I feel like Joseph has experience in canvassing because the "do I know you?" method is a very classic way to get someone's attention so they can listen to your cause! He had the voice and everything, even accidentally let out the "church" part, which indicates that it is a memorized rap. It's also easy for people to think you're hitting on them when you're just trying to be charismatic, so I think he pulled that "pick up line" from canvassing
