I can literally find a young cheaper option to give me what Tobias gave the sixers in the playoffs i mean just literally look at the Knicks or pacers they got guys like obi toppin looking better then Tobias. I really do think it'd be a shame if Klay can't take a smaller deal and stay on the team. Would be a tragedy to see him on another team. The fact of the matter is that while of course the team owes him for being such a major part of their dynasty, he also owes the team for sticking with him. He's been paid $30-40M dollars a year over the past 4 seasons despite serious injuries, long periods on the bench and a massive dip in production. Not to mention the $15-25M he made in the 5 years before that. I think the loyalty the team has to Klay has been more than paid by paying to rehab him through severe injuries. Love Klay, and would love to see him get another bag, but he needs to meet GSW in the middle on this one and repay some of that loyalty. It's a two-way street.

  • @ScuffTuff
    @ScuffTuff14 күн бұрын

    The 76ers have really monumentally choked their roster in the past few years. Trading Mikal Bridges, choosing Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler for MORE MONEY than Miami gave Jimmy, attacking Ben Simmons to such a huge degree that his mental health became even worse than his physical health, costing them one of the best, most versatile defenders and playmakers in the league, and pissing off Harden, causing him to force his way out. If Phily doesn’t manage to bring in PG or trade for Jimmy, the process is probably done at this point. Even with one of them, both are injury prone, and alongside Embiid, that has a decent chance of still not ending well.

    I'd be Surprised if he doesn't get 25-30 on a short term contract. Obviously not on the Warriors but there's certainly some contenders in need of a Scorer with a great 3 point percentage and proven playoff experience. Sixers would certainly love to have Klay as a third option behind Maxey and Embid. Magic could use some of that experience and Shooting.

    The only $100 million offer Caleb Martin would've gotten last year was maybe a $100 million/5 year contract which would've still been an overpay. Who's giving him a 5 year deal where he'd get $20 million per year as a role player or borderline starter? Where'd you pull that $100 million number out of your ass? Maybe he could've gotten like $60 million/3 years or something last summer but nobody was going to give him $100 million.

    Unfortunately Klay is the odd man out with the Warriors they paid Curry Green and Wiggins and if they want to commit to Moody and Kuminga there is no room for Klay and that would put them in the second apron which would take them out of the draft lottery if they didn’t make the playoffs with the new NBA rules and them missing the playoffs this year makes it really difficult to bring him back

    I’m so tired of people blaming Tobias Harris when Philadelphia gets out-coached in the playoffs every year. You know Joel Embiid doesn’t want the ball in the 4th quarter. He’s soft as cotton. Watching Embiid shoot 12 footers when the game is on the line, or shy away from contact when he drives to the bucket in high pressure moments has gotten so old. Joel Embiid will never win a championship in Philadelphia. His only shot is if he gets traded to a better organization, and becomes the third option.

    Well, Klay's shooting did take a small hit due to not having the same lift, but it's his defense that really hurt his stock. He can't be a lockdown defender like he used to be anymore

    Klay didn’t fumble the bag lol. He shot 39% from three. Far above average. 18ppg in 29 min is right in line with where he’s been at the last few years. (Last year 21.7ppg in 33 min).. his problem in GS is he isn’t a #2 option like he was asked to be. That was supposed to be Wiggins. Someone will offer klay 25-30 million a year guaranteed. Shooters are always needed, and always get paid.

    What was the plus/minus? It's not always about shooting. Klay was impactful because he was a TWO WAY player. Not just a shooter. Klay took a MASSIVE hit defensively when he took his injuries. If his shot wasn't falling, he was always stable defensively. That isn't the case anymore

  • @billy306

    @billy306

    16 күн бұрын

    @@ValSempai that’s why I said you can’t expect him to be a 40 million dollar second option. He’s not that guy anymore. But he’s still a good 3/4 option on a contending team that draws a ton of attention. Defensively he isn’t a guard the other teams best player anymore. But definitely isn’t on the lower spectrum of defenders. If you have realistic expectations for him and put him on a contender he gives them a big boost. He would be great on the magic, bucks, sixers, knicks, and more. He will get a lot of calls this off season..

    While I don't take offense with this type of video, as it is entertainment just like any other video on this channel, I do think these NBA players do not entirely get a fair shake. All of the players mentioned are simply on bad teams that underperform, or - in the case of Buddy Hield and Tobias Harris - simply are underused because the team has better defensive options. Especially Buddy Hield is a guy that needed more time to adjust. He won a game for the Sixers in the playoffs nearly on his own, by getting insanely hot, hitting not just open, but heavily contested and clutch shots. Tobias Harris has been criticized for years, but I'm 100% sure if he'd not have such a high paying contract but a more reasonable one, people would have been happy with how well he has performed. He still is a relatively consistant all-round NBA player, that would be a starting player or a first option off the bench on almost any roster. For guys like Spencer Dinwiddie that have been great when on a team that optimized his value, like the Mavs, it is not strange that he underperfoms on a team like the Nets, that have barely any playmaking, or the Lakers, that are LeBron focused and barely utilized him in his optimal way. His most important strength is driving to the basket and playmaking from that, which is very hard to do on a team with so little spacing as the Lakers currently. Sure, he can hit open catch and shoot threes like all above average and good shooters, but his true value lies in his driving game, which has no place on the team he is on. There are not many excuses for Klay Thompson missing open shots, or chugging threes that are not great shots, but he, like all of the others, was still on a team that was consistanly bad this year. I've seen players like him, that were great during the bigger part of their career, turn a new page when on another team and still get some of that glory back by being an excellent roleplayer. You only have to look at how well Kevin Love has adjusted and provide valuable minutes on the Heat to see what I mean. Klay is about the same age, so he can be that trustworthy 3 point threat off the bench, that is a smart passer and knows how to set screens and make others around him better. My very longwinded point was: Even though you'd expected more from some of these guys, the situation they are in just as much affects their ability to perform, if not more.

    I think Buddy Hield is fine. He was playing well with the Pacers and then playing well on the 76ers. No one really outside of Tyrese Maxey played consistently well in Philadelphia with all the injuries to Key players. Hield then came to life in Game 6 which was a strong reminder of what he could do even in the biggest moment.
