Nearly every piece of security software I've ever installed turned my machines into sloths, and it was almost impossible to completely remove the bits and pieces of software from my machine. I did the math, and the time I saved not using antivirus VS using one left me enough money to purchase a brand new motorcycle.

I've used Windows Defender for the past few years and have no KNOWN issues with my machine. I don't do any unsafe browsing or click on sketchy websites either so, I think I'll stick with Defender for now.

@@easymoneeey correct, I've been using my laptop for over 2 years non stop just using Windows defender. If you are the kind of person who loves to download sketchy files or software, then you are asking for trouble.

As someone who started learning about computers in college and used punched cards (1 per line of code), I love learning new things these days. Thanks for the task view info, as well as the synching info.

These are brilliant! So useful! I knew about the extra desktops, but didn't know you could name them or move things between them. So many programs and apps are like this. They don't seem to show you the really useful basics for people like me who aren't that computer literate or don't need fancy stuff - they just exclusively focus on the really complicated programs instead. What they forget is that the more easy they make it for people to learn the basics, the more people will be interested in learning more.

Simply brilliant Liron! As for the last, mouse scrolling setting, you have to wonder why Microsoft doesn't have it switched on by default, or even why there is an alternative to this setting.

I had "sense" enough to have "Storage Sense" enabled -- but the rest of the features you showed I had either (a) never seen before or (b) forgotten. Fruitful morning out here in the Pacific Northwest... thanks, Liron! 😎

If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone, the Phone Link app can mirror your phone and you can your phone apps on Windows

Hi, Liron I have Windows 11 and just recently start using the multiple desktop feature. Although I can't seem to drag the app to the different desktop like shown at 8:25 time stamp. I have to Right Click on the top of the window and choose "Move to.." and then choose the name of the desktop. Is this only in Windows 10 that this drag apps to desktop? Great Video !!

haha and its so darn useful when you really start to use it. I have one Desktop for work stuff, one for gaming, one for video editing. Each one is set up with the tools I need. And the cool bit is that when you reboot your computer, its all still there!

The App "Enhancer for KZread" has a button that toggles off/on info cards, which is useful when the uploader blocks the screen under the info cards unintentionally. I use it a lot.

My laptop Win10 got updated a few days ago. Since then I can't change the brightness 😑 (no brightness slider, can't change by pressing the Function key etc). I went online and followed many tips but still can't change it. Have you experienced this recently, or tried something which fixed this problem? Thank you.

Pinning your clipboard means that it survives reboots, as well.

Thanks for the storage feature Liron I use ESET and it does so much more like your Trend AV and I have been using it on my machines for years now I cannot fault it for those who are interested. One feature I use is Google Keep and I prefer it to sticky notes - worth a try mate it has many features making some of your more important notes visible by a large array of backgrounds to the note!! One more thing have you or anyone else tried the Brave Browser it is great and is so much quicker and less resource hungry than either Edge of Chrome (it shares a setup with the latter) but this browser also blocks trackers saves bandwidth and time!!

what's the benefit of using the virtual desktops?

If only Microsoft Windows would allow full input focus to any app *regardless of its position on the window stack* . This is how RISC OS (Acorn computers) used to do it back in the day. So even if a window is below all others, it has input focus without appearing on top and covering up what you were referring to - unless you click on its title bar.

My win10 pro doesn't recognize storage sense. Is there another command for this?

Holy moly this clipboard sharing thing sounds like a privacy nightmare. Let's say you are copy/pasting whilst editing a confidential document - do you want your clipboard history to be saved? How about password managers that temporarily copy your credentials to the clipboard? And when the clipboard is shared to other devices, is it end-to-end encrypted? I would stay far away from this option.

Do you know how to get telegram on desktop when logged out and not sending code saying it's opened elsewhere when it's not 🙏

How did you actually bring up the actual "clipboard' I don't seem to have that option.

Yiu can do CTRL A, then CTRL C. then and delete what you don't want after doing CTRL V.

I like the virtual desktop but it does not work this way on my Windows 10 machine. When I add a new desktop, it is populated as a copy of my main desktop, not a blank one like in this video. Am I missing something?

To be clear: It will carry across any desktop items/ shortcuts etc. If you delete something from the one, it will delete from the other. We are talking about having different apps/ windows open on different desktops. Not complete different environment that you can set up one way on Desktop 1 and another on Desktop 2.

I almost got the Trend virus software but I don't like the fact that it will automatically charge my card after one year. Because there is no option to prevent automatic payment I'm going to pass.

Antivirus software are utterly useless in low end pcs like mine having a core2duo as it takes up alot of ram and uses ur cpu around 30-40% which is very annoying for a weak computer like this. If carefull enough malware and ransomware are pretty much handled by the default win def

Virtual desktops are amazing, until you use them with more screens. I just wish that Microsoft would update them to be separate from each other. That's the one feature from macOS that I miss so much.

there is always at least one person who sees the word Windows and goes to their default "move to Linux". And yet, let me ask you this: with all its "greatness" how come its less than 1% of the global Operating Systems for Desktop? Its Free and still you can't give it away. For server/ security - 100% Linux rules. For Desktop it suck massively for anyone who doesn't want to git clone yet another workaround just to make something work🤪

@@LironSegev yep, Linux sucks in several things, but it depends for who.. I'm using Linux as a daily driver on my laptop. If I need to play, using my game console. For multimedia, browsing, trading etc. Linux does exactly same as on Windows. Administering Linux? Not hard as many people thinks.. Yeah, there are several things that you can't find on Linux (even on mac), virtual machine helps a lot. There are always solutions. Those who want to sacrifice their security and privacy for a comfort, they will definitely continue with windows as it's "easy to use".. I have more than 20 devices that are running on Linux (for different usages..Android, Ubuntu server, Ubuntu desktop, Fedora, blendos, Proxmox, even Mac on Proxmox 😉) and I can literally do whatever I need

- clipboard stuff kinda works, you need to sign in with ms wich many ppl dont like - leaving windows on auto pilot to delete stuff on your pc is not a smart tihng to do - antiviruses have gotten worse then viruses, you need only defender wich is allready there and some brains

- you don't have to use Windows at all. You can use a MAC or Linux. It makes zero sense to me that people has an aversion to using a platform written by Microsoft and then complain about Microsoft. Don't like it? write your own platform. - Its 100% smart to have automation in place. Why wouldn't you? Just set it up the way you want to. We automate so many things in our daily lives which of course you can do manually, but automation makes life easier. - Couldn't disagree more on the anti-virus. While defender is great, you missed the part about how many other utilities and services come with Trend. Of course, you don't need to have secure password, you don't need a vpn, you don't need to keep your system running optimally. You don't need to do any of those things. Much like your car. You don't need to service it, but when it dies, you will probably look to blame someone. At the end of the day, feel free not to use or not use anything. Isn't nice that we don't all have to be forced into doing something just one way? Good luck!
