Teach music you'll be hired for and music that you actual can feel, without sheet music. It's enough actual gospel musicians teaching what they've always been playing. It's greedy to learn their content, and teach to your audience who won't be hired for gospel music gigs. Teach what you really know, so you won't take away views and money from the actual musicians you learned from, from KZread or a purchased patreon account.

I ❤❤❤ your channel and your gift. I am a Gospel MD and I do appreciate the theory, your demonstration sounds more like jazz than gospel. We do use the licks and progressions that you mention, but the vibe in a live service or recording is different. Love your gift. ❤

I love this! This is what is much needed. Music theory is something that most gospel musicians don't know enough of to explain what they are doing. It took a lot of watching my friends play by ear and then my knowledge of theory to understand.

I don’t know what gospel musicians you’ve been around, but don’t give nobody else that power. I know PLENTY of gospel musicians that break down EXACTLY what they do.

I'm not gonna lie; I was questioning whether this was actually accurate to gospel piano... before she mentioned the major 7th chords. Then all doubt went away (& she did a real good job in her interpreted gospelized style of playing, too!).

Just to share some other gospel chord information you make like, consider listening to Yohan Kim's gospel music, or Moses Tyson on organ, listen to the background on Rev. G. E. Patterson songs, you may even hear some nice II-V-I's. I noticed you used How High The Moon in your example, check out the harmony on How Great Thou Art from Vocal Majority. I am sure there are other examples of other gospel chords/harmony, just a suggestion you might find interesting.
