Along the same lines as your last point, I used to go to the plant nursery and load up the wagon with flowers, herbs, vegetable starts, etc., without thinking about where each plant was going to go or when I'd have the time to transplant them all. I finally took control of my impulses and now I ask myself, "Exactly where am I going to plant this lovely flowering shrub?" If I can't come up with a viable answer I put it back and move on. This approach has saved money, time and the life of many a seedling that would languish until I got around to doing something with it!

Great story! Thanks for sharing! 🌺
When you said Castle is Cottage, I instantly thought "well a cottage is always what I thought of for my house", then I pictured a perfect cottage, which has only necessary things and a few fun items. Our home has been clutter free for a long time. Given the cottage image I got in my mind, I will be donating more items. Thanks Robyn 😊

I am getting better at letting go.. I need to do more! I have a cottage, with a castle worth of “stuff”…, slowly but surely it is going.

Are you saying we should put a hold on watching “Minimalist Home”?!😂

LOL - No! Put a hold on things that are taking too away from decluttering! But also: try to do some of the work while watching and listening, so that the videos aren’t actually a distraction from taking action! 👍🏼

Robin, love your channel. So this B'Boomer gal would love for you to put out some short clips from this episode for my ADHD hubby. You know guys won't listen to the whole thing even if they need to hear it. However, I can forward the Shorts & he'll watch. So , like the part where you said if you haven't used it ... get rid of it.😅 It would so helpful coming from someone else.😂 Great points today. ❤🏖Kj in Tampa Bay 😊

Yuppers, we are both working at it. However, it comes a lot easier for me. Although he's made good strides ,he's stuck on some items. I'm not one to push, though. Take care 😊😍

I love your content, but what is up with your voice? I have watched so many videos. I do not understand this. I, too, am Canadian and so this does not seem to be a Canadian affect. Why? It doesn’t make it hard to listen to.

What kind of comment is this?! Ridiculous and rude and unnecessary. People are something now days. Like just move on, 🤦🏼♀️. Love you girl! Nothing is wrong with your voice.

@@MinimalistHome Honestly - I was trying to be constructive, not pejorative. From the transcript - I could not FIND MY FAVORITE DRESS encounters with RANDOM appliances and containers seemed impossible until I unlocked these five things to easily declutter my home. So the very first thing I did I recognized that I had the COMPLETE wrong vision. There's an emphasis on some words that I find distracts from otherwise great content. Your recent interview with Dana K White was great content and the distracting manner of speech was absent.
