5:39 I've read that book last year and that's actually what pushed me to double down on my continuous improvement journey and start taking courses on it. I took advantage of the ambiguity of my previous role to involve myself with projects I normally don't have any business getting involved in. I'm glad I did. I leveraged those experiences to land my current role as a continuous improvement analyst. Great video!

Good stuff. My passion is Helping people and companies improve their processes and products. I use my expertise skills in Statistical Data Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving, etc to do that. And those are the things I am passionate about. Trying to get back into the workforce as a C.I. Engineer/Manager / QE / QA Mgr after being out for a while now. Keep up the good work.

Hello Chad, loved the video, just found out your channel and I’m going through a lot of your material. I am a LATAM industrial engineer with 2 years of experience in innovation and continuous improvement. I am currently working with C level executives in operational excellence management. I have grown very quickly in the industry getting into Manager roles, and applying general principles that align well with Kaizen, LSS’s DMAIC and so on very pragmatically, but I’ve come to the point where I realize I need to use better tools to achieve better results and take better informed decisions. I have gone through LSS white and yellow belt training, but have no official certifications. Where would you suggest to start and what would be the most relevant certifications I should pursue in the future? Thanks in advance, amazing value in your content!

Hi, Manuel. Thanks for the quick bio and question. I wouldn't recommend any certifications. I know that sounds crazy! I recently performed a study and cross referenced it with a leading firm. The study was conducted on job postings related to lean, six sigma, Kaizen and RCA. The study found that job posting are leaning a way from six sigma - meaning that jobs are leaning away from six sigma. I know many job postings still mention six sigma, but what they really want is someone who knows 3-key things. 1) How to solve problems. 2) How to Improve processes 3) how to do both rapidly using Kaizen. I've been in this industry for over 2-decades...I'm just sharing my experience and position...Don't waste your money on certifications. Learn the material and start applying on a small scale...then ramp up based on comfort level. For example: Start with easy RCA or Kaizen JDIs...Even performing these on home projects...sounds crazy but this will build process muscle for more complex situations later....document everything just like if you were at work...So, start with Lean, Then RCA and Kaizen. Hope this helps! PS: Please consider subscribing to the channel if you haven't! Appreciate you.
