Welcome to DESIGN SEED!
In today’s episode, we will be sharing a story of a French client who is currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, who we designed for and renovated his property twice in the past 10 years!
The entire general space is choreographed to be correlative to one another, spending time in the kitchen and dining is clearly visible, when the living hall is being occupied, it could connect to not just the dining area but now also to the work studio.
If you enjoyed today’s episode please share and subscribe, and support us by contributing a small amount by clicking on the super thanks button below.

    Been watching several of your videos recently and found it refreshing. I am a foreign living in Malaysia and noticed that most of Malaysian interior is often tasteless, boring and unappealing even for new projects. So it's a surprise to see local design company that can do minimalist/contemporary interior design 😊. Keep it up.

    Love this design. Not overly designed. Everything was done with functionality reason in mind, not just to show off wealth. I believe in 财不外露. A House should be comfortable, simple, minimalist (tidy), functional, and easy to maintain. It is not an office or hotel that needs to make any statement to others. Those designs are not long lasting and you will get bored very fast. It may be boring to designers when designing, but it is more applicable to the majority of people's lifestyles. Good job, very inspirational.

    Whilst I fall somewhere between minimalist and maximalist (more towards max) … I can appreciate a design that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. And this is a handsome home. With that being said … imho … I find that designers and the public as a whole in SG and possibly MY take the “less is more” minimalist principle of design too literally. One still has to scale objects and furniture within the space to proper size. Usually it’s scaled too small. Minimalism isn’t just filling up the space with dinky furniture…or doing away with important and necessary furniture like coffee tables, side tables etc etc. You still need stuff. It’s about choosing furniture thats visually “lighter” or maybe a bit smaller. Our versions of minimalism almost always end up looking incomplete and empty. Or as a friend said … looks like not enough budget to reno and decorate.

    I really love the creative lighting within the wall panels and the color and texture selection. I would however like to see more authentic videos about how the spaces REALLY "live". For example, how about showing soap dishes and towels and toiletries in a bathroom? Or, heaven forbid, a garbage can? If those things aren't shown, then it means that they are not taken into consideration as part of the design process.

    What is the laminates used for the wardrobes? I see that the edges are also of same color of laminate. How was this achieved? I have seen laminates where the all edges of the furniture have a black line because. The black color is the underside of the laminate that get's exposed at every cut line, hence every corner of the furniture.

  • @wenwengoh8744

    @wenwengoh8744

    It's solid core laminates, whole piece of laminate sheet are the same color including the edge, or that's another material called PVC edging, it can use to cover up the black line of laminate as well

    1) I have an entertainment room. Having a light-up area along the wall in an entertainment room is a big no, it is a distraction when watching or playing games. On top of that, what seemed to be a small space is made even smaller by dividing the wall in half with the light-up along the way. 2) The worst is there is a conflicting statement, one moment was to allow more light into the house and the next you have a big mirror blocking the window. 3) Lastly, using bright colors to make the room bigger, is a wrong concept, dark colors can make the room big too but the room needs to be consistent in the tone of the dark colors and make it really dark, for example, black or dark blue color. 4) If a person really wants a minimalist design, there should not even be given such a big display shelf in the living room. Any space that can be multip-function, should be made so. That display shelf is a big waste of space.
