My favorite fish right now is Danio choprae (Glowlight Danio). My favorite plant is Barclaya longifolia.

I would have put Tip #5 at Tip #1. The biggest issue new people have with tanks is water quality. Keeping an eye on the water quality and only changing the water when necessary instead of strictly changing x gallons a week would be my advice.

Interesting take! We have found that regular weekly maintenance works best for us. How often do you test and about how often do you perform water changes?

@@BucePlant My 10G tank I changed 2 gallons of water ~3 months ago , that was the last time I changed it. Before that it was over 4 months. If you feed correctly, as you noted in the video, the plants, cleanup crew, and filter will take care of the tank water in my experience. Sometimes there are pretty big changes in municipal water that people don’t notice. Blindly changing the water in that case even if the tank water quality is good can be a problem for fish, plants, and overall water quality. If you’re using rodi water remineralized in sure it’s fine to change whenever you want without risk. But, why bother if the quality is good? Better time spent watching the inhabitants. Edit - obviously top off once or twice a week when needed. I test the water weekly for nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia.

What do you recommend for a 180 gal aquarium.....that has cloudy water to clear it up-???

Depends on why it's cloudy! Is it a new tank with kicked-up soil or is the water tinted green with algae? Feel free to DM us on Instagram (@buceplant) with photos as well so we can assist further
