    I've always thought Natalie made a lot of mistakes in Micronesia, including that Final 8 situation. Jason was looking to take her to FTC, would lose to her, and had shown he'd play Idols for close allies. Keeping him in was to her benefit. She also had a mistake at F6, when Alexis wanted to pull a 3-2-1 vote to blindside Parvati, but Natalie refused because she was thinking with...not her head.

    Natalie could've controlled the game, and all she had to do was blindside one of Parvati/Amanda/Cirie at F8. It's a shame she didn't, but at least we got the best F3 of all time

    I was thinking about this topic recently after Dee voted for Sifu at the tribal where Sean asked the tribe to him out because of the drama that sparked from Sifu getting paranoid about the vote, but it actually became a benefit for Dee after the other original Reba outsider, J Maya, for some reason decided to take the fall for the vote which pitted the two outsiders of the Reba Four against each other and not against them

    The Men giving up immunity might be one of the best outcomes of the One World setting. This could have never happened on any other season. Just a prime example of why this idea should be attempted again. The amount of cross-tribe possibilities is endless.

    I feel like Missy voting out Chelsea has to be in contention for this simply due to how lucky she got after it happened. She votes out someone who wants to be her ally over Karishma who she is already against and Dean who hasn't shown her loyalty. Then the tribe swap puts her closest 3 allies from Lairo with her in a 4-4 split and the other 3 more likely to be against her on the other tribe which had a 5-3 split. Then, Elaine gets a vote steal advantage for sitting out of the challenge which allows them to have the numbers at the pre merge tribal when before they would've turned on each other to avoid a tie, which has been confirmed in interviews. If anything went differently she could've been gone premerge easily due to how badly she misplayed. You know, maybe it did backfire, because by not being sent home she contributed to everything that happened at the merge, so we paid the price instead.

    I have always maintained that given Erik's situation, I understand how he was convinced giving Natalie his immunity was a good play. It obviously wasn't but I can see how he was manipulated into thinking it was. The only way he was going to win was if he could manage to run the remainder of the immunity challenges. I really doubt he would have been able to, but that was his only winning strategy at that point. Ultimately, I think once Alexis was gone, it was Parvati' game to lose. Erik just hadn't realized it yet.

    Another from Season 42- Maryanne helping Lindsay find the challenge advantage at the Final 5, despite the fact the she was the only person left in the game who would beat her at the end and being the obvious target this vote. If Lindsay had capitalized on her advantage in the challenge she would have been guaranteed Final 4, which could have easily cost Maryanne the game.

    It’s really interesting how the Men giving up immunity affected so much of the game, the Women were going to vote out Christina who went on to get 4th place, which would have put the women down a number, assuming who Colton and Alecia decide to cut between Monica and Bill could put the women in a minority come merge which threatens Kim’s domination and would have forced her to stick with the men for longer than she initially had to

    While this may sound like a bad move on the surface, I'm surprised it hasn't been done already- giving your immunity necklace away WHEN NO ONE ELSE KNOWS YOU WILL (and don't tell production ahead of time). The immunity necklace is the ultimate power and offers an immunity that can be transferred. If you know where votes are heading, you can make a really flashy move at tribal and treat the necklace like a hot potato immunity idol.

    You have to give some indication you have an idol for this to work though, as otherwise people will take the easy out of switching their vote of you for making a rogue move. This happened to Jenna in Amazon when she gave up immunity out of nowhere, she just got extremely lucky that Rob and Matt still went through with the Kristie vote. (speaking of which, Jenna giving up that immunity is easily the single worse move that didn't backfire, it's certainly higher than any on this list!)

    I think a great example of this is also Alec from David Vs Goliath voting out Natalia! Carl came into the tribe and that put him from a majority into a 3v2 minority David v Goliaths, and if they laughed he easily could’ve been picked off :O

  • @jonnysforlife1697
    @jonnysforlife16976 ай бұрын

    Speaking of telling the minority alliance your blindside plans at the most unnecessary times, there’s actually one instance of this on where it actually backfired, in which it happened in the Final 9 round Australian Survivor: Champions vs Contenders(2018) *SPOILER ALERT* So at the Final 9, there’s a 6-3 faction, with Shonee, Fenella, and Benji at the bottom, and the minority members are trying to take out Mat at this round because of how powerful/threatening he is, in which they tried to recruit Brian & Monika in on the plan, but it fails because they are Champions strong. However, Mat notices that Brian is getting closer with Shonee & Fenella because of him making the girls laugh at his jokes, so therefore he devises a plan to blindside Brian, since he doesn’t really trust them. But then he allows Sharn to tell Benji about the plan to blindside, which resulted in the minority alliance telling Brian & Monika about the plan, in which they’ve eventually decided to join them to take out Mat in a 5-4 vote. And people were saying on how Sharn should’ve played the idol on Mat or Mat should’ve played his idol on himself, but are also forgetting on how both Mat and Sharn could’ve easily prevented this if they didn’t tell the minority alliance of the plan to blindside Brian

  • @XanderMatthews-nv9zf

    @XanderMatthews-nv9zf

    5 ай бұрын

    And then there’s Shonee stealing Sharn’s vote at the next tribal when they’re down 5-3 and then casting both votes for Sharn. When it went to the revote, Benji and Sharn couldn’t vote and Shonee lost the stolen vote allowing Steve, Shane, Brian, and Monika to gut Benji 5-1 after Fenella recognized the sinking ship she had got on. Had she stolen let’s say Steve’s vote then her and Fenella with the stolen vote could have pressured Monika to flip back on the revote.

    I don't think Manono giving up immunity belongs in this video. The move did backfire in the sense that the women ended up running away with the whole game. Had the women gone to tribal council instead of the men, the numbers going into the merge could be more in favour of the men, and a man truly could have won. On another note, the do or die challenge, both in Deshawn's season and Lindsay's season, does belong in this video because the theory behind the Monty Hall problem says that your odds are better if you switch boxes, but Deshawn and Lindsay both stuck with their original choice and guessed right anyway.

    Natalie is so frustrating in the post merge of Micronesia. Here's an idea-instead of riding the favorites' coattails and voting out Jason, rallying the fans to vote out either Parvati or Cirie, have the numbers, and be in the driver's seat to FTC. I think this highlights the fatal flaw with FvF format and why I don't get why people keep bringing up a 3rd iteration as a returnee season idea. The fans would rather play for the favorites than against them.

    I think it goes to show just how how good of a winner Parvati was. Natalie knew full well that once the men were all gone, her days were numbered, but she was still fiercely loyal to Parvati and would sacrifice herself for her. Notice how when the girls come up with the plan to convince Erik to give up immunity, she gets frustrated and says, “Who would fall for that?” You’d think she said that because it’s an obvious statement, but in her quarantine questionnaire during the pandemic, she claimed she said that out of frustration because she knew she was the next to go and thought the favorites were only saying that to get her to lower her guard. She easily could’ve just voted with Erik and maybe even tried to flip Cirie because even she knew Parvati and Amanda were a tight pair, but no. Natalie just went along with the favorites, did Parv’s bidding and accepted defeat when her time came

    Okay entertaining that, Sarah probably blindsides Michaela or Cirie at final 6, probably Michaela for being a physical threat and then Cirie is picked off at F5 I don’t really think her elimination is that bad but she had 0 chance of winning due to Brad and Sarah controlling the game

    How about how the terrible move of Voting Jerri out of at final 8 in Australian Outback, blindsiding Amber. How did Amber not flip on original Ogakor?? Rodger Elizabeth and Nick should have pulled Amber over and it would have given them the numbers. Tina, Colby, and Keith should have lost the game right then and there. Now Colby did go on an immunity run here, but with Nick still in the game, he could have at least given Colby some competition if not outright win 1 of those immunity challenges.

    Does this count? Natalie Anderson “accidentally” voting for Alec in SJDS. It was her real move to vote for Alec to weaken Jon and Jaclyn but she made it SEEM like a dumb move. So basically it was a genius fake dumb move that “just so happened” to put Natalie in a better position.

    Why some moves didn't backfire? Because it wasn't scripted to happen.
