    Natalie betraying Baylor is underrated. She played the hell outta her closest ally. So much so that when Nat played the idol for her alliance’s enemy Missy thought she’d be the one to get voted out, not Baylor who viewed Nat as her big sister.

    To me everyone on Caramoan (especially Dawn) voting out Brenda after she gave up her loved ones visit so they could all spend time with their families (and after she found Dawn’s retainer) was especially brutal. Also bad because Brenda and Dawn were the last two in the immunity challenge and Brenda gave it up because she trusted Dawn

    I don't think Dawn was brutal. She actually played the game quite well, I just feel as though she didn't articulate her game good enough to the jury at the end. If she threw Cochran under the bus as more of a goat it could've garnered respect over some or the harsher choices. Brenda was just bitter, plain and simple. I mean literally watch caramoan and name one thing Brenda even does until the Family Visit that isn't just being an alliance member to Cochran, Dawn and Phillip. She's not a good player.

    @@ch-su5oc Using the family visit as a way to blindside someone was more despicable than most blindsides on the show. I think Dawn was worse because Brenda gave her the immunity win sort of like what Parvati did with Danielle in HvV. However, I can't really get on board with Cochran either for that. It didn't feel like the regular strategic blindside like say Nick during Michele's winning season or Ozzy on Parvati's season. They milked all they could out of Brenda ruthlessly got rid of her. What Andrea was trying to pull on Brenda the tribal before seemed nice in comparison.

Thanks for the vid. :)

    They bullied him to no end and got what they deserved. Coach saw what was happening and, probably for strategy reasons but possibly because deep-down I get the feeling Coach has also experienced that kind of treatment and so he could empathize, offered Cochran basic respectful treatment. While he didn't win, Cochran stood against the bullying and probably felt very good about himself which then led to a triumphant return the next time out. (I still think Coach was robbed that season from a butt-hurt jury).

    I think Cochran might have won had coach not been an idiot. I heard coach say that if he wasn't so true to his word (lol) that he would have rather played with Cochran and Edna. He probably could pull Brandon in to vote out Sophie or Albert at 7. If the final 3 was Cochran (whom his tribe hates), coach (whom everyone who has ever seen survivor hates), and Edna who came across as annoying and on the outs (but we may get a different edit if she makes it to the final 3 and/or wins), who wins? Maybe Cochran. That's why I think it wasn't dumb of him to flip.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dawn got a raw deal. Everyone is so quick to point out Drawn's betrayal, yet completely ignore the fact that Dawn did save Brenda in the previous tribal when Andrea was targeting her. It's also extremely hypocritical for Brenda to laugh like a giggly little schoolgirl when they blindside Andrea (who in contrast, was such an awesome sport about it despite leaving with an idol in her pocket), but once it's her turn to be on the receiving end of a blindside, all of a sudden the game isn't fun anymore and she takes it super personally?

    I think you are not understanding the context of why Brenda was hurt. Andrea was COMING AFTER Brenda and had written her name down for which Brenda giggled Brenda had also found Dawb 's teeth which made their bond much stronger and like she said in her final speech that Cochran and Sherri had blindsided her too, but she was OK with that because she did not have the same bond she had with Dawn. She was heart broken to know that Dawn had betrayed her like that

  • @roger_towny_jr

    @roger_towny_jr

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@sanjumitra1 Oh, I understand the context perfectly. I still don't think it justifies what Brenda did to Dawn in the slightest. Dawn and Cochran both saved Brenda by orchestrating the Andrea blindside. How does Brenda thank them? By trying to orchestrate a blindside on Cochran. Cochran may not have pulled Dawn's teeth out of the water, but they were still extremely close and played the whole game together. In order for Dawn to stay loyal to Brenda she would of had to betray Cochran, so apparently she's a traitor regardless. Sorry she didn't go with the popular choice, but villifying her for playing the game with vitriol that goes way beyond the game was immature and uncalled for.

    @@roger_towny_jr Well if Dawn had gotten rid of Cochran, she might have actually had a shot at winning instead of being his goat. She let him tank her game a second time. Brenda was a closer ally of Dawn/Cochran's than Andrea so it made sense for them to save her. At the time, Andrea was also a bigger threat. But the game evolves day to day and I believe it was both in Dawn and Brenda's best interest to get rid of Cochran at that time. He won, so Brenda was right. I think the sting of this betrayal is similar to Rob/Lex where one is thinking on a game level and the other believes the bond transcends the game. Final tribal was rough and I have to watch that with my hands in front of my face, but I could see where Brenda was coming from. Dawn said she'd quit if she didn't have her teeth and when confronted denied that so Brenda said prove it. Dawn mostly annoyed me because of her ridiculous waterworks every other minute and over the top reaction to the family visit rather than the betrayal.

When she confronts them before tribal council to discuss the vote and then they sheepishly tell her they’re voting her out without even being able to look at her, and watching her heart break and her subsequent meltdown.

    Brenda was entirely justified in asking Dawn to take out her teeth. Everything Dawn was saying diminished what Brenda had done for her. She almost withdrew from the game over something cosmetic but contradicted herself in saying that wasn't the case at the FTC. Sure Brenda was hurt and that came across quite strongly, but Brenda was motivated by Dawn owning up to what she was claiming, rather than humiliating her. That being said, Brenda blindsided her ally Andrea the tribal before that. You can't have your cake and eat it too in Survivor. The personal connections weren't as strong between Brenda and Andrea, as they were with Dawn and Brenda, but it was still a blindside/betrayal. I do agree that the fan reaction was pretty horrific though.

I know it's a game but I'd be upset if I went out of my way for someone then have them vote me out, particularly after smiling in my face about how righteous she was. One big detail about the Scot vote out, the the vote was 4-2-2 where based on the way Tai voted, more so than the lack of the idol giving, that Tai had no choice but to keep his idol as he had 2 votes and likely is voted out in the revote. Scot and Jason based on the vote count alone would have known something was up.

That was the original final 3 alliance. If you see Ponderosa you'll see she had break down over it and she is visibly broken up about it when sitting on the jury next tribal. Also Russell betraying Danielle. That was the original final alliance for him and she was with and Parvati when no one else was. The reason it's brutal to me is the way he did it. Macs Utopia That would be kinda interesting actually! An unusual twist on returning player seasons. Maybe a couple years from now? I fear the newbies would be roadkill though. And I’m not sure the producers are that invested in the difference between times playing, but it’s a convenient excuse, especially as Survivor becomes more and more meta. What would you title the season?

    On the subject of Tai’s betrayal of Scot and Jason: I should mention a few details are out of place on this video: Tai actually found his half of the super idol at Gondol prior to the swap. Same with Jason and Scot finding theirs at To Tang (keep in mind, when they’re separated they still functioned as regular HIIs). When Scot found out Tai had the Gondol idol after the swap, and Scot reunited with Jason, they made the plan to use the Super Idol should they ever need it. At that Tribal Council, Scot was actually holding Jason’s idol, not Tai. The thing that makes this betrayal even more brutal is that because Tai didn’t give his half of the idol, Scot was officially eliminated with Jason’s idol in his pocket, and per the rules couldn’t give it back to Jason. Absolutely savage.
