Almost 3 years ago I purchased my 3xxl and one of my first projects was your flag. I recently ordered a Shop Sabre that hasn’t been finished building. Great info. I’m having issue carving pine and the vcarve channels are rough instead of smooth. Just carving text. Was running 90 degree bit at 100 ipm at depth of .1 It just looks really bad any thoughts are appreciated.

Enjoying your videos. Using a Carbide machine and software myself also, so I find a lot of tips very helpful. One "frustration" I've had with v carving using CC and CM is that often a carve seems to finish the carve, then move back through the carve a second and even third time with no real perceptible carving going on. Often, the machine will make numerous plunges in one spot as if it is "nibbling" a very tiny area, but I can't really see any changes in depth or motion between each plunge. Any thoughts?

Check your vector for excess nodes. That will cause exactly what you’re talking about.

@@ChrisPowellFSD Thanks for the suggestions. I would guess you may be correct. Typically, I am importing converted btmps from inkscape., and I do notice a lot of nodes in the drawings once the image is converted.

Couldn't find the cnc low profile toe clamps on amazon you mentioned. Where can they be purchased? Thanks. Good video.

Hey Chris. I'm newbie with cnc. I've learned so much from your videos. My biggest problem is warp pieces. I tried edge glued panels and 1 bys. I zero where I'm gonna carve and zero at low point. I've ruined so many projects cause of the not carving or carving to deep in some area then others. I watched this video and you mention surfacing waste board. I couldn't find that video you had made on how to? Ty for your videos

It’s not a font. It’s an svg file I have on my website.

Did my first cut and my stars come out horrible. lol the stars look they were cut with an hatchet and my ega the same. Stripes came out perfect. What went wrong

Good info here .but not finding the information I need when doing V carve stars the the male stars always snap off the tips of the stars, I've tried slowing the machine way down way down to around 30 on the feed , I have all so tryed brand new bits, And still having the same problem. Do you have any advice? Thanks

Try adjusting your depth per pass. Sometimes, depending on the grain, a more or less aggressive cut will help.

Wow i have been running my 60v at 30ipm with .04 depth per pass. Having issues with tear out in oak. Would trying your 100ipm and .150 depth help?

A. I TRIED TO ROUTE MY FIRST BIG SIGN in my "DIY" machine AND EVERYTHING WENT WRONG, THE machine moves when the bit touches the material, when moved to one side, the material moved, the bit is a cheap V bit 90 degrees most used for hand router, now I know what I don´t have to do. Thanks, I will continue suffering with it.
