honestly, I don't know what do other people think but I personally think telling someone about you are learning english is redundant because when you do that, it creates a feeling inner your brain to make you feel like you have finished learning english already, so I never tell anyone about what I'm progressing at or I only tell them when I'm done with it

Yes I’m firmly agree with that, I once told a friend about my progress in learning English, and i did neither receive any positive cheers from him nor feel uncomfortable when talking with him. I realized I shouldn’t have done that. It undermined my confidence a lot actually

I write down every word that is unfamiliar to me and look up it on a dictionary and write down what it means and how to pronounce them the right way😊😊😊.
