Look at the Milwaukee Hardline 5 inch knife. Basically a replica of the Strongarm for about 20 bucks cheaper. I like the Milwaukee's grip and the look of the knife more.

@@jamesshackelford6721 The Hardline 5 inch knife is manufactured in Taiwan (just like the Bahco wreckling knives and all Hultafors knives), while the remaining Milwaukee knives are manufactured in China.

I looked the knife up.. It's $85 to $110 in price and made of AUS-8 steel which is junk metal. Go look at the torture test. The steel fails. It does look like the Strongarm though but I like the Strongarm better. I hate paint or coatings on my knives. The Strongarm without the coating is a great looking knife.

I have a huge knife collection and I recently bought a coyote colored plain edge Gerber Strongarm. I hate to say this, but it’s my best knife. I took it camping in the remnants of a tropical storm earlier this week. There was no dry wood to be found and I actually NEEDED to baton firewood to create dry tinder and kindling. The Strongarm batonned very well, and stayed very sharp. I didn’t know what steel it was made of until I watched this video. I’ve always been a fan of carbon steel like 1095 and 1075, and I’ve never been a big Gerber fan. But this knife is optimal. I have a second degree black belt in tantojutsu, and I think this knife would be excellent for self defense as well. So yeah, it’s worth $90.

My personal Gerber is pretty close to this one, and I can say it’s nice. Of course, I have a custom sheathe for mine and it’s definitely seen some better days.

I got mine for $50 way back. Gonna keep it. Such a nice blade.

I'm glad you shared this blade. It's always been a my wish list. For a big fixed blade I carry the Gerber prodigy

I usually don't carry a fixed blade. I once had a no name hunting knife and since then only folders. I bought a black Strongarm two weeks ago and i can't wait to go hiking in the mountains again! Feels great, got it shaving sharp with some stroping and it looks amazing.

I love mine. Holds a great of an edge.

It’s also really easy to throw and get good sticks too!

90 i pd 65 dollars about 6 years ago. But this is a dam good knife. I generally recommend this knife to most people. Especially to moms who are looking for a knife for their kid.

I just got one at academy for $60 because they were all hanging on the wrong peg with a different price tag too

First proper fixed blade I got . Attached the sheath to my 5.11 backpack I carry everywhere . Looks cool we fuck and super useful ! Love this knife . Now all I need is to learn how to sharpen lol

I have to say it's so dope being from oregon, not only was Leatherman started here but Gerber. Growing up our shity little gas station knives were $2 Gerber's that are now $10 to $15. They were the best shity knives you could get. Throw one in your tackle box shit we had them everywhere. Decent knives that last a great amount of time and made in my home. Win, win, win.

USA 🇺🇸 made Gerbers are fine. It's the China made junk that gives Gerber a bad name. I don't know why Gerber continues Chinese production. My strongarm and my gator are great.

Turns out it was a fake. Shouldve known. Be careful, there seems to be a lot of fakes out there. On ebay especially.

This is the first Strongarm I've seen that doesn't have the black coating on the blade. It is a tough blade for being a simple knife. Just not crazy about the nylon straps on the sheath. But you can carry it scout style, too.

BUCK's 420HC does NOT have a "bad rap". OTHER 420 steels have a bad rap
