I had an old Bandit 400 which wasn't brought in huge numbers to the States, but it was a super entertaining 59 horsepower....I put a jet kit and custom made Yosh header on it which uncorked some more horses and took the top speed from 120ish to 125.....redline was 14K if I recall....supposedly race ECU's took it even higher. Fun times. Not as practical as a parallel twin for the road, but much more fun/engaging.

I’ve owned a 2021 ZX-25R (the smaller version of this) and put a Scorpion exhaust on it. It was a bit of fun but revving the nuts off it eventually got a little tiring and when needing to quickly overtake it just didn’t have the balls in any gear. Briefly test rode the ZX-4RR and it seemed a much better and more practical bike with the bigger engine. Own other bikes like a 98 Suzuki RGV VJ23 2 stroke (which is awesome), 2005 Honda CB400 4 cylinder VTEC (superb bike and similar to this Kawa), Indian FTR1200S, Honda CB1300 Bol’Dor and a couple others. I commend Kawasaki on making this bike and if I had the space would consider the anniversary livery of this ZX-4RR which looks cool as. Enjoy your reviews MotoBob! Ride what you want and ride safe. The 40th anniversary edition of the zx4rr is what made me finally book my direct access course. (mod 1 end of the month and mod 2 next month). Specifically the sound of that screaming inline 4 with a Yoshimura at2 slip on. The typical sound that most new middleweight bikes generate even with aftermarket exhausts just sound so boring to me and simply didn't get me excited enough to want to even try them. Until now. Anything else that scratches that 16k rpm itch either has too much power for the road, too uncomfortable to daily, is too old, or too expensive to insure. Seeing one at a dealer only made me fall in love more as I found the riding position surprisingly comfortable. Some of the complaints for this bike have been the soft suspension but I have a feeling it'll be perfect for our typical B-roads with their various states of disrepair. I'm 36, used to ride years ago on a learner licence but have never been able to justify/afford the high cost of entry for getting a bigger bike. So I had made a choice to switch to 4 wheels to feed my track-day needs, namely a clio 172 which doubles as a daily. Question is. How good would the zx4rr be as an only bike, if daily journeys involve mostly twisty b-roads and some motorway?

I'm loving my ZX4RR. I'm having a hard time deciding which of the other bikes I would rather ride when going out in the garage. I'm always tipping toward the Ninja. It brings me more joy for a punchy ride. I find more joy in it then I did with the 21 MTO7 that I traded in for it. I wanted a 4 cylinder but one that wasn't so aggressive. The parallel twins just didn't do it for me. I don't let money hold me back for something that I really want an can afford. It reminds me of my 09 Street Triple but a little more comfortable and more engine involvement.

If you accidentally decrease slightly and reach 8k, the bike will lose 15 horses instantly. So if you drive fast stay above 12/13k, alternatively below 8k. Never in the middle! Never! Something I don't understand is why almost no reviewers ever talk about engine vibration. Especially on something like this where you're going to be high in the Rev range all the time and almost certainly going to be on the street most of the time how much the engine vibrates is probably the most important characteristic for a lot of people including myself. It's all well and good to have a bike that sounds good and handles well but if you can only ride it for 15 minutes without getting pins and needles and a headache it's not exactly a fun time.

@@gigi9467 From someone who has seen where the cost of parts of vehicles go. I can tell you that car manufacturers only make 14% profit on selling a vehicle. Motorcycles on the other hand have to price them higher since it’s already a category that is niche in itself. Add the chip shortage from TSMC which also makes semi conductor chips needed for the TFT, ECU and other Accelerometer sensors along with the cost of steel going up and the price makes sense. I can say that some cars are overpriced but thats closed minded. If you know anyone in the industry you’ll understand why the cost of manufacturing cars and bikes went up significantly. Wages not going up isnt their fault its our governments. What I recommend to do is look up countries with the best Economy and 2 of them are the USA and Japan, get a degree (which im doing) and move. Its harsh world unfortunately.

Smart move. The 23's (like mine) have a service issue for the frames (requires dealerships to drill a hole on the bottom of the frame for water egress), and an alternator rotor recall. The 24's are nice, but I anticipate the 25's will be ironed out and hopefully catches the satin black livery like the 24 ZX6R's.
