It was fun for me to listen to this video I did 4 years ago on Schiaparelli. One mistake I made was that the bracelet I called lava rock....was NOT lava rock. It is pressed glass. Learning something every day. I have continued my research and broadened my collection, and am still fascinated by it all. I went back to Paris this year and attended a Schiaparelli exhibit which I will share in future videos.

My mom recently went into a nursing home. I am now staying in her home that is filled with china, glassware, figurines, and loads of costume jewelry. About a month ago I came across a silver tone necklace with black aurora borealis stones. It took me quite a while to finally decipher the signature on the back. It was signed Schiaparelli in cursive. I have been searching and looking more into this fabulous women's life. I hopefully will be able to find and buy more pieces of hers in the future!

If any Schiap fans are knitters, you may know she rose to fame following her first trompe l'oeil sweater collection of 1927. A pattern exists for making her iconic Bowknot sweater. It's hard to imagine any of this smashing jewelry being worn with the sweater. I do wonder how she accessorized it.
