Ahh the “rest” is so hard but so needed. Whenever I’m not doing anything I feel guilty because I feel like I need to be productive 😭

I am “thinking” about going back to school at 51 to be a teacher. So far, your videos have been hugely impactful as I consider this! You are super upbeat and “on it.” Thanks so much for your transparency and work in doing these videos and teaching our youth!

Thank you so much for your videos. I am a second year High school Spanish teacher and I feel so guilty for resting. So many people are asking me "are you really not doing anything this summer?" They ask various questions like that to make it seem like I should be working. I do believe we deserve this break and we don't know what's on the horizon for next year. It was nice to hear you confirm the importance of Rest because no one knows what's on the horizon for next year.

Absolutely! You will always feel the pressure to "do more" over the summer, but most of the time that pressure comes from people who aren't teachers. Other teachers get it and that's what matters. Resting is vital for our mental health. If we want to make sure we are effective, healthy and not projecting unstable emotions, anger or fatigue onto our students we MUST rest!

New subscriber! Recently, I changed my major to special education from psychology. I have a strong passion for education now and btw your lesson plan video helped me write my first lesson plan for one of my Special Education classes and I got full credit. 😁
