    Milwaukee tools are beasts for sure. About 5 years ago I got an impact driver kit from Home Depot for like $129. I was going to be an all Milwaukee guy…. Fast forward 5 years and I can’t afford the other tools 😂. They rarely run a deal like the impact drill I got. Maybe they were moving old stock?

    I got the tool and 6ah battery for $299 on Feb 12 2024 + taxes. Felt like a good deal so I picked it up. Totally satisfied. Rupes needs to look at the way Milwaukee has implemented safety triggers on their angle grinders. They have several different implementations depending on the grinder. Grinders have much more potential for damage and injury. My least favorite is the style currently on the Rupes. My favorite is the paddle style. I personally would take the Rupes apart and pin the switch. I did that on my John Deere riding mover, anyone who hates the yellow button knows what I’m talking about.

    I have the Rupes polisher and completely agree with all of the points highlighted. Most of it you get used to, however the battery placing is its biggest problem, as you can easily hit the bodywork of the car when polishing. The trigger takes a little getting used to with the lock but ok. Overall it is the best battery MOP l have used to date.

  • @jeffc6832
    @jeffc68322 ай бұрын

    They actually added the trigger lock after demo'ing the tool at SEMA. Because the battery is such a snug fit (by design to eliminate vibration), people were accidentally turning the polisher on when swapping out batteries. They wanted to avoid an issue like people had with the HLR75 trigger. To me it is a non-issue, since I'm always using the trigger lock anyways. I had the 15 and 21mm Milwaukee polishers, and I sold them as soon as I got the new Rupes. I have nerve issues in my hands and problems with my shoulders, so the lightweight, balanced weight distribution and smoothness makes it much better for long polishing sessions. The battery position isn't ideal, but I think the ergonomics and weight distribution of the tool offsets it. Compared to a corded tool, its still easier to handle. A side benefit of the battery shape/position is when you're at full extension reaching over a hood or roof, the angle of the battery actually hits your wrist perfectly to keep the pad flat and everything stable.

    I have to agree with you 💯%. I personally own one and I've ran into the same issues or have the same concerns. But I do believe you missed something that I haven't seen anyone else point out to Rupes and I feel as if they should've offered it at least to those who pre-ordered their unit. They do not offer any bag or case for this like they did for their iBrid Nano which I also own. This came all in thin cardboard boxes with all the items that came with it but no cool carrying case or bag!?!?? For what it cost, they should've also offered it IMHO. My question to Rupes and I hope they are listening to everyone's feedback here, will they release some kind of bag or case for it. I mean, how are you supposed to carry it around and hoping it doesn't get all scuffed up of banged up at all. They thought about the locking trigger but no bag? I'm just confused about that.

    TBH I think they indeed thought about the case/bag... Thought about how they could make more money by *not* including one lol. I.e. a cost cutting measure. Unfortunately in 2023 and beyond this is par for the course for the majority of companies and products out there. From cell phones not even bothering to give you a charger plug or even USB cable in the box these days, to stuff like this, all just penny pinching measures to see what they can get away with.

    The only reason I still buy Rupes is for long polish sessions and vibrations. I like my hands more than a couple hundred bucks so to me it’s why you buy these over say Milwaukee which is noisy and will damage your hands after just an hour of polishing according to tests done for vibration. The Rupes is extremely smooth and the quietest machine I’ve used. The only other polisher I heavily use is the flex xce 8 125 and even with its flaws just can’t be replaced when you need to polish curvy panels and off angles.
