its not the exhaust making the crackles and pops (well, partly), when you put it in sport plus it changes the engine characteristics and changes the ECU tune to run it rich on fule causing it to pop and stuff, jesus i dont even know anything about this car in particular but i know more than the owner himself...

so point 1 and 2 can be rectified with a aftermarket exhaust or cat by pass. point 3 is only an issue because you changed the colour. point 4 you can get it remapped and solve that issue, and will get more hp after your change of exhaust from point 1 and 2. and again point 5 can also be solved with a modification, your not short of money invest some into it and resolve these pety hate points from it

So take the wrap off if the belts bother you..

A45 is 25% more than RS. GT is 50% more than AMG. I know

not been funny but didnt you think of the colour clashes before wrapping the car?

You have to get the AMG dynamic plus package in order to set the suspension in comfort in comfort or sport mode, with that you can have the noisy engine and the soft suspension ;) That's actually my individual configuration in my car.

Launch control at traffic light would be difficult anyway. Unless you can guess within 3 seconds of when the lights will change.

What I hate MOST about the A45 AMG is that... I don't own one.

I also have an a45 on a 16 plate and in my experience the launch control cancels itself out or deactivates if after selecting with the paddles you have any hesitation on the throttle initially. Also supposedly the steering wheel has to be arrow straight and everything up to temp on the amg display oil and water temp etc

You can make the exhaust louder without the hard ride. On the central console there is an exhaust button that opens the valves. There is also a button for the suspension along the silver row of buttons

is it possible to programm the comfort/sport modes on your own using sth like vcds (diagonstic software from the volkswagen ag, don't know if there is anything similar available for mercedes)?! or just ask some friendly dealer/tuning shop?

I have a fl A45 - To use the launch control function certain criteria must be met. Select the AMG drive menu, make sure the 3 different temperatures are white. Not blue. launch control simply will not work unless all temperatures are at optimum. It has nothing to do with MB not wanting anyone else around.

The Dynamic select only changes the profile of the engine ... They all have Sport Suspension unless you have the adjustable suspension option fitted ... The launch control will only work when the engine temp is over 70 and the gearbox is over 50 ... the launch only fails if the clutch plates are too hot and it won't allow you to do it or your not pressing the throttle down hard enough ... i have the same car as my daily and I have launched from traffic lights with no problems ... love the colour though :)

I have never had an issue with putting my CLA45 in race start mode? You have to wait till all temperatures (coolant, oil and gearbox) are warmed up in the AMG screen in the tach... once they've all changed from blue to white, you can launch it whenever and where ever you want lol

For #1, just go to Individual mode and custom set up the exhaust and ride. You CAN have comfort ride but full on exhaust and also turn on the exhaust noise button, so not sure where you're getting stuck. It only took a cpl minutes initial set up on mine 😕 And on the red belts and calipers, yeah, that's the only reason I bought a red one even though blue is my favourite color. You can spec black belts on order though. On #4, did you know there's a half version of the launch? Left foot on the brake, floor the accelerator and you get a launch at slightly lower RPM which is handy for traffic lights without the fuss 😃👍

You can't set the exhaust in individual. Whenever you turn into comfort or sport mode the exhaust always turns off but it's only one press of a button to get it loud again. The exhaust only defaults to loud in sport + but you do get pops and bangs in sport too

You could try wearing a red shirt, then the seatbelts wouldn't show :)

The seatbelt and dash issue could have been solved by going for the Premium interior rather than AMG Premium. I have black belts, full black seats, white contrast stitching rather than red and a matte dash without the Carbon effect on it. As for individual I use it all the time with it set to sport plus but also set to manual so I get all the noise but driven sensibly identical mpg to comfort. Only main downside of that is not being able to get stop start in anything other than comfort but I can sort of understand that.

Anyone had any problems with their A45 AMG 7 speed gearbox? Is there a software update for the 2013 models?

Wouldn't you set in Sport + mode and then simply adjust the suspension to comfort? If that is the biggest gripe you have with the A45, then that explains why I am more than happy with mine.

If you didn't know, where the belt buckle is on the passenger front seat inline with that there's and magnet that holds it in place so it doesn't flap about when driving.

Interesting video. Exhaust sounds good to be fair. I have a 2004 Volvo V50 T5 with uprated stainless system. It sounds fabulous and it has no modes, no trickery, it's pretty old skool but it flies, cackles and pops and is huge fun - I love it's simplicity. And it won't fail or break down like all this techno gadgetry. I love technology, but I prefer a simple car that requires the driver to do the work, not the computers.

Also, you get the exhaust pops with Sport mode, which isnt quite as harsh as Sport+

The red seat belts - we picked up on how annoying they looked on the test drive (reminded me of my 1988 MG Metro from years ago), so we optioned to have black ones fitted. That was a no cost option

Put it in sport mode, install cushion on seat, cut off seat belts, install harnesses, spray matt paint on dash job done...or drive an old banger for a couple of weeks and the Mercedes AMG will seem fantastic without any problems by comparison.

This is my first coment ever on youtube, but as I'm driving also the faceliftet A45 around Switzerland, I got some comments to your points: 1) I got mine now at 17.548 KM, put the selection in S (not S++) and you get the crackeling etc, I drive most of the time in S and manual mode, I have the crackling as soons as it is in S mode or higher 2) well, simply choos the S mode in individual, you got the loudness of the exhaust and the softer suspension, as far as I remember I can even select the suspension for the individual mode, so you can have the Shifting in S++ but the suspension in Soft, even if not (my configuration was long ago;-) ), is it so annoying to push the button after changing into individual mode? I do this everytime I'm starting the enginge as I always disable the S7S automatic until the car is in working temperature.. 3) ask MB to change them, its possible ;-) 4) please check the manual, also some posts on the internet, there are so much sensors which need to give their OK to have the launch control activated, also keep in mind this feature is FOR THE TRACK therefore it doesn't need to be set up fast a) the car needs to be in the right temperature b) you need to be in manual shift mode c)if there is a car around the doesn't matter I already tried it at a traffic lights, IT WORKS ;-) and remember, race starts are a torture for the enginge, clutch etc. thats also why it limits the avalable race starts for about 2-3 until the message appears you need to wait otherwise it will harm the car.. 5) well, yeah, you know :-) Even its an AMG its still the "cheapest" and will always be the "little one" so we have to deal with it, i like the look. and be honest, while driving this car we never look at the dashboard ;-)

Why do Mercesdes' always have 2 stalks on the same side of the steering wheel?

The Race Start will not work when either: the car is cold, the car is too hot, AC is on powerful or sometimes if you have the windows down, other than the last one which varies on different age cars it is protecting your car from blowing the turbo or damaging internals when cold!

When u r in comfort mode and the exhaust is open what it does is it just makes the car loud ... the crackle sound come only when the gears are shifting lightning fast which happens in S+ mode ... that's the difference.

You never seen the option to change the seat belts to black for free before you bought it? I've never had any issues with my A45 and launch control and I've done it at traffic lights, in tight country roads, etc.

I think lunch control will be distinctive when the water temperature is high, it probably has nothing to do with sensors.

Seat belts being red was more of a reason to wrap the car red. I feel as if blue is so popular nowa days it was a silly idea to make your car which is admittedly a very good looking car blend in with all the other people we see on KZread and around the roads. Naming a few, Yianni's new 488, Shmee's cars, Mr JWW's GT3...

God is it just me or is everyone in the UK obsessed with "crackles and pops", getting a bit tired at this point, there are so many better ways to make an exhaust tone sound good than just ricey ass crackling.

exhaust: install a custom turboback exhaust system and you get your rumble in any mode you want. seatbelts: go to Mercedes and let them install black seatbelts. launch control: you shouldn't be racing in urban districts anyway, but on track days there are other cars around you too, so I'll give you that. better read up on the required conditions for LC and try to cheat the ECU. fake carbon fiber: well, it's only an A-class. If you wanted real carbon fiber you should've gone for an E or higher.

To fix the exhaust just put in a capristo or akrapovic?

put on an armytrix exhaust on your car, you will be able to have your comfort mode with the valve control independant for the red seat belts that's the problem with the a45 if you don't order and configure your own car you won't be able to select black seat belts

the first thing about noise and sport mode is because of noise reglementation : a car should not do as much as noise but the trick is to have a mode you can only use on race track and not everyday roads... not the fault of mercedes. Howver I understand your disapointment
