    The orange predator suit was probably a special effects thing, like that's how it looked before they did the digital shit to make it invisible. They would normally use a green suit for that sort of thing, but they were in the jungle.

    No, it was actually the creature. The movie was supposed to be a throw away joke that they weren’t taking too seriously. Then they realized it was becoming a pretty cool movie so they better up the ante and make it a cool creature.JCVD got pissed that no one could see him do his stuff and quit so that added to the design change.

    @Alan Brando Joseph is actually slightly correct. The original Predator concept was inspired by a joke that Rocky sequels would eventually have to pit him against aliens because he'd already beaten Earth's best. It was devised as, if not a joke, a pulpy camp film - but the guy they eventually got on to produce had worked recently with Ahnold, brought him in on the picture and retooled the concept to be a more straightforward action thriller. As for, "Schwarzenegger wouldn´t make a joke movie.", that's the REAL horse shit because his first ever role was Hercules in New York. Granted, he wasn't a star then but that 'recent work' at the time that he was tapped from for Predator? It was Commando. And if you've seen Commando, you know it's a joke.

    Jabba the Hutt was always supposed to be an alien creature. It's just that "Irish Dom De Louise" was shot in the scene so that they could animate a stop-motion creature on top of him, but they ran out of money & the scene was left on the cutting room floor. And then, the orange suit that the original Predator was wearing was done that way to add the invisibility/cloaking effect later on. He had to be orange because the environment was green & blue, so it had to be a color not found in the jungle.

  • @JinFreeks

    @JinFreeks

    9 жыл бұрын

    pointing out a numerical difference is not a act of active thought, it's a automated reaction that any person subconsiously achievs if they read the title and don't have a handycap regarding their short term memory *thinking* about the why however takes a bit (not much, but a little) of brainpower instead of instently jumping to the smug conclusion that obviously someone was to stupid to count and only your supperiour intellect was able to spot this mistake

  • @uanime1

    @uanime1

    9 жыл бұрын

    JinFreeks Noticing that the title does not match the contents of the video is an example of active thought because you have to compare the title to the contents of the video. Regarding why this happened I suspect that it was because Cracked can't get their act together. Something I used my superior intellect to point out in my original post. Finally your attempts to jump to Cracked's defence, even through they were clearly wrong, indicates that you're motivated by being a fan boy rather than responding with any active thought.

    The Predator was red because they had to "key" him out of the scene for his signature Predator invisibility effect. They would usually use a "green-man suit" for something like this but the forrest is green so to make him stand out for the "keying" process they use the exact opposite color: red

    Quay Whitehurst Exactly. The whole thing about the Indiana Jones movies (the good ones, at least) is they have that one money shot of magical impossibility near the end, but the rest of the film is more or less plausible. Giving a character a robot arm sounds sweet on paper, but it would have totally changed the tone of the film.

    ACTUALLY, that jabba was originally just a place holder. That was a deleted scene in where they were trying to figure out a way to get han and jabba to walk together in the same scene, and since cgi didn't exist yet, it was a test run, and was later scrapped. The scene was later added in the 3000th remastered version, in which jabba is fully realized, in cgi form.

    Zach Couch I had a comic book as a kid that showed an alien Jabba. I assume it was based on what at the time was the design planned for the movie. It also was not intimidating. Jabba was best kept an unknown but threatening quantity until his reveal in RotJ. Lucas re-inserting that scene with a cg Jabba was yet another bit of evidence that Lucas has clearly forgotten whatever he once understood about making a good movie.

    Actually Lucas just hadn't thought about making Jabba a snail looking creature at that time, explaining why the guy is wearing the night's watch looking outfit. The scene was scrapped because all this scene explains was already in the Greedo scene, thus making this scene kind of unneccessary. When he had made Jedi and revisioned Jabba as the snail looking creature, he went back to this scene and thought: 'I can throw some CGI on top of that guy. Then Jabba will be in a new hope too! Brilliant!'

    The God Emperor It doesn't take the Kwisatz Haderach to realize that Lucas saw Jodorowsky's "Dune" storyboard and concept book and borrowed blatantly and heavily from it. The documentary called "Jodorowsky's Dune" explains how and when everything was made. Which kinda proves that a lot of the 70's Sci-Fi was somehow influenced by that film's pre-production.

    Corey Carnes That is one of my favourite documentaries of all time. Wouldn't it be great if someone released a facsimile edition of the "Dune Bible"!? Very puzzled as to what Jodorowsky sees in Nicolas Winding Refn, though. Their sensibilities as directors could not be further apart. Maybe he just likes the guy. It's a weird disparity to me, though, Refn's films are positively bland compared to Jodo's. Mind you, nearly EVERY director's films look bland next to his greatest productions!

    After seeing the alternative Woody and Buzz, I can't help but notice how ignored the concept of having multiple identical toys is for those movies, and that isn't even taking into account the toys that are technically different, but portray the same character. That would've been a very interesting thing to look into. All I remember seeing in that regard was a total of 2 main Buzzes in Toy Story 2. A confrontation between the Woody we know (and the rest) and this monstrosity would be really interesting.

    Thomas the Tank Engine also went through a design change when the reverend was writing book two. Originally, Thomas wasn't based on a real engine, just a small toy made for Christopher. The next artist after William Middleton (who wasn't Dalby) redrew him as an LB&SCR E2, which is what we have today. Still, he did look a touch like a J50.
