Really glad about the Unstable Mosquito mention, I've been really impressed by it since unlocking it. Been dying to run a necromancer/death knight style build but unfortunately a lot of the pieces I like feel a little undertuned, like the mace, Pestilence needing to be shotgunned for a lot less output than Chaos Volley, Ward of the Damned walling skeleton minions behind blocking attacks and those minions being extremely slow and telegraphed, Spectral Assassin having horrible tracking, but the Mosquito feels so versatile. Blocking shots like a pseudo barrier, viable for PvE with the AoE size, viable for melee builds with the debuff, great setup with weapon incaps. I hope they buff the mace a little so I can get a little better damage output while focusing on melee builds. Rogue is a fun blood type, especially with the 100% crit off of dash working with the mace Q. The pushing and control is great but the weapon doesn't feel fantastic once you try axes and slashers.

I totally agree with what you wrote. I really hope they nerf Axes and buff other weapons like mace a tiny bit. And in general we need some buffs on less used spells. I am hoping that they keep adding more spells and weapons and then rebalance them seasonally, so we get new things to play around with everytime a big content update hits

@@Teldo I'd like a little buff to the mace Q to play into the niche of the weapon with a singular big hit, E a small damage buff due to limited weapon skills but focus more on the incap utility, but especially making left clicks feel better to use would be my favourite mace buff. The reach it has and sound effects are great, it's just that horrid slowing effect for auto attacking for small payoff that I think makes weapons reliant on having big damage numbers on their abilities. Axe even fixes that with its own dash with the movement speed buff and still feels a little vulnerable to commit to using the full scale of its aggressive effect. Honestly, giving mace stronger autos as a trade off for E being comparatively low damage for an ability would be a style I'd love. More spells would be great, blood could certainly use some more unique ones because it feels like the tutorial school and chaos light, but I'd also love a little more nuance to the physical/magical split (though I'm not sure what the balance implications would be). There's a small selection of spells with direct melee impact, I think Mist Trance especially is cool, attack speed boosts a bit less so, but there's plenty of utility effects that weapon builds can employ. Travel skills are fine, but ults in particular feel weird being all magic flashy nukes no matter their flavouring. Mirror Strike is the biggest example, I love using it even though it has a few quirks, especially against bosses, but it's funny how it's straight anime swordmaster territory but doesn't benefit from Nightstone of the Beast or the potion of rage. Unholy could definitely use some other summoning spells. Actually, I'd love if corpse explosion summoned skeletons itself as an unconditional necromantic horde button. Three in the AoE, the fading snare might even help them land a hit. I'd happily take lowering its damage for that, because PvE wise it has a fine radius and a good damage number for multiple targets, but I understand that it's not overly popular in general so maybe it doesn't need to lose much.

I see unconventional spells like the mosquito one and I’m impressed already. Love the video! Subbed!

yeah u can stun some1 with slashers, spam "2" musquitos and than asap spear Q. The spear q will chain CC them and musquitos will do 2x damage, amplifying ur next dmg for 25% and spear Q with some decent rogueblood will shred them down even further. Can basically get ur enemy down to 35% HP (with frailed blood, equal GS).

Nice builds! I think the biggest problem with Chaos Volley (by the way you kept calling it Chaos Barrage, which is the name of the Ultimate) is that it's so powerful that unless you're really really good, there are few reasons not to use it, even though all of these builds are very interesting. I wish it gets nerfed real quick so we can start seeing even more interesting builds like this. By the way, am I the only one wishing more spells were designed like the Frost kit? Those abilities synergy so well together and create such a unique playstyle, I really hope we see more stuff like the Frost kit in the future

Thank you jiji, I agree that Chaos Volley is too strong, but I do actually think these other builds can hold up. In the open world I also enjoy running more defensive skills and try to Axe E or Slasher E a lot to set up bursts. Defensive skills are great if you're outnumbered. I also think Frost are the best designed spells and wish there were more synergies between spells and weapons. It all feels a little disconnected right now. If Chaos Volley gets nerfed I really do hope they also nerf Axe E. It's the one thing I have a serious problem with due to it's inconsistencies and it just being insanely powerful if you hit the incap.

@@Teldo I just tried the axes yesterday. I've been playing with the mace because of how satisfying it feels but noticed opinions of it needing a little help, and notice you didn't recommended it in any of your builds. Thought it's not so bad because of the mobility and control, but the incap could be longer. Then, I notice the axe throw does more than triple the damage with a whole 2 seconds incap time for easy combo setups, with its own dash that has movement speed to fix the bad feeling of auto attack movement speed, it just feels like there's a glaring imbalance between those two. As for frost spells, I loved the chill and freeze effects in Battlerite and think they're a great carry over, and the only issue with their design is that relying on each other to set up freezes sort of forces them to take up two or three of your ability slots. This isn't an issue for me because I love themed characters and don't even like being able to equip multiple schools if they don't thematically work for me or weapon swap on the fly for the best abilities, but it seems to run a little counter to the freedom in builds. Frost bat is definitely the best designed one in that respect with its two charges. I'm actually surprised that Crystal Lance doesn't do bonus damage to frozen targets to lean into the freeze shattering trope, though that would make the issue worse.

@@Teldo I don't think Chaos Volley will stay meta for much longer. Counters are insane at preventing it from being useful and it will just be a matter of time until melee pvp'ers realize they can burst down people with Chaos Volley extremely fast :). The game barely got out, so there's bound to be something everyone uses, because they are too used to playing PvE and it is strong in PvE.. Insanely strong in PvE and that's fine, Personally I run Chaos Counter + Power Surge in PvP, 'cos well.. Firing the Chaos Volley straight back in people's face is always a laugh as you can see they panic and then you can follow up by murdering them 'cos they are not prepared for melee

Hey, really nice video! Do you plan on making also a PVE builds video? Playing casually with some friends and would like to play something more interesting than chaos volley. I was doing something close to the healer build you showed.

Thank you very much. I thought about making a PvE Guide next. A general strategy on how to beat bosses and maybe I could add some build variations in as well. I'll start writing a script soon to flesh it out!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I can look into making a video like this. But the Hotbiscuit gameplay is honestly just us running around killing skulls and taking their loot, haha. For that PvP only playstyle it is important to collect some abilities like Chaos Volley, Chaos Dash, Chaos Charge ultimate. Otherwise you wanna rush the Frost Bat boss and get an early base going to make leather and planks. If you find an early bone weapon drop, you can collect fast Copper and get that smelting too. Then you basically want to get the same PvP abiltiies I mentioned earlier and kill the bear to get into the bandit fortress. You can rush it pretty fast and get to iron quickly

Thank you! If you're from EU you can join "fightclub" it's a duel server. I don't know about other regions, but I'd search for keywords like "duel" or "1v1" in the server browser and see what you can find

been using most these or variants, try my summoner/gank build! illusion skele, unholy bug, dagger incap bug first then skele spawn then spear q. u can also start with frost leap after incap then do the same thing and its guarenteed! with any good blood or pots popped end game its a guarenteed 1 shot. about 75% hp on average on duel servers 1v1. Hope you try it! Also its not bad in neutral either with all the summons / crossbow really opens people up from a safe distance:)

You’re playing bots. Cast cancel baits out shield and dashes + decent teammates running CC heavy build will make your spells easy to land.

Nice the 3 different builds i switch between are, freeze, chaos and bug. I have to get the bug on my new server

Nice! I have been playing mostly on fresh full loot servers for one evening each, so I haven't been able to use the spells I want as much in open world PvP. Really curious about how the bug spell holds up there

I'll look into it! Currently I like running a relatively uncreative build with Chaos Dash, Frost Barrier and Frost Nova / Frost Bats. I use the Frost Barrier jewel that lets you freeze targets on recast and on Frost Nova I have recast + freeze. And I try to kite a lot while setting up freezes for Spear Q bursts.

How do I cancel attacks, please? I have been using dash to cancel out of casting a ranged attack just from pure muscle memory from other games, but I know this is not correct and there should be an actual way to cancel attacks, or at least I was hoping there would be? Do you just hit the same input again maybe?

Awesome builds. Sad to see no Lightning, unholy or illusion builds tho… r they just not as viable or have people just not found what works yet? Cause you’d think with the extra effects jewels can give you, like having my lightning counter float people out of combat for a few seconds, there would be some spicy builds.

The default button is Mouse 4 (a side button on the mouse). You can rebind it in the settings. I do recommend leaving it on a mouse button, because you have to always have a finger on it to use it optimally.

Veil of Chaos and Chaos Volley are overrated ngl. You only have more movility and your shots give 2 oportunities to your enemies to activate counters.

I wouldn't say it's overrated, but I don't think it's as broken as some may say. I think chaos volley is the strongest, most versatile build. Double space is the strongest dash in general imo. Yeah the spirit and frost dash are usable too, but I think they're overall worse. The frost one can be used quite well in 1v1s to win trades, but in the open world I believe the extra flexibility of having a 2nd dash is incredibly valuable

@@Teldo I believe Shadowbolt is more versatile than volley, it does a slow that can be devastating if theres friendlies trying to hit him, and allows for easier CC chains, Chaos Volley does more damage if you hit both attacks (two chances of counters, again), but with the debuff, if you want maximum dps, you need to spread the hits so the ticks do more damage like Thorn's m2 in BR, but with Shadowbolt you can focus one modafoka freely (only one chance for counter). Then again, Frost Bat is more versatile than Shadowbolt; does decent damage, does a stronger slow that hits surrounding enemies and the target, and can freeze enemies; all this while being ranged, but has double the cooldown if you want the Freeze by using bat only, and has half the dps. I recognize that Chaos Volley has the best dps per ability in duels and teamfights, but i believe thats the punchline, what makes it special from the rest of the abilities in the game. I dont believe that just because something has the most damage is inmediatly the strongest thing, specially in a moba where theres CC, teamwork, and unjust situations. I personally prefer Veil Of Blood over double dash since i like sustain and hitting people down with basic attacks all day, which is what the dash is rewarding you to. In a straight up fight Veil of Chaos loses to Blood simply by healing (yes of course i need to watchout for the explotions, im not saying Chaos sucks im saying they are in the same level), if both hit their enchanced basic attacks Blood wins by sustain, and if both play safe and kite, blood wins if it hits since i can win the sustain game. But yes, Chaos is fun af i gotta admit. Also bro, one question, whats the server you were making duels on? I wanna play on it xd
