    1. Take all screens off with a 5 in 1 from all windows first in order and go wash them with window Brush and hosing off the screens and wiping edges and knocking off water. Than put each screens near the window it came from. I charge $2.50 a screen and always wash them as they hold lots of dirt, mold and pollen. When it rains the window will get dirty again if the screen is not washed. Most contemporary residential vinyl windows require you take the screen off and back on from the inside. Other screens that cover an entire windows I take loose the 2 clamps at the sill and take off from outside. Ladder w''s (Windows) are taken off from the inside and stacked in order outside to wash. 2. Wash all windows and frames with a window washing brush with dawn and water. 3. I use a triumph 6 inch scraper to get all bug and paint off while the window is wet 4. Re wet window 5. Wipe top edge squeegee window and one side if doing a side pull. On residential w's I don't usually fan the w's. We do very expensive high end homes and do not want to leave any squeegee marks. 6 Dry cloth wipe edges being careful not over rag the w's as that will leave dry rag marks. 7. Reinstall screen I only use 4 ought steel wool if I have oxidation or on the frame and sill to get stubborn mold stains off. Yours truly, Sterling Window Cleaning in North Georgia. Moral when the sun comes out and shines on your windows than you will know how good a job you really did. Same in life when the Son shines on your life at the end what will He see? Sin or shine?

Romans 3: 22-24 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Our righteousness is as filthy rags. What do you want Jesus to see when he looks at us, our sinful lives, or the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by faith? Put your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, not your own works. 1 John 1: 8-10 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Another good way to prevent dry streaks or smudges is to apply a decent amount of pressure from the squeegee to the window. I used to get very frustrated with these streaks because I knew I squeegees the window like a boss. Once I started applying heavier pressure to the window with the squeegee, left over streaks and smudges became a thing of the past. Also, I’ve never used the ragging the edges before squeegeeing technique, that will save me a lot of time. Thank you for the nice instructional video.

These are the five steps of window cleaning, high-rise people typically only use two of them, construction clean up dudes probably use six steps, if you've never cleaned the window before it's very important to have an Overkill video such as this one, and then calibrate based on the type of job you are doing, we do mid rise window cleaning up to 10 stories on 60-foot booms water fed pole and stuff like that, the title of the video was not "the fastest way to clean a window", But I'm sure if you are sending employees out to do high rise window cleaning you would never teach them with a video that was titled "the fastest way to clean a window"...

I have been cleaning windows over 20 years and you make it so much harder than it has to be. Rags and steel wool are completely unnecessary. Carry a scraper for paint or sap and other stuck on debris. Maybe one wet rag for wiping sills, dip, rinse and reuse. I understand not wanting call backs from sloppy work from employees but you just need to personally train them and work with them until they get it right.

Your 'extracter' tool can scratch the frames or puncture the screen, try a frosting spreader, it's smooth edges and rounded top do an excellent job of removing most screens from the outside. Are you doing an initial cleaning?Hope you charged accordingly. And polished? Funny. We use natural sponges instead of rags. Anyway I've been doing windows for over 30 years.I am a pro!!

porcupines lose their cotton way faster, dont obsorb as good, and one less step to use it on in and out instead of two different ones, porcupines also dont scrub 100% like steel or bronze wool so having more water retention is better if wool is needed anyway (EVERYTHING COMES OFF WITH US) its the only way to insure no call backs and high prices.... a lot for only ONE of over one hundred systems.... thats why every tool has multuple purposes and vital significance.... thanks for your input😊

I appreciate your thoroughness. I think too often, window washers can be thieves in the quality and value we offer in relation to how much many charge. Really, with experience, these extra efforts can be accomplished quicker and quicker, until it's not much slower than the typical "dusting" many window cleaners do. I'm curious about a couple things: 1) could you explain how the polishing prolongs the windows life? 2) what's your holster system? I'm curious about what you have holding the brush? Thanks for the great video.

  • @neiljohnson6017

Thank you for the reply. Sorry, I thought I heard you mention that the steel wool prolongs the life of the windows (If so, how does it do this?). Did you actually mean it prolongs the length of time it remains clean? That's what it sounds like from your response. I find the biggest exchange in accounting that my attention to detail does for me is removing my need to advertise. People notice the difference in our efforts, our attention and the final product compared to other window cleaners, so we retain clients and word spreads fast. We still make good incomes and pay the workers well. It's great to see the extra effort, done by another company. Thanks again for the video!

haven't watch this video in about a year but found the part where I said "this glass will last much longer" ... I'm pretty sure I meant the cleanliness of it, but when you keep glass cleaned there's less chance of debris like hard water minerals and stuff eating into the glass that can definitely harm it over time, steel wool polishing can rub off the buds of glass corrosion.

  • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706

you have to buy everybody a retractable scraper you would then have to have a system for trading out their blades every single day, when you have to be intimate with a single blade your ten times more careful and you're less likely to scratch the window, giving people retractable scrapers might be a good idea if they are highly trained with them, letting them have a simple small blade is like letting your kids run around the yard with bare feet it's going to help them be more careful of their surroundings...

Just getting into the finer aspects of this job ,your instructional video is worth watching twice ! Thanks Have the following observations , at the early brush down point could a paintbrush loosen additional dirt in the bottom track , this could be vacuumed out with a battery vac ( which are so good these days )

Dammit Josh! LOL there's a reason for everything and yes I'm going to now explain it to you... At each job there are several variables in which equipment chemicals water movement speed client temperament and the adjustability of your forces, I mean your crew LOL... I like to keep the water bucket simply a water bucket and only add a dash of Dawn dish soap while cleaning screens because if there is too much soap in the bucket you will be standing next to a screen forever trying to get all of the suds off, now the suds required to efficiently clean a window screen is about 10% of the suds required to clean a window, and so I add the dish soap directly to the mop with the amount that I want for the window, then dip it in the water quickly to give it a water load, now if you're working in doors you rinse out your bucket and have pure water sitting at the doorstep and high concentrated dish soap in your squirty bottle because you could always stop at a sink inside the home and water load when your two or three stories up away from your bucket, and your concentrated soap bottle is down in the bucket by the door, so much on the subject of Dawn dish soap LOL thanks for commenting...

I’m lost at some of the critical comments here. For one, it is extremely vital to be thorough and meticulous in training employees. Stressing quality and attention to detail sets the tone from the beginning of employment, and generates a level of pride in one’s work. Some people are short-sided and haven’t the slightest concept of client relations. Being ordinary and doing merely what’s adequate is not the best way to build long term relationships with clients. Extreme refinement and quality of work keeps those clients for a lifetime, and leads to referrals aka free sponsored marketing with high conversion rates, and the cycle continues. Every business owner has a choice: to be a Kia or to be a Mercedes-Benz.

A 24-foot ladder from Home Depot and adjustable ladder legs from J racenstein should get you to most 3-story windows. Also you could check out my video on how to clean three story windows from the interior you could also try water fed pole and just tell your clients you only use water fed pole for third-story Windows for safety reasons that's where I'm at now so you might as well just start there. To hustle up some money maybe just get a foldable ladder or something most people hire window cleaner cuz they can't reach their windows...

  • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706

We clean up to 10 story windows, but on the residential side it's only two stories this gives me maximum flexibility to focus on the commercial side while different subcontractors and employees can routinely rely on jobs that are not too big for them, the last thing I want is being called to a job where I have to bring my 32 foot ladder, if a client really needs a three story window done we tell them that we're going to use a water fed pole and do our best or take the window out from the inside, 95% of our jobs are two-story so why waste 90% of time on the 5% that we really don't want to mess with, thanks for commenting that was a very good question, I hope my answer was helpful

Then you must have really really really long fingers, You shouldn't clean residential windows with a pole unless it is interior or some type of Windows that does not have tough debris on it like bee pollen and stuff like that usually vaulted ceiling windows or Windows under good protection can be done with a wag tail but for sure not windows that people are going to walk right up to and see those need to be done by hand or water fed pole if maintainable, unless you're just really good at pole work, in which case you can use one of those bronze wool pads

Amazing detail, have you tried bronze wool? Doesn’t rust.

  • @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706

    @ccwindowcleaningllc.4706

    3 жыл бұрын

Bronze wool does not rust but only comes in a maximum of 000 you also have to put your credit card into a website, have a computer, have internet access, and then wait for the 000 steel wool to arrive, then you may or may not run out, when you have 160 different acquisitions to measure when running a company with several people you absolutely must minimize errors, expenses, and supplies, 0000 steel wool has the same abrasiveness as bronze wool 000, and I believe it is a little bit more abrasive because bronze tends to bend and steel does not, the true entrepreneurial genius of steel wool versus bronze wool is that if you have eight crews going on out there and you teach them all to type in "home Depot nearest to me" they can all find 0000 steel wool at any home Depot within about 20 or 30 minutes from them! of course if you're doing San Diego and you're in my neighborhood they are about 8 minutes away from any home Depot, So the acquisition of any type of abrasive wool never ever ever ever ever ever comes up Now if you multiply never never never never never times 160 different acquisitions you are then an entrepreneur and the world can function WITHOUT you, But eventually you may want to throw your guys some bronze wool lol.... Thanks for commenting on one of the 160.....
