    Thanks for this video and your selection of Chen Dynasty for a channel name. It will bring you GREAT SUCCESS! This is important because we don't learn enough about Ancient China in American schools (sometimes we don't learn anything at all) and it had a tremendous influence through inventions and trade with the rest of the world. You also reminded me that I made a promise to myself a long time ago that I would sit down and read the entire Romance of the Three Kingdoms books. I am ordering Volume 1 now.

    Great video. There are some minor inaccuracies. At 2:58, the video mentioned 姜子牙lived in accordance with Taoist teachings, where in fact Taoism wasn't invented until the late Period of Zhou by 老子 who worked as a librarian for Zhou royal court. 管仲 is not 羅貫中 at 4:34 and at 6:15, the latter is the writer of the Romance of Three Kingdom. At 4:45, the man in the purple robe is not 管仲 but 劉備 who was the founder of Shu Kingdom in late Han Dynasty. The charters beside him reads: If Bei (himself) has gained foothold, then the mediocre (the current rulers) are not worthy of being taken seriously. Great work!

  • @ingxiong

    @ingxiong

    5 жыл бұрын

    taoism was not invented by 老子. the first written script about it is attributed to a person supposedly bearing that name. however, the said person may or may not be historical. taoism started about four hundred years before 姜子牙, at least according to the legends, as it is said that he went to study from a master of the way of the heaven and earth, who was the eldest disciple of the first human who became an immortal, 400 years ago.

    Ivan Chen No, he was not. Cao Cao is actually born from a prominent family, where his ancestors had served as high as one of the San Gong ( literally translated in english as Three Duke, which is the three highest ranks one can get in Han Dynasty ). In the Han Dynasty, there was no civil examination unlike in the later Chinese dynasty, instead, people get to work in the government through a Recommendation System which is basically controlled by the powerful family of the high-ups, and Cao Cao is one of those that get recommended to be an civil servant because of his fame and family influence. In conclusion, he is no way close to a peasant, fyi.

    I think you should drop the "The" in Chen Dynasty, because "the" sounds out of place. It's like facebook vs The facebook. "The" in any youtube channel's name doesn't sound good.

    Mami Burger it’s not like the Facebook. It’s more like. The United States of America. The Great Britain You add the for something important “The” is an article and to add an article that item has to be specific. Facebook doesn’t have to be specific

    Awesome video. You should put the time periods in next time. It would really have given Hua Tuo context for how smart he was (to try and perform surgery before surgery was "a thing"). Sweet video, though.

    Zhu Geliang was definitely not as good as everyone thinks and does great disservice to other top figures during that time. Cao Cao is who I consider the best all round figure in management, strategy, and physical ability. In strategy, you need to be cunning and be able to predict what other people will do. The best were Zhou Yu, Guo Jia, Jia Xu, Pang Tong, Sima Yi. Zhu Geliang, at best, was a great inventor, loyalist, and a great country manager.

    Zhuge Liang 🙌🏻 Not going to lie, Dynasty Warriors is what brought me here. I grew up with the games, but only recently realized that they are based somewhat on history. It is so fascinating! I want to visit Zhuge Liang's temple someday- and Cao Cao's grave. Thanks so much for sharing this! (P.S.) My newest mermaid character is going to be based somewhat off of Dynasty Warriors. Would love to pick your brain on some things someday 😄🖤

    Thank you so much for having Chen Dynasty. When I was younger, I remember going to Memphis, TN to see Great Emperors of China traveling exhibit. I really lo'ed seeing how they compared with what was going on in China with the rest of the world at the same time. unfortunately it seems as though the education of Asian countries is very lacking in the U.S.
