5 Small Changes to Improve Your Presentations Forever!

In this video, I dissect real slides from top consulting firms like McKinsey, Bain, and BCG to reveal 5 easy techniques you can start using today to take your presentations to the next level 📈
1️⃣ Contextualize Your Data:
Never share a data point in isolation. This helps you control the story and keep your audience engaged.
2️⃣ Master the SCQA Framework:
This framework is the backbone of every MBB presentation and it's a surefire way to structure your slides for maximum impact.
3️⃣ Embrace the Pyramid Principle:
Start with your conclusion and then present your supporting arguments.
4️⃣ Color with Purpose:
Whether it’s using contrasting colors to differentiate data points or choosing a color palette that reduces cognitive load, intentional color choice can make your slides pop.
5️⃣ Know When to Table It:
Charts are great for trends and comparisons, but sometimes you need a table to show precise values or a mix of different data types.
🎉 *Bonus*: Get extra mileage out of free tools like flaticons, colorhunt, and slides carnival to elevate your presentation game without sweating the details.

    Great point about the use of color but we also need to ensure accessibility. 8% of the global population is color blind. It is important that color is not the only way to communicate and that content stands out and is easy to read even in greyscale. So keep the color but test your slides in color blind mode to ensure there is a lot of contrast and combine the use of symbols or patterns in the presentation of data.

    I like the input, there are certainly valid points I will try to consider in the future! The only thing I dislike about consulting presentations are that it seems to be modern to put complete sentences, results or statements in the headline of a slide. I just cannot do this as it annoys me every single time. There should be a brief 1-3 word description whats on the slide instead of 1 or even two full sentences. But maybe thats just me...

  • @JeffSu

    @JeffSu

    9 ай бұрын

    So unfortunately 😅 I would have to say I like how the consultants do it. Headers should technically be standalone sentences that tell the reader what the point of the slide is 😁

    Hi Jeff, I do have a question regarding using the SQCA and Pyramid Principle in my workflow. I have a weekly report wherein I have to report on the operational health of the team. I have to list their metrics week-on-week. How do I incorporate the SQCA framework with this? And how do I then use the pyramid principle? Would an SQCA like this work? Situation: Team is doing well Question: How well is the team doing Complication: Here are the low performers/problems that occured this week Answer: What I'm gonna do to solve this
