True. Started this regimen last year during the lockdown. It works. You have to be patient though because of initial purge from tretinoin where acne seems to get worse. Mine took 3 months before the purge subsided. My sister’s purging period lasted 6 long months. She almost give up. Good thing she perseveres.

Actually Differin is supposed to used every day, even if you don’t have any more acne. It’s just like using RetinA everyday for anti-aging and cell turnover. Retinols are basically the only thing that have stopped my cystic acne and cleared my face.

@@With_Talia I'm sorry, but I really hate when people say to use something "natural", as if chemically synthesized ingredients are bad for your skin🤦🏻‍♀️ There's nothing wrong with using adapelene for a long period of time, if it really was, they would tell you, like hydroquinone for example. Differin has a hydroquinone serum, and tells you to use for no more of 3 months or so at a time. If the Differin gel is the only thing that keeps your acne at bay, then keep using it!

Thank you so very much for this video Fel💗. I can’t explain why I am so emotional about my hormonal acne filled/ irritated skin.. I have been obsessed with learning about skin care for the first time in my 32 years and my previously neglected skin is telling me to go back to the basics to rebuild my skin barrier. We are really struggling financially and trying to find focus on how to pick affordable but really effective products has been a major stressor.. I feel like my skin ‘type’ just completely changed and I am relearning my skin. This was just so encouraging! When I can I will still seek out a derm but this gave me some confidence and encouragement that it will be ok☺️

I had the sameeee acne issues! Bad, painful, lumpy, red, sometimes warm to the touch acne. It was so embarrassing for me to work in retail and have to help people. I suffered for yearssss dude. A BIG thing that helped me? Getting new pillows. Not just pillow cases (that could help too), but whole new pillows! I was using the same old pillows for a while and as soon as I washed them deeply, my acne changed up in like a week! I ended up just buying new pillows 😆 I still have acne around those areas, but not as bad as I did before. Way easier to make go away/control and not too difficult to cover up if I needed to. Other tips: drink way more water and tea - exercise regularly (even if it’s only for 30min. Just sweat a little!) - doing things that lessen my stress levels (I was highly stressed when I had the worst acne) -get some sun in your life (but wear sunscreen!) - drink less coffee or coffee with little to no sugar and cream. I used to drink lots of coffee when my acne was bad bc I had a busy schedule and it was one thing that made me happy during the day (kinda sad but whatever). When I stopped for 2-3 weeks, my acne lessened!

Eating better and drinking more water and way less coffee has really helped me. I still get acne, esp around my period, but it’s far better than my early and mid 20s. I’ll be 28 this year and I’m going to try to get an rx for Tretinoin (spelling?). I know there’s a purge that goes on, some ppl here say for one month, one person said 6! But that short amount of time (and yes, it’s short!) is worth it if I can look younger for longer and be more confident in my skin! Simple is better! Edit: Also regularly cleaning your blankets, pillow cases, towels and changing those out helps a lot. I also deep washed my old pillows bc and my skin changed up in like a week (after I saw that change, i bought new ones lol). So, I blame a lot of my acne then on just poor hygiene for a while...that was bad and gross on my part haha. So glad I learned

Cerave cleanser & daily moisturiser (i use foaming cleanser really massage it in both my face neck and upper outer arms where i have kp and thats just one pump worth and let it sot for a minute or so while i brush my teeth or soap up and shave my underarms etc then i wash it off under the shower and use my hands to make sure ive really thoroughly rinsed and then i get out of the shower and while i clean my glasses my face dries a little not a lot its still damp and a little misted thats when i do one pump of cerave daily moisturiser and do two strokes under my eyes and then pat my cheeks and forehead and then start rubbing it in and then use the last residue on my neck and outer arms. I saw results literally overnight my skin felt sooo soft and bouncy and smooth and i had to force myself to stop touching it. Ive been using it for a week now the smallest bottles are about 10 to 15 dollars in austraia for about 250ml thats all ive used besides spraying the odd bit of water on my face on top since i live in australia and its dry af but yeah ive used cosrx good morning cleanser and the aha bha toner before with amazing results but even cerave might be better and i can get it here and ive just recently ordered the ordinary from adorebeauty there niacinamide zinc bottle and also the 5 percent lactic acid just to try because ive heard amazing things and i wanted to try them out havent arrived yet but yeah skincare reddit is your best friend read as much as possible and youll see reoccuring products and brands and then look into them and see if those products could be good for your skin. And of course drink water eat healthy as much as you can and use sunscreen the highest spf is best and make sure its broad spectrum to cover uva and uvb rays. But yeah just give your skin a total detox skin wise for a day or two just clean with water and then use a new cleanser once a day then after a day or two add the moisturiser and when those work well today without any reaction use them both twice a day and also look into a supplement vitamins preferably get a blood test from your soctor to look for any deficiencies and get them to print out the results so you can see your levels and decide what would be good to increase. Overall add a handful of raw nuts a day and a piece of fruit and a small bowl of veg like broccoli with melted cheese or pumpkin soup (pureed pumpkin and vegetable broth) something like that and youll do amazing.

Cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen is the base. It's good to start out simple and not try to many things at once until you've built the base of your skincare routine. If you need something affordable CeraVe works well, if your skin is sensitive (gets red, burns, allergic/bad reactions) I would recommend avoiding salicylic acid, retinol, and benzyl peroxide as those can be added later and are good for acne prone & oily skin types (though my personal experience hasn't been to grate with benzyl peroxide so I'd suggest caution with that one). Sensitive and/or dry skin will work well with the CeraVe hydrating cleanser its super gentle & also good for neutral/"normal" skin (when in doubt choose the safe option peeps). If you are acne prone or have some problems with skin texture CeraVe SA smoothing cleanser works well, and for moisturizers the CeraVe moisturizer for "normal" to oily, is also really great. These are things that have worked for me and I've tried. I'm not a dermatologist or anything, if something doesn't work for your skin it's totally normal since different peoples skin can react in different ways, even to the same products. I found CeraVe products to be a good base; very gentle and non-irritating, but I always used spot treatments or different products along with them to fix my other troubles. There are tons of informative videos on KZread about skincare, skin type, specific brands, affordable brands, etc. (Sorry I don't know anything about the Krave match cleanser.) Also, sorry that was long and all over the place but I've been there done that with a fair amount of products/ingredients and trusted the wrong person with my skincare (love my mom but she had perfects skin all her life lol "random body lotion will work," she said, "it's the same as face lotion", she said....)

Oh, I forgot sunscreen. Sunscreen during the morning even if you don't wash your face in the morning, when I was young (so like a few years ago lol) I just splashed some water in my face in the morning, but I always washed my face at the end of the day and that worked while I was young and my skin wasn't so oily (cries). Sunscreens from CeraVe can have quite a white cast and be difficult to blend so they aren't my favorite but they're not bad, Neutrogena Sensitive skin spf 60 is a good one and about $8.97 or something it does have some white cast but it sinks in easily and disappears on pale to medium skin tones. It might be difficult to find a good one that leaves no white cast on darker skin tones :( . If I got anything wrong or anyone has a different experience feel free to correct me I'm not a skincare professional by any means.
