Contractions. Period cramps for me feel like actual contractions. No one should feel like this every month.

And lm going out on a limb here… and be that “feminist 🙄” here. And venture to say… If this were a man’s health issue! We would more then likely have a cure by now. If nothing else! It certainly would not be taking an average of 7 freaking years! For 1 out of 10 man! To get a proper diagnosis! Sorry Angry mamma bear here! Who has been watching her daughter suffer! For exactly 7 years now! Before any “doctor” ever even entertained the idea of endometriosis! And even then! WE! Diagnosed her symptoms! And educated ourselves here on you tube! Thanks to brave women like you! Happy to report she’s booked for surgery in 2 weeks! Thanks for sharing.

Yep, i've been to the ER 10 times for this because I couldn't stay conscious & was throwing up while i was passed out. They told me i appeared as though i was in labor, but i just had "bad cramps". Only to find out down the line that i have endo. Most doctors are useless imo.

Every period is different for me. Sometimes I'm so sick and weak I can't even eat. Sometimes I have diarrhea and vomiting. Then sometimes it's only pain and it's tolerable. Once I was in so much pain I couldn't walk.

Same, my flow is SUPER heavy, have trouble walking, and usually break out in a cold sweat from the pain. It’s the absolute worst.

I have endometriosis (from genetics) It's not easy.... I had to go to the hospital twice in a week 1) My cramps were too painful to the point where I couldn't walk and I cried 2) I had a stomach virus at the same time and couldn't eat any food and had to drink water and Powerade I'm scared that I won't have kids when I'm older cause I love kids and I want my own someday......I just hope this doesn't get in the way of that

I do this regularly and have always thought it was normal.

It's kinda messed up how much women are told to just deal with the pain cause it's expected and that's that. I dealt with pain during intercourse (especially bad the 2 weeks after a period) and thought that was normal. Makes me so sad to think about it now and now other young women expect and accept that to be the case :(

Probably due to the overall perception that periods are tantamount and casually expected to be associated with pain and discomfort. The truth is that pain and discomfort can vary drastically between person to person, and women who get extremely uncomfortable periods should be encouraged to talk to a doctor.

Estrogen based birth control makes the endometrial tissue grow faster and hurt worse. The only option is IUD and that only works 50% of the time

@@rkamalesh17 have you put a hormonal IUD in yet? I just got mine in two months ago and it's a lifesaver. No more cramps! I was seriously on the verge of committing suicide because of how painful they were, and now i have my life back.

I haven’t been diagnosed, but I remember when I went into labour with my first baby I kept thinking *ok when is it going to start properly hurting*. Same experience with my second labour. The thing is, the pain of childbirth was NOTHING compared to the excruciating pain I had every month on my period before having children. For me, pregnancy and prolonged breastfeeding have kept me pain-free for five years, but I’m scared about the pain returning after I’m finished nursing my last child.

@@fredarh I guess that's the one benefit to these painful periods then, we already get a sense of what labor feels like, hopefully minus the puking/ diherra because the cramps are so bad.

The worst part is that obgyn's don't seem to be very educated on diagnosing it, like AT all! I saw 2 different gyn's and they both told me I don't have endo. They said if my cramps are controlled with motrin, means i can't have endo (i know, stupid). Then I came to a gyn with a freakin endo Cyst, and she STILL told me it's not endo and that it will go away. At that point I diagnosed myself and went to an endo specialist, and sure enough, Stage 4. But important to note, I'm mostly assymptomatic! Aside from 1-2 days during period, I had no pain. So don't let pain be your indicator. If it wasn't for my cousins cyst rupturing and her being diagnosed with endo, I probably wouldn't have ever gone to the doctor to get checked and to this day wouldn't know.

I feel like I might have it honestly. I’ve had cysts on my ovaries and I have all 3 points Ayla first mentions in the video. I remember telling my OBGYN that I’m in pain around the pelvic area a lot and all my other symptoms too, and you know what she said??? She told me I probably have gas. GAS. I was so upset and haven’t gone back in awhile, she’s the only OBGYN I can afford tho.

I went to the gynecologist today and she told me from what Im hearing you most likely have endometriosis. So at that moment I was like okay. But Ive been thinking and watching multiple videos and now Im realizing all the "red" flags and im crying because I finally know what's going on. I actually got diagnosed by surgery, but it's because my doctor wasn't sure because I was so young at the time. I've just recently been finding more and more people talk about it and it's been great! It's nice to know so many other women know exactly what you're going through. Thank you!

What surgery did you get?

I’m 16, and I have been showing signs of endometriosis for a year now. A month ago I went to the E.R because I had excruciating abdominal pain for 9 hours straight and the problem was undiagnosed. My gyno didn’t want to diagnose me or even consider me having it because I’m young, so she put me on antibiotics. The antibiotics did nothing, and she doesn’t know what is wrong with me, so she put me on birth control and I have no other choice but to take that or try to see another gynecologist.

Kristen I went through the exact same thing so my mom got a referral for a doctor who's delt with those with Endo and said I probably have Endo. don't be afraid to look for a second opinion cause it's never a bad idea to have multiple opinions

I've been having signs since 7th grade (13 years old) and now I'm 17. 4 years and it has just gotten worse. Throughout the 4 years I've seen a bunch of different types of doctors and have done tons of tests. They said I have IBS (which is common to confuse endometriosis with because it can grow to your intestines and mess with your bowls) they gave me a bunch of different types of pills to try and nothing worked. Another thing is I could eat an apple one week and be fine and eat an apple the next week and have IBS symptoms (the inconsistency leads me to feel that IBS is not the problem) not only this but I get really bad pain in my bladder when it is full. I got a sonogram done last year and went to the gyno and she said I was fine and probably didn't have endo. She prescribed me to birth control. I stopped taking it because all it did was make me nauseas to the point where I couldn't eat. My symptoms were calm for a while but now they're all coming back full force. The doctors make you feel crazy, as if you just have all this pain for no reason or that it's normal?? You truly need to be your own advocate with this. (Btw I have way more symptoms than this, my bowl issue is just what led me to see a specialist in the first place )

this kinda scares me though? I might have endometriosis because of constant side pain + nausea during my cycle. I went to a doctor once (I'm fifteen) and they basically just told me "your uterus is crooked so it's normal." but the amount of pain I go through, even when I'm not on my cycle, seems like it can't just be "normal". younger women are always seen as overreacting and it's frustrating

@@gemmybunny I feel the same way! I saw a gynecologist last week and they think it's endometriosis for sure but the only way to diagnose it is through surgery. And my gynecologist doesn't want to do surgery right away. So they put me on birth control to help manage my symptoms and we are going to go from there

Why is everyone not taught about this in school?!? Kind of frustrating. Fully support you and anyone with this condition and I want to help get the word out!

THE DOCTORS KEEP PUTTING OFF MY PAIN. I’ve had so many ultrasounds and CT scans I could scream. They just say see a different doctor. I go to a general and they say see an OBGYN but then that doctor says see a general. Then the doctor says see this specialist and the specialist sends me right back without doing anything new. My pain is real and the doctors shrugging it off has made the people in my life think it’s nothing too because you’re supposed to trust doctors more about your health than your actual self right? NO. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. Why do people have to fight with even DOCTORS for actual help??

All tests are normal so I made an app with a endo specialist for tomorrow because my work wants me to go back to work but i just can't. I really hope she can help me...

I don't know if I have endometriosis but I have always had very painful periods to the point I couldn't go to school and I would get very sick to my stomach I have a period one time where anytime I moved I would be sick and I have heavy bleeding. I always thought it was normal until I talked to other women who have actually normal period like my best friend she doesn't even hardly have cramps. I'm terrified that I can't have a baby cause my husband wants to start a family.

Honey, get an IUD in ASAP. It freezes the Endo where it is and saves your fertility if you're still fertile. (also it takes away the pain)

its funny how severe pain during periods in society is so normalised. Like i'm crying out for help cause its so excruciating but everyone around me is like, "it happens to every woman, just deal with it". Its not Normal!

THANK YOU so much. I feel the exact same way with my period, always thought i was being overdramatic and my family thought i was too. However the first day of my period is almost a sure sign that i will throw up from the pain. Once my friend got diagnosed with pcos and endometriosis shes known me for so long and told me I had the symptoms as well it kind of clicked so i recently made an appt to talk to my obgyn, but thank you for talking about your experience and validating my feelings.

just got diagnosed with endometriosis 2 days ago. went to a gyno and finally told her all the stuff going on and she's inmediately like oh honey thats endo (because i've been on multiple BCPs for undiagnosed issue, also on a longterm NSAID, both dont work) and finally told her just how bad my periods are/were (puking like all the time on my period, cramping when i pee, chronic pain and fatigue all the time but worst a week before period, hip problems, lower back problems, irregularity, horrible bloating) so now i'm being treated and thank god. there's so much i didn't know wasn't normal and is because of endo!

Thank you for sharing! I would also like to add that infertility with endo isn't always as simple as not conceiving at all. I struggled with recurrent miscarriages and Carrying my girls to term while on bed rest or modified bedrest. I was lucky enough to start having children at a younger age when my Endo was in the early stages, it was extremely difficult to conceive them and it only got harder as the years went on. It wasn't until my laproscopic tubal that my doctor discovered that I had endometriosis. If I had waited until now to start having children, I'm positive I would have never been able to do it without IVF. I was racing a clock and didn't even know it. My Endo only really started to get more severe this last year and I can't even leave the house for the first 3 days of my cycle. I would never have thought I would have endometriosis since I wasn't entirely infertile, I just struggled majorly. I was a big shock to me, although it made a lot of sense after the shock faded away and started to think about it because I had the symptoms for years, I too just thought it was normal.bv

I am 22 and I have endometriosis. It actually is genetic and runs through my family and unfortunately, I am the only one out of my 3 sisters who got it. I missed my period for months on end, like sometimes it would last 8 months. I have serious cramps and pains that are so crippling that sometimes I almost faint or keel over. I have been brought to the doctors before when I use to think it was my chronic dehydration (another condition I have). I also spotted during the middle of the month and it would randomly stop a day later and not come back for months. I bled way more than most people. I go through a pack of 48 in not even two cycles. I even have severe pain randomly throughout the month that are sometimes even worse than than the period cramps. Knowing that I could've been diagnosed sooner and prevented risks for myself. Even worse is with my family endometriosis, my cousin who has it can't have kids. I hope you all take my warning and get checked if you have even the slightest sign because you never know.

Wait... I haven't been able to see a doctor cause of my health insurance problems and what not... but, you're not supposed to go through over 45 tampons in one cycle? I have all the other symptoms for endo n stuff, just haven't been in.

Ibuprofen is the ONLY thing that helps my pain,I have to take it every 6 hours during those 4 days :(

Same but drs say it’s harmful in the long run (i think it can cause endometriosis to increase) so I’m opting for other painkiller options even if they don’t numb the pain

i have 800 mg ibuprofen and it’s the only NSAID that puts me to sleep when i’m on my period.

I definitely thought I had endometriosis, but I heard that the pain lasts for multiple days. For me, I only have pain for the first day of my period. But it is to the point of me not being able to get up without passing out. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. It’s so frustrating

Now you have to remember there are diagnosed in stages so you may have it but it could be a much lower stage.

Mine last 5 to 7 days. First day is kind of painful. But ibuprofen does the trick. I had asked doctors if it was possible for me to have endo because we were having trouble getting pregnant. I was told no and dismissed because I didn't have the pain. 2.5 years into infertility and seeing multiple doctors, we finally went to a fertility specialist. That was the first time I was offered an internal ultrasound. They found two large ovarian chocolate cysts. Two months later, I woke up from my surgery to find out I had stage iv endo that was growing on and working it's way through my diaphragm in 100 spots. My experience is so different than the normally diagnosed experience. Aside from infertility, I probably wouldn't have discovered mine until my lungs collapsed.

Mine is the first day too! But it can last up to five or six hours and medication does nothing. I also throw up and get diarrhea and cold sweats. Last time I threw up blood

Since getting off birth control pills, I have been experiencing progressively more painful periods. I recently went to a specialist, who suspects endometriosis. After researching, and reading about other women's experiences, I wouldn't be surprised. All my symptoms seem to fit. It is overwhelming and scary at first, but my faith sustains me. I am now looking for more information, and support groups. Thank you for sharing! It helps.

I’ve struggled with painful periods for years. Like I would sit in the bath with straight hot water, and that only help to an extent, constantly sick to my stomach and even passing out from the pain. Finally seeing a doctor and getting some help! I’m praying we can find a way to make it more manageable

I was diagnosed in 2013 and all the symptoms. my case was quite severe. I've had 3 surgeries and my doctor asked if I ever plan on getting pregnant. I told him no. he said that I should think about having an IUD put in place. he said it would really help with my symptoms and since I don't want kids, I could get on and it would last about 10 years. I had the surgery and had the IUD put in in 2019. 3 years later and I am period free, and pain free. I am amazed at how it took my symptoms from the absolute worst, to having no more symptoms at all. I really recommend women having an IUD if their pain and other symptoms are so severe that they can't even function( which where mine was). it's totally worth it.

OMG, after you talked about the annoying bowel movements and the pain than I must check if I have endo because I have been in pain for many years and taught it was IBS and it gets worse on my periods. I get chronic insomnia because of it and the doctors say they find nothing and I have to live with it!

I’ve had basically all of those symptoms for the past 2 years the pain is terrible I couldn’t even move without having to cringe in pain, trying to walk is terrible especially trying to go to the bathroom, and my job I have to move around a lot which results in me taking. A heavy amount of pain killers which I know is destroying my insides even more but there isn’t any other option. I’ve recently tried to tell my mom but of course as soon as I try to tell someone about it they don’t believe me. The pain just keeps getting worse and there isn’t anything I can do to stop it.

Was legit hospitalised for severe cramps the other night. There was a woman on my ward who was diagnosed with endo and I related to her so much. We kinda bonded over the fact that we were in so much pain. I've been trying to get answers for 3 years but they wouldn't do a laparoscopy but when I was discharged last night, the hospital gynae said my normal gynae will know about the admission and should be putting me on a waiting list now when I see her. To finally have doctors believe me feels so, so good. I'm still really ill but they've discharged me with some pain relief and a plan to see my gynae sooner than I would have so here's hoping.

Such a good video Ayla! Bringing awareness to endo this month is awesome. Also kind of mind blown at these symptoms, because I've definitely experienced several of these things. Might have to look more into it for sure.

i have so many symptoms of endometriosis and they’ve progressively gotten worse over the past five years. i’ve been tested for blood disorders, cancer in my blood/reproductive organs, cysts, even STDs/STIs, and put on birth control to help the pains and bleeding. all my tests came back fine and the birth control no longer helps me. coming to the placebo pills in the packs is painful to think about. i’m going to discuss this with my gynecologist and hope he helps me find out what’s going on. thank you for opening up about this:)

I've never been diagnosed but I'm starting to look into Endo and getting checked out. I get sick everytime I start my period because I'm in so much pain. Sleeping on the bathroom floor is not fun.

I was still in doubt about me having endometriosis because on my days I suddenly get a very very sharp pain, like it got to the point I had to sit on the toilet for almost one and a half an hour, I'm heat intolerant so I feel like sweating and burning like I would literally strip off all my clothes and feel like shaving off my hair because it was so annoying at that moment, I couldn't even talk nor shout. And after when the periods were over, I have this slight pain on my left pelvic and I just get so frustrated that after all the suffering, I have to handle this as well like it's so bad :/

god this is so necessary, thank you SO MUCH for this video. for as long as i have remember, on the first and sometimes second day of my period, my cramps have been EXTREMELY PAINFUL for about 4 hours straight to the point where i always, without fai,l vomit multiple times from the pain. i mean i am on the floor yelling and writhing in pain and only moving to vomit... for hours. i have spoken to my mum about this once but have been reluctant to do so ever again, since her reaction was to yell at me and call me 'pathetic' and 'self pitiful', saying its just normal and i need to get over it. well ive had enough and ive decided im going to go to the doctors about this. thank you

my period is painful but only on the very first day. i vomit, my lower back, thighs, stomach areas are painful and i cry from pain 😭 but the rest of the days are normal and i feel nothing!! also some months i skip this painful day but idk what causes it to skip.

Never used to have cramps or painful periods before I turned 19. My biggest symptom I've noticed and is always there when it's the time of month is extreme pain in bowels. Almost as if I was giving birth again.

my pains were so bad it felt as though I was giving childbirth every.single.day my period was on. There was excessive, excessive bleeding as well. TMI but I changed my tampons+pad combination every 10-15 minutes and it lasted for 2+ months at a time--up tp 6 months with the doctors saying get on birth control which never helped. After watching this I will be getting checked for it! Thank You!

I know it’s easy for me to say but I struggle with really bad period cramps that make me weak feel nauseous give me headaches but I have noticed if you relax and ignore the cramp it isn’t as bad obviously it’s still painful but just relaxing and not clenching really does make a difference.

Ive had very painful periods for a few years now and ive only recently gathered up the courage to speak to my doctor about it because the pain was getting unbearable and seemed to be worse each month. I didnt want to go to a doctor for such a long time because most people told me it was normal and every girl delt with it so I should too. The tipping point for me was when i was on my period during my junior cert exams and was in so much pain I didnt finish the exam and went to the nurses office where she told me I was dramatic and called my dad to pick me up, he drove me to the doctor and the doctor recommended we go to hospital but he refused to drive me because it was only a period. Now im seventeen and i can finally call my own doctor myself so i told her all my symptoms and she said it is most likely endo. Please call a doctor, excruciating pain during or even outside of your period is not normal no matter what anyone tells you!

I've been in bed for the past 24 hours straight due to intolerable back pain and stomach cramps. The stomach cramps come and go, and when they're bad I cry. I can't stand up for too long without feeling very dizzy. I'm fatigued, and have been lying down all day. The stomach cramps are so bad I've barely eaten at all in the past 24 hours, and my period hasn't even started yet it's supposed to come in 1-2 days. Please help, I don't know if this is endometriosis or not.

Србомбоница I use to take ibuprofen but it's too harsh on my stomach, liver, & pancreas. So my doctor recommends Tylenol. I've been taking Tylenol for 7 years now and it works for me. The extra strength Tylenol of course🙂

I'm diagnosed. I suffer everytime like I was stabbed into my abdoman. I have it on my digestive System, my ovis, everywhere... But I'm happy awareness months of both my chronic diseases right after the other. Support Endo March and Autism April!😘

I was just looking around trying to find out why my period cramps were so bad to the point that I can't move and I cry when they happen. I cramp 1-2 weeks before my period and it gets even worse while on my period. I get really bad gas pain also so it doesn't help, I didn't know endometriosis was a thing but now that I know what it is, I definitely feel like I need to go see my doctor.

thank you. I lost a job due to not knowing I had endo. I am without insurance now so I have to figure out how to get help. The doctors never even mentioned endo or tried to help.

I had pain since 2011. I got my laparoscopy Friday the 7th February 2020, where the endometriosis specialist found endometriosis behind my uterus and near my bladder. She removed it with laser (ablation)

I’m currently having really bad side pains and I’ve had 2 ultrasounds and 2 ct scans with contrast and been to 2 doctors and the ER for my pain and basically they said that it’s probably endo and there’s nothing they can do for me. So I’ve been doing research on it and it makes sense. My whole life I’ve had the most painful periods and lay in my floor balled up and crying because it hurts so bad and been told that I’m just a baby and don’t have a high pain tolerance and to deal with it. Here recently I’ve gotten and iud and my pain has gotten worse and I am in the most pain I’ve ever been in and nobody can tell me anything and they are basically just like oh well nothing I can do for you.

My period has been so heavy that when I stood up blood started dripping down my legs. The only one of the symptoms you mentioned that I don't currently have is infertility. No doctor that I've talked to will do surgery because of my weight.

@@jaymeemaqueira8877 I do not want surgery. For one i live in an apartment on the fourth floor with no elevator, so that wouldn't be good. For two i want another baby in the next year or so which wouldn't be possible if i got surgery.

My period got suddenly and significantly worse like 2 years ago. The period before was normal like 3 or 4 days long and very light bleeding (that was my normal before). The month after it was so bad i was in so much pain i couldnt walk and it lasted like 6 or 7 days. Doctors just say periods change but it doesnt seem like it would be that drastic. The periods after that were like that too maybe a little less intense ( that could ve because i got use to it).

I’m 16 and I was diagnosed three weeks ago. My mum took my to a specialist obgyn a few weeks ago after I called her crying lying in fetal position on the floor where I had been for about 30 minutes. ( nothing helped the pain ) a few days after the dr diagnosed me I was in hospital having surgery to remove it. The endo was every where and I’m so glad I had it removed.

Hello! Thank you for posting this video! You spoke honesty and I appreciate it very much that you just didn't read from the internet. You talked about your story. So, I went to my doctor at the beginning of this year and the ecography looked OK, tough I been having cramps for the past 2-3 years. Then, in September I went back to her and asked for a MRI letter. She thought I was fine, but if I wanted to make this detailed investigation, then she let me! 🤣 So, I have discovered that I have an ovarian cyst (again) that grew 3 cm in less than a year. I had another one 5 years ago, on the same left ovary,. My doctor removed the cyst by laparoscopy. I cannot say that the cramps have been as severe as before the surgery, but I felt the pain was different, shaper, more like a knife. And yes, this disease never leaves. So if you feel worried, please go and make further investigations. Prevention is better! Search for your doctor, there is no doctor that does not want to make you feel good again, but this disease is tricky and unknown and it affects the body in too many ways (organs, immune responses, moods). They are getting better at diagnosing and treatments. 😊

amazing video, Ayla! thank you for making this. i was recently diagnosed with endo. actually my surgery was this past friday so i’m on the mend. i went in for the surgery due to my struggles with infertility. we went into the surgery not knowing what the outcome would be. i was absolutely shocked when i was told that i have it. thankfully my doctor was able to remove practically all of it during the surgery. looking back now, i did have symptoms but i didn’t know enough about endometriosis to think it was even a possibility for me. my husband and i are hopeful for the future! looking forward to future videos! sending you and Caleb love from Arkansas 💗

that’s exactly how i feel! it’s a big weight lifted off my shoulders to have an explanation.

i didnt realise it was the awareness month for it but for me i only got diagnosed in jan after my lap....unfortunatley ive got severe endometreosis, stage 4. go figure with all my other health conditions,just what i needed. my specialist let me take photos of the ones they took during surgery.pretty graphic. out of all my health conditions,this has hit me the hardest. so lonely to say the least. there isnt much out there to help. :( i need to have the excision surgery...so got the temp menopause injection coming my way soon. not looking forward to that! everything realy does make sence once your diagnosed. each one of us with it are so so different.due to me also having pcos it was so hard to get them to go in to look. well i suppose my vp shunt puts them off too haha!! looking forwadr to your endo videos. :)

My pain only comes during my periods. I get really bad bloating, contractions-like pain, nausea, hot flash and can't even walk. Lots lots of ibuprofen and heat pads helps me a LITTLE 😭. Also, they are times (not during my periods), when I exercise heavily, I get contraction like pain.... my doctor told me to just keep taking pain medication or go on birth control... I have only recently learned about Endometriosis through research... Thank you so much for sharing!

I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS years ago and have had crazy periods ALL my life!! I got my period when I was gonna I0, and my cycles were and aren’t normal!! As a teen, I used to get my periods every 2 weeks for about 4 years and my mom didn’t want me on Birth control, because according to her virgins don’t need to be on birth control, SO I dealt with it!! Fast forward a few years, after having my first child at the age of 21, I chose to go on the Depo-Provera shot. While on that contraceptive, I didn’t have my period year. Got off of the shot, and went on pills and being that I am a type one diabetic, the pill was not the best option for me. On my 23rd birthday I was told that I had PCOS and The probability of having another child will be difficult. I tried for two years to conceive, and after five years of having my first son I was able to have my son. But always suffered from very heavy bleeding. During my period. Suffered with very heavy bleeding! Had DNC’ s to remove fibroids and also remove the 4 pound fiber that was hanging for my cervix. Suffering anemia for many years now. And just recently was diagnosed with endometriosis! I’m considering having an ablation done. Hopefully I could help with some of the symptoms that I have. If anyone here knows on how I could deal with such, please comment. Thank you in advance!

I've been having bad periods sense I was a pre-teen I started my period at the age of 10 by 12 I was having extremely bad cramps they told my mother once I experienced childbirth it would go away it never did I still have extremely bad cramps and heavy periods, discomfort with having bowel movements I have 3 abnormal uterine bleedings and I'm now being told I'm showing signs of it I do have a son who's 18 but never conceived anymore Children 😪

Places like “Nancy’s Nook” on Facebook are a great place to go when learning about endo. I was shocked to find that there are maybe a hundred doctors skilled enough to actually treat endo. SO much misinformation out there and so few doctors skilled enough to do excision surgery.

This is such a good video Ayla. I've been going to a gynacologist from as young as 13, for dysmenorraeha (heavy periods with heavy flow)..and I've mentioned many times about endo and they refuse to do a laparascopy and have me on contraception to try relive my pms symptoms. I am due back for a check up very soon and am going to push them as to why they won't do it. Thank you for this video, and also stay strong. Us women go through a battle every month and it's not fun. I’m 15 and I have a feeling I have this, you see I got my first period around 10-11 years my period used to be normal about a year ago I fainted and got a huge cramp I didn’t think much of it just thought it was a bad cramp but through out the year i would faint then get this excruciating pain on my lower stomach while yelling in pain I would most likely start vomiting then after my body would be in so much shock I would shake for about 30 minutes I got the ambulance called on me twice already and every time they come they think I am over exaggerating and believe my periods are only becoming “regular” and believe my passing out we’re due to “hard breathing” but after much thinking I would realize I would sit or shower or even be at gym in school and feel fine but after a while yellow spots would appear in my vision then a shortage of breathe then weakness and as soon as I realize what was going on I’d be laying on the floor already blacked out after that I would go in and out once I wake up is when I feel the sharp burning pain that would feel like a living thing was crawling out of me no screaming no crying would help and no one would believe me the paramedics would tell my parents to just get me on birth control but I know something isn’t right I feel it in me that’s there’s something else to this because when I would feel a cramp I’d go check and only sometimes would I be bleeding. I’m terrified of getting my period it is the biggest fear in my life because i won’t know if it’ll be painful or not no one believes but I hope someone reads this and can tell me what I have . Thank you ❤️

I have all the signs and haven’t been able to conceive (been trying for a year and a half) and I’m having the laparoscopy done in 2 weeks! I found your video and I love that you are sharing this because I’ve had the symptoms forever pretty much and I thought that’s just how it was and that was ‘normal’. And I’m sure so many other woman feel the same way but they too could have it.

Okay so I usually loose about 1 and a half ounce of blood a day per period. I also get in so much pain during my period that I can not perform normal functions like walking, typing on my phone, talking, moving, and just about anything is difficult. On average I pass out 2 times per period and throw up about once. I also have pain while ovulating. I am 16, 5’6 and 120 pounds. Should I go see my doctor about this?

I get that my pelus hurts so much it effects my nerves down my legs front and back. Also lots of bloating and digestion problems and excruciating pmt for 3wks a month. Sucks

Same here, it effects my abdomen and pelvis so much that the nerves in my lower back to randomly my legs and feet are sometimes affected. A lot of times I can’t walk normally let alone drive anywhere because they hurt very badly and I can’t feel them at all 😓

Pain radiates down my legs too. Even my feet hurt. I'm starting to think endometriosis is quite likely

i just wanna say i’m almost 28 and have never realized what was wrong with me. several months before i even got my 1st period, i began getting horrendous cramps- where i would lie down on the cold bathroom floor with the vent on and try to fall asleep because that was the only thing that could help. then when i got my period, shit got so much worse… the pain was still that intense, but now i had 15-day periods where the blood was just neverending- i’d soak a pad in a couple of hours. i’d get nauseous and the pain would come and teachers and my parents thought i was being dramatic or trying to get attention. i remember lying down on the school bathroom floor, writhing in pain. one night, the pain was so bad that i kept throwing up and begged my mom to take me to the hospital. they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me, even with tests. they sort of guessed that it was kidney stones. eventually a doctor prescribed birth control and that helped get my cramps down to a normal level and my period to about 7 days max. but they never actually diagnosed me with anything. after about 5 years, i stopped taking birth control, and a few years after that, my periods are still holding up as normal. i was a virgin back when i was having all of the severe symptoms so i don’t know if intercourse would have been painful, and i don’t know if i’m infertile, but the rest of this really rings true

Not diagnosed yet due to no insurance but once my cramps where so bad that I thought I was having like appendicitis or something with my kidneys and almost called 911 because I was in such bad pain and throwing up so much

I've missed school so much because I couldn't get out of bed. I use to have my periods 2 times a month. I was put on Birthcontrol, but I'm still dealing with the pain and all my OB did was up the dose of my Birthcontrol. I was also suppose to have an exam, but she put it off and didn't think I need it. I've also noticed that I clot and my periods are heavy and they last as long as my periods use to without on Birthcontrol. All it did was lessen the times of my period in a month.

Currently in agony waiting for tests for suspected endometriosis. My periods were horrendous as a child and I had to stay if school, I'm currently 34 and just come of birth control so I've not had periods for 18 years or so. When I came off birth control it took nearly a full year to get my period but once i did i loggrd them in my diary and now know to the day whdn i will get my period. Since they cake back they have been very very painful and gradually got more painful on each period. My periods are very painful but my last period was really bad and this month worse and I am actually late. When i am due on my period and just after so like 2 weeks i physically can not do anything and am mostly on the couch in pain. I have immense pain under my abdomen which radiates to my right overy just under my pelvis it's like a dull ache. The pain is excrututiating, I am very bloated and can't fasten my trousers and I can't eat a full meal because I feel too full and I feel sick. I am really scared and I'm in agony. Was too painful to go dr's yesterday but ive been today. The dr suspects endometriosis and I'm really scared and worried. He is sending me for a routine scan and they said it could be 8 weeks but I don't know if I can wait that long. Do you think my symptoms sound like that of endometriosis? And do you think I should be concerned? Xxxxx

Everything will be okay, it's not exactly the end of the world there is always hope xx, my mum had a rare case of endometriosis where it grew on the outside of the womb. Doctors thought her life said that all the pain was just in her head or she's faking the fact that she's fainting all the time from pain. But was on descovered when she gave birth to twins - me and my brother.... xx just have hope

i just sit around miserable:(. girls, periods are painful, it isn’t always endometriosis, but if it’s unbearable get it checked i also pee, and when i do it’s like a puddle of blood in the toilet, because i leak so much. the water is literally blood red 😞

Taking d-vitamin supplements really helped my period cramps. If I don't take them a few days before my period I get crazy pains and can't do nothing

I am from nepal, i got my first period when i was 11,first 2 period was non painful but after that started feeling terrible pain for 3 days, i vomit , i cry but vomiting reduces my pain. It is making my life very hard. I dont have heavy bleeding, i get my periods on time,it lastes for 4 days. I dont have any idea if i have endometriosis but please do help me 🙏🙏

I've been having the worst pain during my periods. It actually felt like I was giving birth and no painkillers helped so I ended up at the ER. The next week I went to my OBGYN and had a sono today, I'm nervous to find out results.

My mum told me the exact same thing growing up!!! She said it was like giving birth every month 😭😭 that’s so sad to hear actually 😭😭 Every month I would wonder why she was in so much pain, she has stage 4 endo. I’m 25 and I’m just experiencing severe pain but just like a day or two before my period starts but it’s been happening every month so far.. I haven’t been diagnosed with endo, but my mum told me that she thinks I have it But the thing is tho, I only get severe pain for only like an hour to a few hours and then I’m okay.. It’s very weird :/ do you think this maybe endo??? 😭 it is very severe where I can’t walk, first time I had this pain I felt extremely dizzy, felt like passing out, clammy, felt like I needed to do a bowel movement but couldn’t but was sore in my stomach. I didn’t need to go to the bathroom because I tried and the pain was there still. So it’s very strange it’s been happening every month now

How did it go? I am having the same issues. I have actual contractions, is what it feels like. I am completely debilitated at the onset of my period.

Ive struggled with it for 15 yrs before I even got a doctor to schedule the surgery to get the diagnosed . I was told by many many doctors that it was normal. The bleeding the pain how are doctors so clueless.

I recently had a laparoscopic surgery to remove a large cyst. While in there, my doctor found stage 1 Endo - so I appreciate all of the advocacy you do for Endo! I’m learning all I can in hopes that I can help it or keep it at bay. We are going to TTC for a few more months naturally before seeing a specialist.

Is excessive regular discharge a sign to?? Ever since I had my second child and about s year later my body seems to have changed. I have a super heavy period. Like super super heavy. And sometimes pain during sex. Also localized pain in my down below area. Not in my ovary area. But doctors have told me the discharge is just a normal part of aging. I am only 29 years old so I don’t believe the doctor.

I’m 44 and diagnosed at 16 yrs old. At the age of 30 I had laparoscopic surgery which help subside my monthly cycle pain. From when I can remember my periods lasted 5 days, days 1-2 were heavy (used super size tampon) day 3 there was nothing, 4-5 I used regular size tampon. I had surgery again August 2016 and my dr said I was severe stage 4 and needed a total hysterectomy (ovaries and all). My experience during the time I was initially diagnosed until my hysterectomy I didn’t hear or see much about endometriosis until it was too late. For those of you who are questioning about symptoms one thing to add is when going to your gyno appointment and during your exams you find it uncomfortable and painful from the instrument to the q-tip thingy to the external exam and the painful sensation still lingers it could be the possibility of endo. I’m not a doctor. I’ve just lived with endometriosis for several decades and looking back now the exams were the worst part for me. Outside of sex I had no idea, I thought it was “normal”. I’m sorry for you ladies that are going through this. Its emotionally, physically and mentally exhausting and there is help for you now. Take care of yourselves and get that second opinion as soon as possible. Don’t wait like I did.

My period is the same as yours,5 days ,1,2 day are the heaviest 3rd is nothing,4,5 regular pads ,I have to get tested....I have pain during bowel movement and peeing constantly like all the time

I suspected I have it since I got my first period at 14 but it was ignored. Today I went to the doctor and now I have a scheduled ultra sound in two weeks and possibly a surgery to find out. This is the third doctor I have talked to and the only doctor who was willing to help

Im 20 years old, got my period at 14 and at 15 I started having really bad pains and thought it was normal. It wasn't until this year I knew it couldn't be normal. I had heavy bleeding, I go through a whole box of 36 in the one week i'm on it. It hurts to touch, to pee, and I vomit at least once every period from how bad it is. Infertility seems like its a possible answer for me.

I am on my period, it is really hard because I suffer from this disease, but i’m 14 y/o and “ i’m way too young to go under the knife”. These days are just horrible, I change my pad 2 times in an hour, my cramps are that bad that I have to skip school, I get nauseated and even feel that I’m going to faint

Can u have endometriosis if u don’t have painful periods, heavy ones and no pain with intercourse, but u have bad constipation to the point where it hurts yur back, abdomen and legs during yur luteal phase only?

Literally my cramps are so bad, mostly the 1st day of my period Like last month idk when exactly my period started and i woke up at 4 a.m. with this terrible, unbearable pain. I was literally laying on the bathroom floor crying and screaming because of the pain. I started like heating up, turn pale and cold sweat was coming out of all my mf pores. My heart rate was dangerously low and i fainted.. not much later the ambulance picked me up and brought me to hospital

I have like a 4-5 week cycle i have excruciating back pain, hip pain, and abdominal pain. I went to a doctor after colapsing in a safeway and she told me that im fine and theres no problem. Its so frusterating. Maybe 1 pain free week during thr aberage month. At its worst i cant even talk. Its horrible and i get depressed. Ive thought of suicide because i just want the pain to stop. Like "it wont hurt if im dead" i take pain meds daily but when its bad it doesnt help. I want my life back and to get back out there.

I was diagnosed without surgery. My doctor did an MRI and blood work to diagnose me.

Thank you! 💖 I just learned so much from this. A fertility doctor in seeing brought this up as a likely diagnosis for me and I have to say I was shocked because my other doctors never mentioned it as a possibility and I never considered my symptoms either. Thanks for the candid video!! -Heidi

My cramps were so bad I couldn’t even drive . I could not sit up with out being in excruciating pain and Throwing up.

You explain this really well! I was officially diagnosed with endo last year.

I've been taking liver cleansing pills and i no longer feel the pain.

I’ve been researching, and I feel like this is a possibility, and I definitely have some of the symptoms, but not all. And if I don’t have endo, then all of the fuss would be for nothing. And I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to do nothing, but I don’t know what to do.

I have sign #1, #2, and #3. I don’t know about #4 because I’ve never have intercourse, and I’m not trying to get pregnant, so I don’t know if I’m infertile. I’m really scared now 😫

I think I have all of those symptoms, but I'm not sure 100% because I'm a virgin, so I don't know if I have painful sex. Once they took me out of my college class in a wheel chair because of my period. I was shaking, hyperventilating, pins and needles which turned into pure pain in my hands, narrow vision, about to faint, and cold. I felt a constant stabbing pain from cramps. I cannot imagine any worse pain.

I’ve been dealing with this sharp pain on my right side of my lower abdomen, then my lower back hurts . This pain is sooooo bad to the point where breathing hurts . I’ve gone to the hospital and was sent home cause I was “ fine “ all the urine and lab work and CT scan came out fine . I visited 2 doctors and ultrasound and x rays came out fine . But how ????? I’m still in pain !! Please help .

I just got diagnosed with endo in September and I have 1 child I tried to have another one but I had a moler pregnancy and now I am on lupron for endo and cant get pregnant
