I don't know what you're talking about here. I have a passat b8 2.0 (from 2015) and: 1. I have no wind noise 2. Only a few stone chips on the part under the bumper 3. Fuel consumption is excellent 4. I like the interior, it's not a space shuttle interior, but it's decent with classy horizontal lines 5. Never had a problem with the stereo or window switches

Remove your wind deflectors and do a sound test. Wind deflectors tend to generate wind noise.

I have exactly the same problem with my B8 (a GTE model). Even asked an authorized dealer to look at it and they just gaslit me (“what wind noise?”). Has anyone found a real solution?

Got the 150HP 2.0 TDI Highline with the semi panoramic roof and Dynaudio sound. To me, the B8 is an awesome car for the money. I've insulated all door interiors and bonnet with STP NoiseBlock and paired with a set of Dunlop Asymetric 6 tyres, It's awesome on long drives. Of course it's not a 5 series or a Audi A7, but it's the closest you can get to premium, without paying the big price. Yes, the standard audio system is a complete rubbish compared to the standard audio on the old B6 model but on the other hand, the 2017 engine is miles better, runs so smooth.

1. Still not too bad for mine, you can improve on the seal 2. Add some ppf. Yes mine has got some chips and yes i think it is rather thin paint 3. It is excellent for my 2.0tsi, especially for the power, yours is remapped hence unfair comparison. But in traffic, my FC is quite bad 4. Unfair to compare with g30, nearly double the price in my country. 5. Some button could be better built yes.. no screen freeze on my 8” screen, outside temperature range 24c to 39c

Recently bought one of these, although a 150bhp tdi SE business. Previous car was a e91 320d SE. I feel the quality is better in the passat than that of a 3 series G20, at least in the SE trim

Do you think it more comparable to a 5 series? I sat in the back of it today and the thing is huge.

Bmw seem to have softer paint now too,my 440i is peppered with small chips at 40,000 miles where as my old 740i had very few after 150,000 or so.Your fuel economy isn't bad if you hoof it about a lot though the 440 does about 27 or so,35 on the motorway.

Indeed the paintwork on modern cars seem to be thinner. Paints come along way and where application has gotten better not so many layers are needed to give full coverage, a lot of the Passat body work is galvanised steel, better against rust but in my eyes that’s not a reason to be tight on paint, think of the rolls-Royce’s they have many layer of paint in total weighing in many kg worth of paint. Mpg is poor for a diesel I’d be happy if I had a 440 more power same mpg it’s crazy.

7 and 5 series F models use way thicker paint than 3 and 1 series. Have experienced that myself

Was looking hard at getting the bitdi. But Audi A6 black edition so much better respect.

VW Passat ~nice car really very good

Fully agree (aside of the touch screen freeze - haven't experienced that). Especially the cabin noise - not only wind, but also tyres and exhaust can be heard to a very unpleasant levelbove 100 km/h

Indeed the noise is pretty loud I know I’ve had better cabin noise with sport tyres but iv been thinking if we should do a test with a sound reader and fit noise cancelling material to see the before and after play the cost to do it, then we would no if it’s worth it.

Pop some archoil ar diesal max fuel cleaner, got same car and it's done wonders on my fuel economy

Suspension is pretty loud compared to Audi A6 I went to dealership to check if everything is fine, because of noise.

Well your probably find that the A6 has abit more refined in areas. I’d expect the A6 to be quieter and a nicer place to be.

Really good walk-through video. The MPGs is a turn-off for me. Like my wife's 230hp BMW 520d (remapped ofc) does 55MPG on long motorway spins and 43-45 MPG on shorter town driving. Likely the only benefit to the twin turbo Passat is the low-end torque, but up top they're similarly matched (unless you remap the Passat as Alex has!).

I have this car with 2.0 TDI 190 ps R Line and I like it a lot. The only downside is the paint... Not only is it thin, but lacks in durability as well. I have to check the car whenever possible and look for bird poops to prevent them from drying in the sun as they almost immediately damage the painting...

B8 variant get wind noise at about 190kph

Windows sounds is from your wind deflector plastic thing take them all off

The wind noise is because It’s factory bug, the window is not in place correctly. Need to get access to window and replace it right.

Why did you buy it? Lol. Couldnt be flagship model youve old speedometer its not digital etc. My 17 passat does 4.2ltr/100khm not bad 2.o 150TDI . You right about paint work

Is it really a lot 30 mpg which is 9l/100km for 300 hp car?)) For me it's loool :)) what did you expect after remap for 300 hp?:)) If you want fuel economy go for 2.0 TDI 150 bhp ;) manual or dsg ))

The car is terrible on fuel before the remap, I’m not fussed in mine because it’s mapped. The move to either petrol or electric will be soon. This only moves weekends 😂

@@procarshow5466 most people expect a 2.0 diesel to be economical 😂 but to be fair the BiTDI is also always paired with 4motion.

It has been a year already and it's not relevant for you probably, but I do have a solution for your touch screen freeze. Go to a vw dealer and ask them to update your unit firmware to the latest version, that will solve it ,if not, there are free ways online to do it yourself(much more involved ) That should do the trick.

@@ethanpunto9222 The man complained about a problem that can be solved, and i presented him with the fact that is solvable via an update, that he can do it himself with a bit of google and some tools and/or that he can get that at vw, who if you don't have problems with you media unit and dont ask for it specifically, wont offer to update you media unit by default. I have no issues with you basically calling me stupid, but what did you bring to this conversation, other than a childish attitude ? Hope you are nicer in person that online, cheers.

Maybe why it’s so poor on fuel. Have to be very careful with re mapping.

Just bought mine and yes fuel is bad I'm average 42 mpg long motorway 10miles 10 miles side roads but240dhp it's good not using eco only using sport mode cause eco us shifting to soon in my opinion u need to go 2000revs and eco shift to soon 1000 rpm and that I have to push it harder asi staying in sport mode. To Stone chip's I get the same 40k . With wind noises here no problems but just recently 6 fault's for abs and ASR and more so heading to dealer to get it sorted and otherwise I noticed that the infotainment doesn't show tyte pressure I'll find that out

Your informant won’t show tyres pressures unless the car is fitted with the tyre valve sensors. Your current tyre pressure warning light is triggered by the wheel speed sensor when it detects one is turning faster than the other. You can have the sensors fitted and possible coding depending on informant. Eco does shift up a lot quicker a lot less big turbo spooling. I’m always in sport the only time I switch is to comfort on the motorway.

I using Passat b8 from 3years looks like your screen is broken I never have any problems also if you have active display info your car will look much better with old clock is like b7 sorry

Been thinking of the active dash can always have one fitted at a cost, but doubt I’ll keep it for long already looking at what to replace it with, iv had Vw look in to it, all they were able to do was a software update helped for a little bit but went back plays up every hour and again.

The first mistake is here... you can't compare bmw with vw, not because of the price range... and what is the price range?? material quality and modern equipment, which is why bmw is one time more expensive than vw!

Motorway with speed 75mph after 400 miles mine showing always 54+ mpg. City yes its go to 24mpg.

Wind noise? Not on my B8 there isn't. MPG? Not predictable on a remapped car. See your remap guy, not a fault on the car. No screen freeze on mine and I am in Scotland. No more paint chips on mine than other cars I have owned. If I broke a switch I'd expect a sharp edge and a cost to repair. Common sense really.

Quite a misleading title of the video, I expected you will be talking about the BiTDI engine.

Wind what wind noise

Strange video and very contradicting. I have always been against VW's, but this seams to be non-sense 1. Remove the wind deflectors, as they are noisy on any car. 2. Stone chips are common on all cars (more or less), but it also depends on what kind of roads the car is driven 3. Complain about fuel economy and saying the car is chipped. The only one to blame here is you or maybe the company that has done the work, but only if the claimed it will lower the consumption. 4. Comparing the interior to newer car and car that is in another segment/level. I can also say it is not comparable to Rolls Royce, but also the money you pay aren't. Compare at least to F10, and not G30 as in the video. 5. I believe the screen is defective (hardware or software I can not say), and for the broken window switch well it is broken it will be sharp. Plus the cost of the part is ok-ish. the same part for Mondeo that is 5-10 years older costs more. Plus terrible sound. Not sure what "Pro" stands for in the channel name, but for sure it is far from professional. I do not have youtube channel and almost never comment on videos, but this video have almost 16K views and the channel only 46 subscribers. That is saying a lot about the quality of the vide. Please do not get me wrong. I do not intend to offend you. But you can also notice that most of the comments are pointing to more or less the same things. If that was you goal then fine, but I hope that you have much better plans for the future of your channel

Passat is similar to a 3 series, not a 5.

300HP and you want what? 5l/100km?

The Passat is okay for cabin noise it’s not super quite the main issue was with the left door you get wind noise for some unknown reason

@@procarshow5466 it is the same as BMW 3 series and Mercedes-Benz C Class. The Passat doesn't compete with 5Series l, A6, E class, GS, look at the car dimensions. Passat competes with IS, 3 Series, A4, etc... Only a knob compares Passat to A6😞 Maybe Lexus IS is more luxurious and faster and efficient, but it has less space. C Class and 3 Series have weaker materials, weaker sound insulation...

None of the above has happened to my motor. And remapping your car is your fault. I think you may have the dodgy car that every so often comes off the production line.

I have 2.0 tdi 150hp dsg 6 speed and it gets me 40-50mpg so why the fuck you buy bitdi and complain about mpg that is very very stupid

Well I would say if your doing 40mpg lowest you either hammer it or you have a underlying issue. Never once did I have a 150cr engine under 40mpg even when hammering it. For a 2.0lt the bitdi is pretty bad when comparing to a 335d that would average about 49mpg and produce more power… we got the bitdi because we can, guessing you didn’t because of either price or mpg costs?

@@procarshow5466 40-50mpg average that is mixed driving including town and motorway and town i mean sitting in traffic for 30min at-least. Bitdi real world mpg rated at 36mpg. And to get 335 to average 49mpg you have to drive most of time on motorway in top gear at 60-70 mph.

@@putevasiliauskas7035 well the 2.0 cr engine 150 we had on a 85 mile round trip half motorway half town total driving time 3hrs ish 45mins averaged 62mpg before emissions software update then a respectable 54mpg after… so I’d say you could have an issue unless climate is different to the uk?

@@procarshow5466 nothing different in the morning motorway and city i can do 55mpg, keeping speed on motorway 70-80mph and during peak time when there is a lot traffic i can do 40-45mpg and i think it pretty good. On motorway you can squeeze out 60mpg at 70-80mph. My engine is not cr is dpf only. Dont know how much difference that makes. But Bitdi real world mog is 36mpg so nothing wrong with your car it just thirsty.

@@putevasiliauskas7035 what year is your car? Cr means common rail… they all have a dpf. PD is the engine type before CR models. Just done a 276mile round trip 200 miles motorway rest town roads been sitting in traffic for 40mins of it and got 44.3 mpg all depends on how it’s drive.

A Passat is not even remotely in the same class as 5 series, it's honestly not even in the class with 3 series: it's a VW, not an Audi. Not really sure why this bothers you, let alone the MPG that you're getting in a 300hp / 600nm car. You want high performance combined with great MPG: get an electric car then.
