Guys, modesty is hard because is not about an abaya. Its a whole of yourself (attitude and character). The Islamic perspective of Al-haya’ involves five characteristics, namely: (1) lowering the gaze (ghaddul basar); (2) modest self-presentation; (3) positive speech (don't use foul language, insult, etc; (4) safeguarding one’s chastity/dignity; (5) being aware/sensitive to the judgement of others (i.e.: don't expose your sin, shame for doing sin)

What makes modesty hard for me is the fact that i feel like i have to wear an abaya 24/7 to be considered islamically modest when i don't have a full wardrobe of them. And theyre so long i trip on them despite it being my size and it's just difficult overall. It looks nice but difficult to maintain. So I mostly wear hoodies or long dresses

I hear you sis + tbh I don’t follow the opinion that abayas are the ONLY way to dress islamically modest. If abayas aren’t your thing don’t force it. That’s a huge reason why I created this platform-to be a representation that modesty isn’t a one note thing. Especially as I work in the fashion industry, there’s so many ways for us to express our devotion to ﷻ when it comes to dress. May ﷻ accept each + every one of your efforts 💐🤍✨

SubhanAllah modesty is a blessing sent by Allah the dress of the rightious. No its not difficult. Its an honour dress modestly for Allah alone❤ its a form of worship

It's so weird to me that in English there is "modest clothing". In my language modesty is a personality trait (the opposite of arrogance) and it has nothing to with what you wear.

There are a lot of western women reverting to islam. More than that, greedy muslims saw a niche in the market to sell inferior quality clothes at designer prices. They needed to create a category to market: modest clothing. You can see their greed, they don’t even make hijab big enough. They don’t spend the money on the extra material. There is a brand called awrah hijabs london. They do, but the prices are inflated.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatu I can see most of the comments is about how difficult it is to wear the hijab especially in a hot weather My friends will always ask me They: Don't you feel the heat Me:I do It's like i am remind myself for what reason i put it on because no matter how great the heat of this Duniya is the heat of Jahannam is greater than it. And most importantly the One we put on For Is Allah and i think no matter what happened we should always make sacrifices to please Him Subhanah. If it's difficult ask Ya Allah to make it easy. To all of those who put on their full Hijab without compromising it in anyway in a hot weather May Ya Allah grant you Shade on the Day where their will be no Shade except the Shade of His throne Subhanah.

modesty is easy for me, but the abaya gets hot since ALLAH says specifically COVERING OVER A COVERING AND I'm not sure how to interpret that also I need to lose weight to regulate body temperature, I wasn't modest to get a Muslim man in an arranged marriage I hardly spoke or spent time with him since it was long distance (BIG MISTAKE) I wore makeup and hijab but not abaya, now he divorced me since I didn't want to waste all my money on ridiculous clothes and makeup and dress up to attract non mahram but I'm fine alone Alhamdulillah got a child, from a legitimate marriage in my young age, marry young don't wait for a perfect guy by young I mean around 25-26 that gives you enough time to study and find a path that you can continue after marriage, also limit the kids too many kids means that if divorce happens you will not be able to take care of them
