I miss this era so much 😭😭 it really hit me the other day that I’ve grown up with them...so much has changed and I just miss the good old days 😫

I've never understood why punk fans are so defensive of "their" music and then I realized it's because they want to be different and when the mainstream pays attention to "their" music they feel threatened. I've been a Blink fan for years and 5SOS fan for about a year now and I do genuinely enjoy this cover. I think fans of bands like Blink 182 and other bands alike are too judgmental when someone a little "poppy" covers or likes the band's music and why? I mean you know why you love Blink 182's music so they obviously love it for the same reason. Music isn't about ownership it's about evoking emotion and connecting people. So pipe the fuck down.

One thing that really upsets me is people insulting 5SOS. Fair enough if you don't like them, but there are hundreds of thousands of people like me who love them. Please don't call them manufactured because they are not. If you did your research you'd know that they started out as just Michael, Luke and Calum who met at school and decided to start a band. ON THEIR OWN. Then, again on their own, they found Ashton, the drummer. They wear the t shirts of bands they look up to and who influence them because they choose to. Yes, they may have some guidance as to what deals to accept, but they are their own band and wouldn't be told how look or how to act. They haven't changed musically or aesthetically since they started and I applaud them for that because they are growing popular as the band they had a dream to become. 5SOS fans don't go on to punk rock videos and say how shit they are because the majority of us enjoy that music or think it's perfectly fine to like a different band or genre. However, a lot of punk fans choose to comment on 5SOS's performances and say how it isn't 'real music'. Well, fuck you. They are who they want to be and we love them and always have for who they are and who they've always been.

epicnate98 cause a fangirl is someone who supports a band no matter what even if they suck. and you can't try and defend this performance. its fucking awful. i like 5sos and this is shit. the people saying this cover is good, are fangirls, cause it's bad and they just don't want to admit their favorite band possibly did something wrong. "punk-rock fangirls" do not exist. to be a fangirl you have to support whatever a band does, even if it sucks. you can't do that with a genre, it just doesn't work. now, you can say punk rock FANS, which makes sense. yeah, I'm a punk rock fan. and I dislike this cover. and I shouldn't be bashed for expressing my opinions. rant over.

I think they messed up here, should have had Luke do the first lower-pitched verse and Calum (? don't know their names that well) do the higher "WHERE ARE YOU" part. Luke's lower range is more solid than Calum's and Calum's high range is more relaxed/easier than Luke's. Red haired guy's got mad pipes though, he should sing lead more often.

5sos are my favourite band and I'm going to be honest and say this really wasn't one of their best performances, but before you start saying things like "this band is terrible" and "they don't deserve a record deal" I suggest you listen to some of their other live or acoustic performances because that might change your opinion

No, this cover was not their best. yes, Calum sounded off. it's called being ill. yet this just shows the dedication this band have to music. they're ill and are still coming out to make music, for the fans. you can't judge a band from one performance. I've seen them live twice and both times have been incredible. give them a break.

Oscar Bradley It's okay to not like them, but never, EVER say that starting their band was a mistake. This band has literally saved people's lives. It's sounds ridiculous, but it's so true. Most days they are the only thing that make me smile. Not just their music but their personalities. Every tweet, every instagram picture and every keek makes me, and everyone else in the 5sos fam happy. It's fine that you have an opinion, but don't go saying shit like that.

Myself , I HATE when groups try to mimic a song instead of just playing it their own way. I’m glad they didn’t try to mimic toms singing ( like most covers of blink songs do ) . They did a good job making this their own. And I’m not even a fan of this band . But good for them for making it great in their own way. Anyone who thinks they “ruined it” are tone deaf and don’t understand music .

I don't think it's fair for people to hate this cover. I get everyone has different tastes and opinions but that doesn't mean you hate on it. I'm a massive Blink fan and 5sos fan and I personally love the original better but this is still amazing. I like how they changed it to suit them and they didn't do it exactly like it was because that would make it unoriginal and just dumb. Good job guys 😊

As a blink-182 fan AND a 5sos fan I genuinely think they did a wonderful job so y'all can hush.

This is still iconic to this day

its a nice cover, i mean why can't 5sos cover blink without hate in the comment and p!atd and atl can (not that im comparring the bands). i just think thats sad of the blink fans you cant judge them on their repputation bc the cover was good for a cover. it just bothers me that they did give creds to blink in the vid itself if you need anything to complain choose that, not the fact that they are popular by teen girls and have a boyband reputation. bc its just a repputation not what they actually are they are really nice and if you dont think so just leave. :)

People seem to forget that literally all of their favorite bands, the ones they consistently compare 5SOS to and subsequently rag on 5SOS for not being good enough, were the exact same. They like to rag on 5SOS for being young with too young lyrics. Do you not remember FOB? Same ages, same style, same lyrical content when they started out. Paramore? Same. P!ATD? Same. Green Day, Good Charlotte, Blink-182, MCR, ATL? All these bands started the exact same way. And still are the same, pretty much. The only difference is that they've aged ten years and so have their fan base. If 5SOS came along ten years ago they would not get ANY of the criticism on them being 'fake' or whatever. Don't even try to pretend that it's not true.
