I am retired and I got Otis when I was 66. I am now 71 and he is going to be five in January 2022. He is a wheaton, although he changes a lot. I was recently widowed and my daughter suggested me getting a dog. And I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him. He is my lifelong companion very smart, very stubborn, a lot of my traits LOL I wouldn’t trade him for the world! He was trained very easily, he sleeps with me every night we walked 3 miles and more a day weather permitting he has kept me healthy therefore it is my duty to take care of him and keep him healthy and give him all the love he deserves.

My sweet Molly was a brindle looking puppy but gradually lightened to a cream. I had my precious girl for just shy of 14 years and I will never get over losing her. It’s been over 4 years now and I miss her every single day.

Yes always Happy! I had my girl when she was three months old, brindle coloured puppy but later changed colour to wheaton, and some other shades now and again, and we did everything together for 15 years. My world crumbled when she grew her wings and flew to Rainbow Bridge but I remember her everyday. She was such a wonderful little girl. Even to the very end she was just remarkable. Too many amazing stories to tell about her so I will stop here 😊 Just my piece of advice. When you take Sprout to the lake, equip him with dog life jacket. One man almost lost his cairn when it jumped in and swam off into the deep to catch something it saw. They are so tenacious. Once they set their mind on a small creature they have to go after it, it's in their dna like digging also! I had to teach my girl to ignore small creatures omg lol it wasn't easy. I'll keep watching your videos.😍

Thanks for sharing Debbie and may you cherish the wonderful memories of your pup forever. Dogs are such wonderful creatures and it’s incredibly heartbreaking that they cannot stay with us forever. Yes, we have since bought a life jacket for Sprout. It was a bit nerve wracking while she was on the lake but we did stay mostly in the shallow area. You just never know when the terrier instinct takes over! Thanks for watching our videos!

ours Jojo was brindle as a puppy but also turned Wheaton. She died at 9 years from a blood disorder though. A year after she left we got Smokey and Mocha. They were litter mates and we had to separate them, but Mocha loves her current home, her owners also had a very similar Cairn to Jojo. Smokey, is still brindle at 3 years old and he’s doing well too 😊

I adopted Freddie at 8 months & had no idea about owning a Cairn Terrier…but he took us on a wild & wonderful ride I will cherish forever. Even in his last years he was blind, deaf and in poor health, he was always happy, always hungry, full of it, and would hit the ground running at the beach and park. Thank you for your videos…. The funny mannerisms, head tilts and curiosity is so fun to watch!

Freddy sounded Wonderful! My Cairn Angel was very energetic was blind at 10 years and lived to be 16 and a half. Toto also a Cairn is now 15 next month. Still active as ever!

Love the cairn terriers ,Lykke is mij nummer 3 cairn she is 16 months , mij first dog Cairni was 18 when she left, nr. 2 Chanty was 11 miss them both ,it was a great joy to have them in my life

They are an amazing breed! I’m sorry to hear about Cairni and Chanty but I’m amazed to hear Cairni lived to 18. Now Lykke gets at all the attention! Enjoy your time with her!
