Main reason why mori should take a leap of faith and base herself in the US. Just like liza soberano did. The philippines do not deserve her. This country will never support her. Only her fans. Can't wait for her to finally hit it bigtime in the west.

Morissette is such pure vocals. She can be the angel and the devil if she wants to. Her whistle and growl are two of her spices. Her belting is so heavenly and is so rare. I hope she gets what she deserves.

@@Arahmie2396 charisma, vocals, quality, enthusiasm, talent alone fame and popularity, nangunguna talaga si Mori. nagsusulat kase ng sariling kanta at nagpipiano pa while playing her writings. yan talaga ang di nila makaya kay Mori hehehehe. over all. nakuha nya lahat hahaha

That all being said, it doesn’t change the fact that they have among the best singing voices on the planet.. plus, most current “international” stars hardly write their own songs either. I believe the true reason Filipino singers don’t break out enough is simply math. They just don’t get the exposure but I see that changing. IMO, I place Morissette in the top 10 female vocalist I’ve EVER heard.. and my list includes legends.. ie Celine, Whitney , Karen, Olivia ..

You didn't mention that Filipino singers not just do covers ,but they make them better. they're just recently being more popular thanks to KZread. Their reviews are mainly posted by Non Filipinos.

I totally agree especially the point that the Filipino people are still living in the 80s and 90s when it comes to their music. The love ballads are a thing of the past and unless they catch up with the modern music the singers in the Philippines will never be mainstream artists. As David Foster said in an interview last year when he went to Manila for his concerts. The Filipino singers are good at copying other singers and there’s no originality. Hopefully Morissette will break the trend and start to write songs that are more relatable to today’s modern sound if she wants to break into the mainstream music. As to the last point about the crab mentality… that is 1000 percent so true especially in the Philippines. This goes on all over the world but especially in the Philippines. Some of the comments that I have read about certain artist are just beyond disgusting.

Pretty soon 🇨🇦North American public well get tired of generic auto tune singers that relying on itt. And get to a real vocally talented artist. Or splitting them 60 % real voice 40 % other regardless every now and then. We need to hear a real beautiful voice without artificial effect 😊perfect example is Asias Phoenix MORISSETTE

Mariah Carey is one of the greatest songwriters in 21st Century aside from being the best vocalist of all time. She "cover" a songs but you cannot change the fact that she wrote hundreds of songs. FAR from being a "cover singer" which is the problem of OPM industry

Call it opinion or what you want but all reasons presented in this video is true. Filipino singers can't penetrate international stardom because of the Filipino so-called culture, karaoke culture. Filipino singers loves covering songs which is very unnecessary in music industry today. They also stuck in 80s vibe which is very obvious and tiring. They need to write their own songs too and minimize covering songs from other singers to build up their discography.

@@ellecoixgayasf I dont think covering songs its the main problem anyway, its not being classical nor the originality of makin the songs . Now a days mostly most of the modern pop,rnb,rock or either other trend kind were patronized because of its genre and old school were no longer in the most interest of young people specially in the states. The Lack of great composers is the one lacking in the OPM , your view on classical songs must be insane and outdated coz other artist like celine,adele, houston make it International, Whitney actually song which is " I will Always Love You" which is ballad type was also known but she did not composed it , Dolly Parton made that songs.and it made her (Houston) popular. Regine Velasquez in her prime however could be better than most of other U.S. artist but she never pursued it in other words it depends upon the artist .

On the other hand, Adele wrote hundreds of impeccable and relatable songs (one of the best songwriters today) that's why she's a huge star and that's the problem of Filipino singers, they have big voices like all these divas but they don't write and produce their own songs. The only diva I know who already make her own songs is Morissette. Majority of mainstream singers in OPM scene rely on someone and it took a little longer to wait for a music that's why they can't solidify their discography. Indie and alternative artists are the thing today in the Philippines because they write their own songs. Discography is important today for all the artists because of Spotify (main streaming platform). You can't penetrate international stardom if you just cover a songs TODAY since most of the artists with global stardom status today write and even produce their own songs especially the alternative girlies in music scene

Writing your own song nor either creating your own mean that they are strategically better in terms of singing, no one can change the fact that filipino artist are far more better than any artist in the U.S. that I have seen.

Covering Songs? And you tend to use Sarah G's video? Not only her, but even Regine Morissette and other artists too.. Sarah G is one of the most successful singer in the Philippines. SARAH GERONIMO is the First Filipino artist to receive the GLOBAL FORCE AWARD from BILLBOARD's Women in Music Awards to be held on March 6, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. Filipino people are so proud of her.

She might one of the most successful Filipino singers to ever exist today but you can not change the fact that she is one of the most prominent Filipino singer who loves covering songs. In fact, she had 4-6 albums that consist of revivals and covers. You can check it on Spotify for reference & that's the reason why I put her picture in that particular part 😊

I dont agree.filipino singers are big in the philippines and i guess that is how it matters.they have everything!!!they make lots of money in concerts and shows.and sometimes their covers is better than the originals.bottom line is that they are not greedy!!!thats how i take on filipino singers.
