Hello, I am currently a Computer Science student at the American University of Beirut (Lebanon) and I am planning to pursue a Master's degree in Machine Learning at TUM. I would like to know if you have any idea about the acceptance rate in such field (my gpa is currently 3.5). I would also like to know when the admission requirements to study in Germany. Hello, I think you video is amazing. I am a highschool student and I am currently aiming to study in physics in TUM (which is a huge coincidence) and I have a question to you. As you mentioned some of your peer attended to a Studienkolleg, which (correct me if I am wrong) is a course/programme that teaches the language and teaches the arbitur level knowledge for the university, now. Where and how would one be able to attend this types of courses?

It’s not hard to get accepted. But a high percentages of people drop out after the first or second semester

@@amandagradel1594 Either you realize for yourself that it is not the right subject or you are forced to drop out. For example for physics: In the first year of the bachelor's degree you have to pass every exam. - for this you have two written and one oral attempt.

I know you have studied at tum but in general talking are the other tu's like tu berlin etc worth it like is tum way ahead of tub or are they equivalent for pursuing masters in computer science. And my german converted gpa will be 2.2 , so in your knowledge is it enough to get an admit ( considering my profile is strong other than the gpa) .

I've been scrolling through your channel for quite a while now and I just wanted to ask how you've gotten into TUM and whether it's like the universities in the US ( in terms of needing to take the SAT/ACT to get in etc.)

There are no SAT scores required in the German university system. During application to undergrad from HS, the Abitur GPA counts. In some programs, even only some grades from your GPA are counted and weighted. There could also be an assessment test, and many application procedures are listed online. Some programs, like physics, do not count GPA. A list of programs is here: www.tum.de/studium/studienangebot/#admissionRequirement--3. As a foreigner (non-German speaking), you will need a language certificate for most bachelors programs, however. For masters programs, most are taught in English and no German knowledge is required.

You will need to demonstrate competence in those subjects that pertain to the usbject you want to study- ie. good AP / IB grades. As an American, you will be applying through UniAssist, which is a seperate organisation that takes a look at your GPA, and reconstructs an abitur grade.

Hey, i’ve been scrolling through your channel and am really finding your videos helpful. I’m applying to TUM for the next winter semester and wanted to ask what grades I should present (for context, i’m an A-level student and have A*’s in all 4 subjects but am currently taking a gap year). How do I convert my grades to Abitur grades? I’ve looked at a lot of websites and non of them seem to tell me exactly what GPA I need to be admitted or how the conversion works (do I submit my converted grades or my grades in letters?)

TUM now has a tuition

Is it hard to get into the TUM? I am in a German School in my country and I am going to do the Abitur in 2023 but this is one of my dream universities and i'm scared to not get accepted. My bachelor doesn't have an NC but do you think i can get accepted with an abi around 2.3?

That question depends on your major - some majors, like physics and electrical engineering, have no NC (because of capacity & few people want to study it) and therefore you should have no problem getting admitted. However, programs like TUM-BWL have an NC (last time I checked) and/or an "Assessment Test", where you might be interviewed. I have several friends that went to German School in Europe and South America, who also graduated with an Abitur and thus had no application difficulties to the physics program. You can check out the other comments on the TUM videos for more application questions, I have answered a couple and they also might help you out!

Hi, i think the video is really good and i have a queation to you. I have been accepted to TUM for elechtrotechnik and actually because i couldn't research so much about TUM i feel excitement and fear to come. I am already studying in my country 2. class now and i don't know - i think i am late for enrollment and didn't pay the fee. But deep inside i fell like i am losing a big chance. I don't know maybe you have an advice to me with your experience. Thanks in advance.

Dear Real Ark, I would say just do what your gut tells you. Regarding the missed deadlines, just try your best and email the TUM people responsible and explain your situation. They might help you out, and you never know if you dont try it. You also have to be sure that electrical engineering there is the thing you really want to do. Living in Munich can be quite expensive (I don't know where you are from), but the tuition fees at TUM are minimal and you will not have to incur any life-altering debt! Living in a foreign country can be lonely, but you will meet many new people, which can be very rewarding. And TUM is a highly reputable school. In which country are you studying at the moment? If you don't want to study now because you think you are not ready, you can always reapply or try to apply for a masters program once you are done studying in your country. @@ac_insights Oh ! Thanks a lot for this detailed answer. I am studying now in Turkey (ITU). Actually considering all informations i get, i think i should go to TUM if it's really sth a person can't refuse. For example if i have been accepted to Stanford Harvard or MIT i would go and start again from 1. Semester without even thinking but for TUM i don't see it like that. I mean... maybe i am wrong but. And also i actually want to be in tech but in business side. Maybe that's why TUM is not for me. For networking in business as an internationalstudent is it really for me i don't know am i be able to socialize that much - do you have any opinion about that ?

To date, there is no such video yet. But I have it on my mind, thanks for suggesting it!

It’s so funny because everything you said also applies to every other university in Germany. The Erasmus+ exchange is offered at every university as well as individual partnerships. However, what you did not mention is the housing situation around Munich, which is terrible to say the least. Especially as an international student (if you don’t speak German), be prepared to have trouble finding accommodation and to pay a lot more rent than your fellow national peers.

Is TUM a good place to study for pharmaceutical sciences?

I do not think TUM offers pharmaceutical sciences, but they do offer Pharmaceutical Bioprocess Engineering as a degree program. You can find more info on the TUM website!

The main problem with TUM is the assestement procedure for master programms. For many programms only the grade is important. ( not only but has makes a big part of it).I studied at the LMU Munich Chemistry with 2.85 and I want to do a Master in Managment. Other people from non EU universities, that finished some payed private schools have it a lot easier to get in, thanks to their grades. This just makes no sense, that german university are not at all valued.

I agree to an extent, I have heard similar stories that the grading curve puts TUM graduates at a disadvantage compared to other universities when applying to other competitive graduate programs internationally.

Man I was going to really consider the TUM Information Engineering Bachelor's program at Heilbronn but once you said it'd be 1500/semester... I'm never gonna get a college degree man. Top it all off I have to find my own housing and whatnot... fuck man. Just... fuck. I need more structure than just a lecture too I have a IEP. I'm never gonna be successful.

@@Reinhard96 man listenn, the cost of Munich is very high. But Heilbronn is completely neww city. You can even get a room there at just 300 euros/month. You can even do part time jobs and atleast earn 437 euros/month without paying taxes.
