all stabilization is in the camera with hypersmooth. occasionally I will use GoPro Studio Reelsteady if hypersmooth wasn't enough but that's maybe 2% of the time.

Welcome to the club legend! 🙌 It helps a little bit honestly getting a 3rd party dead cat or separate mic is better! I use the dji Lapel mic for all vlog scenes and it’s insanely good! I also talk about all audio options in my GoPro 12 and 11 review, so go back and check those too 👌

​@@ChrisRogers thank you very much for your reply, well the thing is that I would love to start a travel vlog channel, and with GoPro I will be much more confident in front of the camera cuz is smaller than regular video cameras (already have 11) and adding the external mic will give me the feeling that someone is listening to me and also is a little bit out of budget for the beginning, but thank you a lot again, I will take in consideration a separate mic in the future. Regarding the videos I was looking for specific one "GoPro 11/12 audio test" on your channel, I will take a look over the review. If I'm not bothering you too much, this video was recorded in 8x7, right? Is it good for a travel vlog to crop it after that in the yt ratio? Chris - Great vid and a spot on perspective. I jumped in with the Hero Session 5 - it has always been very reliable. Would love to see Gopro come out with a newer version of the session....Currently enjoying my Hero 10 . Feature advances are great and better with each version released.. Both solid action cameras and have worked almost flawlessly.

exactly 😁👍 you forgot to review the overheating problem though, which is a huge factor for an action camera. Having said this I am happy they solved the problems at cold temperatures though, which made the 11 pretty much unusable below -10 degrees. Not that any review ever mentioned that as they all focused on the overheating issue,...

yeah had the one filming 2.7k 240fps and the other filming 4k 8:7 60fps for better quality and greater FOV

@@FOOTBALL_CPT so when I spoke to an image engineer the way he explained it was the focal point will move further away with something like a 1-inch sensor, which means a selfie at arms length wouldn’t be in focus which is not a good thing for action cams. That seems to be the main issue

Cheers legend! 🙌 yeah I mean if you compare any action camera to like a full frame Sony a7 camera, then they all suck in low light 😂 but that’s like comparing a submarine to a Formula One car… they’re not supposed to be compared lol

I think it depends if you already own a GoPro. Like if you own anything older than a HERO10 you should consider upgrading but if you think you can wait it out till end of the year then do that. Could always buy the 12 now and sell it when the new camera comes out 🤷‍♂️😅

Great vd, but I don't belive you recorded night scenes by Gopro. You can setup a lot of settings but its not possible with this kind of sensor. I know, we can setup the ISO, shutter + gimbal, can you show it? Proof it? ;) I love Gopro but night scenes are the Achilles heel in this camera.. I think, please let us know how to make scenes like you have made, thx :) As always, you have made fantastic video with joke :) I've scared, wow Chris don't like GP?

I mean I could send you raw footage🤷‍♂️😂 but also no big music festival let’s you take in big cameras anyway unless you’re actually working there... All those scenes were shot in 5.3k 8:7 ratio 30fps and iso max set to 400.

Reason 6 - the price. I hate how they are so affordable and less than a weeks wage.

I thought this was serious at first and was like “the GoPros literally amazing what’re you talking about” then a couple seconds in I realised 😂

well, the gopro can do very little things, that an insta360 x4 cant. In contrast, the insta360 can do plenty of things the goPro cant. Even a sturdy smartphone case can basically replace the goPro nowadays in many situations, which is probably why sales hit rock bottom.

What do you think about the DJI Action ?

Have heard good things but I want the better slowmotion and stabilisation that the GoPro does. I will probably do a comparison when new cameras come out at the end of the year

Image on go pro is not bad actually but the quik app is the go pro downfall not all region is supported

Great video. I also like my Hero12. But I want a 360 camera and now waiting for nearly 5 years for the Max2. Insta seems far ahead of Gopro. I don't like how Insta 360 is doing with customers and I would love to buy a Max2. But if this summer there es still no Max2 available I will have no other opportunity as going to Insta 360. So Gopro: please deliver us the Max2 in May or June.

Ha ha Chris... Seriously though, there are so many reasons to NOT actually buy the GoPro. Just picking on two things (and probably the most important), they still crash, freeze etc... and battery life. Are they better than the competition? No. Compared to the other great options out there, they just don't hack it any more - which is why all my GoPros recently got smashed with a hammer and thrown in the bin. They are so bad, I would not sell them to some unsuspecting individual.
