Was a lifetime Sony shooter, from a-mount time. Sold all my full frame gear, two years ago and now bought my friend’s new (1000 clicks) xt4 with 16-55 2.8. Paid only £1300. Never thought I will back to apsc but fall in love with Fuji. Recently bought the viltrox 75mm f1.2 and looking for a secondhand second body. Try to choose between xt,xt4 or a x-pro 2.

I switched from the Canon system…was all in on that, got myself the R6 with a load of RF lenses, but found it a little soulless tbh…really found that I was not getting on with it. So was looking at the Fujifilm cameras, now I learnt photography with film as a teenager, so was looking for that vibe. I bought myself an X100T and took it on holiday alongside the R6, just loved the experience so much that I hardly used the Canon. I have had an X-T1, X-E1, X100V, but sold those and bought an X-Pro 3 alongside an X-T5 which I am selling because it just doesn’t get used! The X-Pro 3 for me feels like I am back to when I was first learning and that wide eyed wonder at what photography can give you. It’s a special camera!

I like my Pentax K3. I’m glad you found a camera that you are happy with. It’s an important thing after coming from film. I don’t try to have a film look from my digital cameras, I just try to capture photos that make me happy. The Pentax does that for me; it takes fantastic pictures. Film or digital doesn’t matter, it’s what you end up with; being satisfied.

I enjoy picture taking even more after buying the XPro3 soon after it was introduced. It brought be back to the days of my 35mm film cameras. I understand that some people might not get allure of the design of the XPro3. It works well with my 16-55 and 50-140mm lenses. For street photography I do go with my Fujifilm f2 primes. I even took it on a 4 hour whale watch tour with a 100-400mm lens. So I think it is quite versatile. ;)

As someone who just got into the Fuji world with the x100s, I like the idea of the screen being faced that way. When I shoot with the x100s I turn my screen off and just use the viewfinder, I don’t use the lcd unless I’m changing settings, and the ovf and evf show you the image; I like how the ovf works, whenever you take a shot it shows you the image that you just took within that second, it makes you not need to use the lcd to see what you gotten. I’m not sure if the xpro 3 does that but it’s a damn good thing on the x100s

I'm moving my Canon R6 kit on and looking at X-Pro3 or the Leica Q2, both used. I shot Fuji a few years ago and found myself missing a simpler, smaller, lighter setup, and aperture settings on the lens. I'm and old-school manual stills shooter. I'm leaning towards the X-Pro3 but have real concerns about that LCD ribbon and the shutter button. I realize there is no perfect camera, but significant documented part failings and a class action suit are disconcerting.

I really like that camera, I own the xe3 ( in love with it) the only downside for me is that it isn't water resistant😢. I was thinking about buying also an Xpro 3( still keeping my xe3 too) mostly for that reason alone and the OVF option but there is a big issue with the X-Pro3's which puts me off buying one , the shutter button mechanism seems to have a tendency to become “sticky” and unresponsive when fully pressed, sometimes after just a few weeks of use . Or more concerning is an issue with the LCD screen ribbon, which connects the camera to both the LCD screen and the rear sub-monitor. Under normal use, this has reportedly by MANY xpro 3 owners been failing, causing both screens to become unusable! Fuji is currently facing a class-action lawsuit in the US for that reason. Is a huge problem in my opinion for a camera quite expensive like that one.

Hello Jay, I have a question about the viewfinder: I know you can set up the digital one or the OVF. I tried once the Xpro3 and in full manual mode I noticed the hybrid viewfinder with the small digital image on the lower right corner. My question is: can you use the fully analogue finder like on film cameras? If yes, is it a telemeter viewfinder or reflex viewfinder? Thank you in advance for your answer :)

I'm not Jay but I think I have the answer to your question: Yes, you can use the viewfinder in optical mode only, but it's not a telemeter or reflex viewfinder, you will see through him like a telemeter but doesn't have rangefinder focus, only have squares over the OVF confirming the focus (like the focus confirmation on EVF or screen)

Chimping is not an issue. It's the fact that you HAVE to use the viewfinder in order to take a photo which in current times is not always so optimal. For example, as a person who needs glasses, I prefer to shoot from the LCD rather than viewfinder.

@@Jay_Ducker I guess what I’m saying is that while the design aesthetic of the X-Pro 3 is appealing, unless you really desire the optical viewfinder (which is still not as good as my full frame DSLR), my X-E4 uses the same lenses and sensor and produces exactly the same images in a lighter body (but no weather sealing) at a fraction of the cost.
