If you've been riding shotgun with me, you know I don't just have a carry gun - I've got a rotation of them! 🔄
I've done videos on my current Top 5 concealed carry gun lineup. But guess what? I'm about to shake things up and add a new contender to the mix!
The FN Five-Seven Is my favorite handgun that shoots the 5.7 x 28mm round with the Ruger Five Seven being a very close second.
For as long as I had my FN Five Seven, I've flirted with the idea of making it part of my carry rotation but never pulled the trigger. Pun Intended.
So after years of ownership and a-lot of fired rounds, I'm seriously considering making the FN Five seveN one of my go-to concealed carry guns and here are 5 reasons why.
ALSO, right now exclusive to my KZread subscribers, for our Store-wide holiday sale, all the shirts, drinkware and hoodies, including the Need Money For Guns and Need Money For Pew Pew designs are 20% OFF when you use the code: "NeedMoneyGun" while supplies last!
➡️ bit.ly/3SSN0hS
The Need Money for Guns design is A Political Statement. The Need Money For Pew Pew Design is A Lifestyle Statement, but they're both essentially saying the same thing differently.
After you take my advice by heading over to shop.mrcolionnoir.com to show your support for Need Money For Guns or Need Money For Pew Pew you’ll have a stylish, cozy, and soft pullover premium hoodie that’s going to get you your fair share of conversations, high fives, & definitely side-eyes as you display your support for the second amendment in a gorgeous embroidered design.
Also, I strongly recommend considering self-defense insurance. Protecting ourselves and our loved ones shouldn't come at the cost of our financial security.
I think USCCA is the best, which is why I work with them, and they do offer my followers special FREE bonuses to become a member with a 365-day money-back guarantee.

A product in the market will only bear what people are willing to pay for it. FN has priced thenselves out of the market by making mediocre products and setting MAPP prices sky high. Smith, and even Ruger make a better Pistol chambered in 5.7 that does not feel like cheap plastic. With all that aside, who wants to pay 42 dollars a box when 22 magnum is 15 dollars a box with similar performance?

@@reeferman206 I love my 5.7, but I probably wouldn't recommend one as your first gun, for the simple reason that 5.7x28 ammo is roughly 3x the price of 9mm ammo. Unless ammo cost isn't a concern for you (a normal day at the range for me is about 200 rounds, that's ~$120 for 5.7 or $40 for 9mm), you're much more likely to get in the practice a new shooter needs if you go with a 9mm, and there are plenty of great platforms out there in that caliber, including the FN 509 if you want to try out an FN although I'd personally recommend taking a look at the CZ P-01.

@@reeferman206 Please realize that many people say they are veterans, or have "seen action" in these forums are full of it. It is your job to investigate the best gun, caliber, and carry option for your needs. A 5.7 which achieves the advertised ballistics will not be easily concealable for most people.

@@reeferman206 Do not. You will end up being very impressed with your purchase for 30 days, then it will sit in a very unsafe place for the rest of the time until you decide to sell it. Otherwise, you will forget about it and create a hazard for those who end up finding it . Gun ownership, for good, well-meaning people, is like a real marriage. You either do, or you don't. If your first gun is the most powerful gun you can get, you are going for a whore, because the only reason people spend money on whores is because they don't have the courage to have meaningful relationships. They rarely stay with whores. Get a 9mm or a .380 or a .45, and train the hell out of yourself. Get good. You will need it. There is no caliber that will overcome a lack of training or practice. Get something affordable and comfortable to carry. You will not practice as much as you need to if your ammo is 80 dollars a box.

I’m so glad 5.7 is finally getting the attention it deserves but I think the M&P 5.7 right now is superior to FN, Ruger, and PSA with it’s 22+1 round capacity and tempo-barrel system making it gas operated, as well as flat trigger, crisp trigger break and reset and internal hammer fired system

I have owned a 5.7mm for years upon years. I have a FN Five Seven as well as a Ruger 57. I have shot other pistols also chambered in the 5.7mm round. I really do not find any of them to be superior. I do find my FN to be my least favorite due to several factors. But that is why I am basically referring to the other available options. I have yet to try the new Five Seven that has been released. So basically I feel the other options hammered in 5.7mm like Ruger and S&W to be about equal. I however do not carry a Five Seven or 57 at all. I carry my HK P30LEM though.

I agree. Using the same round in the pistol and sub, saves you having to carry two different types of ammo. My understanding, is both were meant to be defensive weapons, capable of penetrating russian body armor. People do have their issues about the P90, but from everything I have heard, it mostly sounds like familiarity issues. Purchase the right rounds. There has been performance issues, buy the FN ammo, and you should be ok. Get familiar with the weapon and how it shoots. The PS90 shouldn't have as many quirks as the P90. Something about a two stage trigger, for full fun. I haven't had a chance to fire one myself, but these are at the top of my list.

Colion, if you want to move up to the flattest shooting 9 mm have your favorite barrel maker machine you a barrel for your favorite gun in 9x25 Dillon with a fully supported chamber. Underwood ammo and Double Tap and I think Buffalo Bore all have multiple loading available. Underwood has a 90 gr Xtreme Defender solid copper bullet (made by Lehigh) moving at 2,000 fps and producing 799 ft.lbs of energy. Lehigh also makes a 68 gr and 118 gr if you handload for those that want more speed or may want to run subsonic with a suppressor. The 9x25 Dillon is true 357 Magnum power in an autoloading pistol. Underwood has the more traditional jacketed hollow point 125 gr running at 1,700 fps and 802 ft.lbs of energy, both the velocity and energy are equal to the full house 357 Magnum 125 gr loads. The Dillon is one hell of a round.

I have been prepping for almost three decades now, so all is not lost. For those who have a 5.7 handgun, rock on.

My first carry gun was and still is the 1911. It's not bad, has plenty of upsides, which is saying something for a full sized model. However, after learning the ins and outs more, the Five Seven seems like the way to go. Ammo more expensive but the spitzer design in a pistol is just a simple duh.

Love this video. I carry a number of different firearms myself. I am a bigger guy and to conceal a firearm for a big guy is super hard. I have no issues in saying. I am 5'10 and weigh 280 lbs. Leave it alone, LOL 18 months ago I was 370. Still, being in Texas is easier as we can open carry and I carry in waste band with butt exposed. Depending on weather is how I pick the firearm I carry. Summer time I do not mind carrying a 9mm. Heavier clothes I go up in caliber. Either my 57 or a 40 or 45 and even a 1911 in 10mm. To be honest I do not really like a 9mm. Like yourself I have done a lot of research on the 57 and now carry it with out any doubts at all in the firearm. My 57 is a Ruger. Zero malfunctions as of yet with it. Great video.

My Ruger 5.7 Is my favorite go-to carry, mostly because of its accuracy, mag capacity, and its weight. It’s basically a full size pistol with the weight of a compact. Had to get comfortable walking around with that longer barrel in my pants (pun intended) but ultimately it’s my favorite handgun out of my collection. Didn’t know all their rounds were lead free until now so that’s a big plus being in a health freak.

What would be a cheaper, similar power easier to conceal? A small 9? Or a subcompact 38? I'd rather she have something she could shoot all the time affordably. I was told .40 is really affordable compared to 9mm.

The new design that s&w came out with for this caliber is awesome but for price and reliability the psa is really hard to turn down.

I’ve used the 5.7, .40, .45 and 9mm. The major issue I have with the 5.7 round is that it simply doesn’t cause enough tissue damage, it’s less lethal than most every other major handgun round. I am stating round for round, not weapon system vs weapon system or round count. Putting 10 pellet sized holes that zip right through your target vs your opponent firing at you with a more lethal round is a disadvantage. We did multiple ballistic tests with the aforementioned calibers and the 5.7 left us unimpressed. There is an application for this round but in my opinion, as a close quarters, self defense round the 5.7 falls short. Obviously most any round to the face, head or vital organ will be combat effective and if I need a handgun to engage 30 targets, 200 yards away, then the 5.7 would be my choice. In certain situations the heavier 9mm round will actually penetrate better than the much lighter 5.7. At the end of the day, shoot whatever you are confident and accurate with. Just my 2 cents.
