    Real Question... i have to do a lot of backstage and tour pics for social media and for personal. I love the whole idea of a camera for photography ( i still shoot 35mm) but how can i justify my agency buying me a Leica when the iPhone 14 pro max does a pretty good job. Help!!!🙏

    I love the vibe of this video - so well done and informative! I know it must be an old video for you, but I found it bc I'm shopping for a Leica Q of some sort (the Q3 will be announced tomo). I guess since I want to upgrade from the 24MP Sony A7C, I would prefer the Q2 jump in resolution and the weather sealing. But I am def. most attracted by the stealthy look of the Q-P

    On the weather sealing - I put a black tape on the mic (top plate) and at the back. On battery - You can get a Panasonic battery that would fit into Leica Q. Apparently they come from same factory. Agree with you, one of the best camera out there value wise (Body+Lense combo).

    I have 4 batteries just make sure it doesn’t take away from my photography experience. I have a tape on the speaker session just minimize dust and water going into the camera. Hey thank you again for sharing your experience with us. Yes I think that for street photography it could be a bit much because of how big are the files. I am telling you Leica should make a 24megapixel version with all the ring and whistle’s that the Q2 has and it would be great. Don’t get me wrong I think the q2 has its place in photography I just don’t think I worth the storage hassle. Hi, Eric thank you so much for the comment on the video I greatly appreciated it. I love the Leica Q since making this video I have been thinking of selling it to get the Leica Q2 reporter edition. I am ok with switching the Q because I at least keep the sl2s which keeps me grounded with the 24mega pixel. It would be great to have the same batteries but let's see. Check to see if Leica is going to drop another Q like that the prices may vary and go down. Cheers, again I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.

    I think the 24MP full frame sensor is a sweet spot. I love it on my M10. I have been looking into picking up a Q to function as something with AF and closer focusing when I don't want to shoot manual focus.

    Hey firstly, Thank you for taking the opportunity for watching the video and for leaving a comment. I believe that the 24mp is a sweet spot. Since owning a Leica sl2s I have been wanting to have everything in terms of accessories the same. I have been wanting to change the q to q2 but the price jump is a bit high for me at the moment. I am looking into getting the reporter edition in the future. Like you said theQ does it all in the AF department especially when I use the sl2s with M-mount lenses. Cheers and thank you again. Look at a beautiful peacock and then look down to its feet. That's the Leica Q2. Real photography is all about what's inside the camera and the photographer's mind. Not about how they feel and look outside. A camera with fake extended focal lengths, no weather proof, slow and with just 11 less attributes than a similar size compact camera such as the X-100V from Fuji. Check them out: Fujifilm X-100F advantages over the Q2 1- LCD Screen Tilting vs Fixed Type 2- Built-in Flash 3- Number of Focus Points 425 vs 49 4- LCD Screen Resolution 1.620k dots vs 1.040k dots 5- Max Mech. Shutter 1/4000s vs 1/2000s 6- Battery Life 420 shots vs 370 shots 7- Weight 478 g vs 718 g 8- Microphone Port 9- Focal Length lens 35mm vs 28mm 10- Built-in 4.0 stops ND Filter 11- Webcam Function Fujifilm X100V: $1.4 K Leica Q2: $5.8 K 4 times more dollars for 11 less attributes? Gimme a break. Fujifilm X camera system is APS-C, a smaller sensor than the Q2's. However, the difference between the APS-C and full frame are comparatively negligible. By the way, Fuji lenses are the favorite choice for Hollywood top directors, not Leicas. Furthermore, did you know that most Hasseblad camera lenses are made by Fujifilm? Fuji and Hasselblad have a near 20 year history of collaborations. The Xpan was designed by Fujifilm with branded versions released by both companies, while the H-System was co-designed by the two with Fujifilm finalizing Hasselblad’s lens designs, and producing the glass for the lenses and viewfinder. This means that when you buy a Fujifilm lens you're buying a superior engineered optical product. In short, if you're the kind of a person who are more concerned with glamour aspects behind a camera brand name and are prepared to spend ridiculous amounts of money, buy a Leica. However, if you are seeking to reach out for the maximum latitude to express your personal perspective of life through photography, like the pros do, buy any of the Fujifilm line of cameras and lenses. Fujifilm decided to skip altogether the full frame format for their line of products. They jumped from the APSC-C format to the much larger format, the MF. Leica also offers a MF line for, again, at ridiculous prices and, again, much less attributes.

    Thank you for educating me and the rest of the viewers. I am not just attracted to the camera because it looks slick and how it feel but because what I am able capture with it and I much prefer the Leica colors/rendition over the other brands. Like I said in the video these are my opinion bud like you have yours. Correction on the camera that I am using is the Leica q typ 116 not the Q2. Yes of course I know that fuji provides more for a lower price but that’s not a camera that I am interested using. As a photographer I am able to capture my photos with whatever camera I have but I tend to like using the Q. This is my prefer option. Am I wrong for not having the same vision as you? Like I said this are opinion for people who would like to get into like but if they don’t have the budget there’s other brands that provide more then enough. Again for taking the time to comment.

    The X100 series has an uncanny ability to nail the perfect exposure, fill-flash, auto white balance and skin tone on the very first shot every time. I can get similar results with other cameras, but too often they may need a second adjusted shot to get it right, and with people, there is often no second chance. The X100V is what smart people grab first when they need a people shot, need it right, and need it right the first time. The Fuji X100V is a handsome all-metal camera with real knobs and dials which makes it very easy to set and control from shot to shot. The X100V is an excellent compact camera for people, group, animal and family photos because of its superior skin tones and because it uses a nearly silent leaf shutter which synchronizes all speeds up to 1/4,000, allowing the built-in flash to have far more range than with the 20-times-slower sync speeds of focal plane shutters of interchangeable-lens cameras. This special leaf-shutter system allows its tiny built-in flash to balance with any harsh light, day or night. Its fill-flash performance is superior to any interchangeable-lens camera also because its firmware and tiny flash are so well designed that it always seems to give great results. The X100V also has a selectable, completely silent electronic shutter. The completely silent electronic shutter goes to 1/32,768 - but flash only works with the leaf shutter. The X100V has a Mechanical + Electronic Shutter Mode which swaps seamlessly between them as needed for speeds above 1/4,000. The X100V is crafted of all metal to the same or better standards as a LEICA. The X100V is a jewel of precision, not a plastic Chinese turd like most cameras today. It looks like an old 35mm camera; people always ask "Is that a film camera?" which is good because camera-shy people aren't afraid of it. The X100V's fixed 23mm f/2 ASPH II lens and APS-C sensor do the same thing as a LEICA 35mm f/2 SUMMICRON-M ASPH does on the LEICA M10, and shot in the X100V's square crop mode, the 23mm lens has the same picture shape and angle as a 6 × 6cm Hasselblad with its classic 80mm f/2.8 Zeiss Planar! The X100V is smaller than an interchangeable-lens camera, and most importantly already comes with the one superior, fast, all-purpose lens you need: the extraordinary FUJINON 23mm f/2 ASPH with the same sharpness and better bokeh than the LEICA SUMMICRON-M 35mm f/2 ASPH! The X100V has a dual optical and electronic finder (EVF). The front lever lets you swap between these, and even crazier, you have the option of putting a small, live, electronic focus-assist window in the corner when using the optical finder! This innovation leaves LEICA back in the 1950s. The X100V's fast face recognition lets it select autofocus points magically as you shoot from any position, so even though it sports a new AF point selection nubbin, you don't need it: just point and shoot! Fuji's image sensors are unique in using a special pixel arrangement that eliminates sharpness-robbing anti-alias filters, and genuinely leads to sharper pixel-to-pixel images than Sony, Nikon, LEICA and other camera sensors using a traditional pixel layout. Fuji's cameras, and the X100V, have color palettes strongly optimized for skin tones and portraits.

    Cropping to 50mm fov is the same compression as 50mm lens

  • @RamonBrito

    @RamonBrito

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not really you are getting a digital crop on the q unlike the real compression when you using an actual 50mm. When I say compression I also mean the bokeh is not the same. You will have a higher quality with the actual prime than a crop version. @pierre-andredalcq2966

    Жыл бұрын

    @@RamonBrito depending on your definition of compression, Andrew might be right though. A specific focal length just gives you a narrower or wider field of view. If you are standing in the same spot, it doesn't change the perspective. And cropping does exactly the same thing. Sure, you will not have the same depth of field and image quality. But take a photo with a 50mm at f22 on a tripod, then change it for a 28mm at f11 and crop this image to match de 50mm framing. And appart from the megapixels count (and probably dynamic range and overall quality) you will have exactly the same image with the same "compression". Because you are taking a picture from the same perspective.
