As a Madrid fan we always respect and consider Chelsea as a hard opponent. Chelsea might have a bad staring in the league because of new coach but in the Champions league Chelsea is a hard opponent. I very much agree with your postulations. Indeed we have what it takes to qualify ahead of Real Madrid. We need to bring back the traditional never-say-die spirit that we are known for and we need to have the right mentality all through the tie. This present Madrid squad isn't super talented and doesn't dominate play for the greatest part of the match but thrives very well on mistakes of opponents and they have effective counter-attack moves, to kill-off opponents. If we remain very compact and hard tackling and avoiding mistakes then we shall succeed. Surely we have a younger, stronger and super talented squad. This is mission possible.

That’s something to try again during pre-season. The back 3 has worked well for Potter and gets him results and means we can get Chilwell and James higher up the pitch.

2 words. King Kante. Madrid fear us and they definately fear him. That doesn't mean they don't believe they can win! Just means out of all the teams they could play, we are the main one they didn't want, besides bayern. Just look at our record against them. It is serious. In a lot of team sports, as you get to the back end of the season, you want your team to start playing well. You don't want them playing well in the beginning of the season only to flame out and lose steam. We are picking up the pace, figuring out our style and who we are and that is scary for the teams we will face. Our main players are coming back fit, and the manager is figuring things out. We are going to be scary!!

Madrid has not been superb this season. Chelsea will beat them with the right kind of attitude

I mean, fully fit Chelsea squad: Kepa, James, Koulibaly, Silva, Cucurella, Chilly, Kova, Kante, Enzo, And then 2 of Mudryk, Sterling, Havertz, and Felix. If you want three attackers, I think you drop Kova and then play 3 of the 4 attackers. Sterling, Havertz, and Felix with Mudryk off the bench with his pace...oof

I was really praying we don’t meet City or Bayern at this this stage, I think with all the team in quarter finals, we have chance against all of them, my fear was Bayern and City, we can get pass Madrid. COYB

Kante has not played for many months, so match fitness will be a big problem. Let's hope Potter only gives him say 30 mins or so,or we could see him getting injured again due to rustiness. Sarri made this same big mistake by throwing him in the deep end while still recovering from injury.

If James is played at right back to check junior then they will be done because Madrid is good with junior

Beating real Madrid is very possible but not with Potter's mentality. We need tuchel mindset

Are we really expecting Kante to start against Real? I think its highly unlikely. As much as we'd love to see it, I don't see Potter taking that gamble this early in his comeback.
