No codes are shown by my scanner, but I can clear the engine light by clearing codes using the code scanner..........strange.

Same my garage mechanic clears it when it’s doesn’t show any error code but it’s happening frequently now. Any solution to this
What would you guess if the engine light is flashing off on erratically? The car wants to try turn over at times. If I leave the car a few hours it usually starts and runs again, sometime days on end with no issues.
What if I have no check engine light and no codes, and still have a bad running engine ?

It's my on board code scanner, before my oil filter housing was leaking and it would come on with no code when the oil went below the safe level. I replaced the housing and the light came on with no code and the oil is full. An normally when it was leaking and the oil was low, I'd lose 6th gear and passing gear. Now it's on, no code, the oil is full, and I have 6th gear.
I’m looking to buy one of these genesis car and the dealer says the check engine light came on. Said his mechanic checked it and there’s no codes and the car runs fine. But the check engine light is still on I don’t know about buying it after hearing that.
