I finally have success with orchids and I believe I do most of the steps you do except for the repotting. I have killed so many in the past. My current one has 13 blooms and it's so exciting to watch in winter months. I had another one with smaller flowers (don't know what it's called) - took care of it the same way as this one but that died. My guess is it had moss at the bottom probably. Thank you Vidya! You have a fan base just for your plant videos and I am one of those.

Thank you for the video. Can you pls explain the hydrogen peroxide solution? Also when you repot, can you show how you do it? Like do you cut off the dried root?

Do you mean the light green or gray things? If so those are aerial roots.

Very informative.. thanks.. could you explain more about hydrogen peroxide and how to use this for disinfecting especially for a newly purchased plant/ orchid? How to treat white mealy bugs in orchids or is it better to get rid of the orchids?

Mealy bugs are really hard to get rid of. And they spread quickly to other plants. If the infestation is small you can isolate the plant and clean with neem oil spray. Also remove plant from pot, clean and soak in diluted hydrogen peroxide solution ( 1 tsp hydrogen peroxide in 4 cups of water) for half hour, and repot the plant in new medium. Clean the pots and support stick in the hydrogen peroxide solution. If infestation is heavy trashing is better.

Hello Vidhya, I have potted the plant in Miracle-Gro soil. I’ve never had one bloom! The pot is kept near the East side facing window. You mentioned bark. What is bark? Do we get it in Home Depot? Just potting the plant in bark w/o soil is ok? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Orchids should not be planted in soil. They are epiphytes. Look for orchid potting mix in home depot.
