I find most of your videos enjoyable to watch however this one you got wrong. According to Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams and any other paint supplier that cares about their customer none of their paints should be applied when the surface temperature will drop below 35 in a 48-hour period of time. Since latex paints especially low temperature can take up to 30 days to fully cure painting in low temperatures can cause microfractures in the paint which will shorten the life of the paint by half. I encourage you to talk to your local paint representative for more information.

I appreciate your concern regarding this topic. The paint I used during the filming of this video (Moorglo Soft-Gloss) is rated to go on at 35 degrees. I understand if you're reading specs off a spec sheet, but how it performs in the field can be different. We've done this quite a bit and I've never had a paint failure as long as the paint has a few hours to set up before the temperatures drop rapidly. I know exactly the type of paint failure you're talking about, and I've seen it when an interior paint is applied on a window sill when and the window was left open when it was freezing out. The cure time after it's applied is clutch and the soft-gloss performs really well in a variety of conditions. I'm still not a fan of painting in the cold, but it can be done.

@@SuperVassarBrothers definitely not telling you how to do your job but I'm not reading it off of spec sheet I've been a painter for 30 plus years the information that I gave you is from the representative for Benjamin Moore. I live in New Hampshire I deal with this problem every single year. When I say microfractures they're not fractures you can see their fractures you see under a microscope. These fractures are the reason that Benjamin Moore will not warranty the product if they find out that you applied it in these conditions. Again not telling you how to do your job just thought I might make you aware of that because you may not know.
