It would be really cool if you made another video showing different workouts (leg day, chest and back day, core day) with just the equipment you showed us. Thanks

Thanks for everything you do Thomas. I love these practical videos. I can actually do the things you recommend.
Heavy duty bands (not the skinny round tubes). Super versatile and will be more than enough for anyone outside professional powerlifters/bodybuilders. Plus they weigh like 5lbs all together so they're easy to travel with and you also don't have to worry about neighbors downstairs complaining about slamming noises.
Hi man. 14 months on keto, it has changed my life. Love your work. Thanks dude!
Thank you for all the information. It's so very helpful. You and your crew change lives. Thank you!
Once again, Thomas to the rescue - thank you!! Before moving from a larger home with a full blown home gym in Seattle to a smaller downtown condo in SoCal (where I walk to the gym - at least I used to), I had it made. Since COVID, I’ve cut my living room in half and laid mats on the floor behind my couch, put a large mirror on the wall and scraped together a set of dumbbells and put to use an old Total Gym (snagged from a neighbor who was getting rid of it). Not sure I have room for a Hex Bar but I’m definitely going to get a kettlebell and jump rope! Thanks again!
Oh my gosh and wow. Thank you for this presentation.
Fantastic video brother. Thank you. I love leg work because of all the body that is incorporated into each movement. I agree that the trap bar is essential! Love to do back with the trap bar.
Thanks, I’ve been thinking of creating a lil gym in my home.
Loved this video! Thanks for sharing
trap bars are great alternative if you don't have a squat rack. I put a 4 inch platform below that I stand on to give more range of motion
One of my recommendations would be a resistance band or two. At least getting the lightest one, or one step above. Good for a lot of exercises and for weaker muscle, or to add some resistance to what you're already doing. I also like doing lateral raises with it. My shoulder joints were rather hurting when i started working out so i used that a lot for the side delts. Still use them form time to time since it's a different type of resistance and you can just shorten the length of it to increase it's resistance. Like if you're doing with your right arm, first put one end under your right leg, then under your left and then under your left and keep your right foot on it too. Also really nice for triceps, just use the top of a doorframe and hold one end with your other hand, or pull-aparts (while externally rotating ofc) etc. And for finishers after an exercise to squeeze a bit more out of it.

Great topic! Since the gyms closed, and being relatively new to working out, It’s been challenging to maintain a consistent gym type workout. This information definitely helps. Thanks, Thomas!

I WANT MORE VIDEOS ABOUT WORKOUT!!! We trust you enough so that we dont get hurt bro. Post more of theese they totally Rock!
Excellent content. I like the fact that you are realistic in these challenging times. Some of your fellow KZreadrs talk about essentials, yet display a set up that would shame a commercial gym. The only criticism, albeit a minor one, is that you did not include a pull-up bar as part of your essential list. A half-decent pull-up bar with, for instance, rings attached can be used for a multitude of exercises.
Omg… my boys and I are totally going to do this!,
Awesome video, thank you Thomas! It is hard to know what to really invest in!
Never heard of you before but this video was great. Definitely adding some of these to my garage gym.
please create more essentials and other stuff I wouldn't normally think of, great video
Great video Thomas! Thanks

Hi Thomas. Always enjoy your video. I’m shocked snd totally confused on your #1 pick of the trap bar. Will you PLEASE do a separate video on it snd all the movements possible? I’m not sure I would actually use it. Thanks so much!!
oh man I really appreciate this video so much, I live in a one bedroom apt and I don't have a lot of space for a home gym (can't even call it like that bcs I workout in my livingroom) but I work out there, so this is something I definitely would love to get, thank you for your help

Very nice, Thank you Thomas
I bought a pair of adjustable kettlebells, they save space and are versatile for different exercises.
my kind of video, great content. I think I will get a heavier slam ball to add to the home gym
You always post amazing content
love my battle rope...gets all the anger and stress out of my system!!
My simple home gym set up is, one pair of 90ibs adjustable dumbbells, 1 bench, 1 yoga mat, resistance bands. That's all I need, I was able to target most of the muscle groups I need to target. Next project is pull up bar.
Great info, helpful in saving money and especially useful in Post COVID times.

Also regarding sand bags....you said no sand....what should use use? I’ve heard rice but worried about water/moisture. Appreciate your recommendations !!
Love these types of videos
I call that a hex bar, but have that too! I believe a MIR weighted vest is amazing to get overall weight to your bones and helps build overall muscle. I use that for a lot of my workouts
I use adjustable dial dumbbells. They save up so much space and you can change the weight on the fly. Just be careful that the weights fully click in place before using them, or you can get injured!
I felt very good putting push up handles in my every day home gym. It allows me intense push ups and probably saves my wrists in the long run.

This is a solid video. What slam ball is that? I like it and then idea to replace a sand bag

Thank you so much sir for this video :)
You have the best videos! ❤️
Very nice explanation
Great information
Awesome video. Great to go with all your nutrition videos. Speaking of which I'm very interested in full nutrition. Has science found an ideal weekly menu to eat all your vitimins and minerals, I sure would like to learn about that. Again love your variety and focus on your videos!!? Thanks.
Thomas, I am looking to start doing lifting with a bench/bar and free weights. I had the opportunity to buy lots of plates for very cheap but don’t know anything about bars or benches. I got small bars for doing curls and such that the plates fit on.
What would be the best for quads? trap bar squats, slam ball squats or kettlebell squats? I already do goblet squats with my dumbbells but want to get to higher weights (barbell squats are not an option sadly).
Thank you
You mentioned cheap inexpensive bands, do you have a brand you recommend?
Great advice as always. I agree 100% on the trap bar, you also can do rows with it and it's fantastic. If you are eperienced and have platforms, you can also floor press with it, but you have to chock your wheels so it doesn't roll of the platforms while you are under it.
I like see videos like this!! Thank you!! Also what about the Pilates magic ring for adductors?? The area for women body?
Awesome and informative as always! Following your advice changed my life for the best, completely. Keto / workouts and no longer diabetic type 2. Thanks man!
is there a specific name for that insulation on the door?
Great video.
Hi, I have two building disn and a bad knee..I do not do any more barbell squats..I do landmine belt squats because they are easier on my back and my knee since I can sit back and my knee does not pass my toe when doing belt squats..I know the trap bar is good for people with back problems but will a trap bar prevent my knee from passing my toe when doing squats or not really?
I need the battle rope (that video you did on upper body cardio a while back was very interesting)
One piece of gym equipment that I believe everyone should have that you missed is a pullup bar. Great video.
@teknoah03
Жыл бұрын
I like the pull up bar but in my last house that crap bent or curled the part of the door where it hung on lol. There was too much give whenever I pulled myself up from it too lol.
I’d like more guidance on your floor surface AstroTurf. Where do you get something like that? Do you use a pad under it? How much does something like that cost? How easy is it to roll away to make space for a car?
Where did you get that storage rack?
What weight kettle bell should I get first I am pretty’s small 15 and skinny?
great garage gym!!!!
My two favorite pieces of home gym equipment are my speed rope, and my suspension trainer (basically a TRX, but 1/3 the price). Because they are so light and compact, and I often have to travel for work, they come with me.

Anyone have link to this trap bar? I don't see it on amazon
I have a cpl set of dumb bells and a ez curl bar with some weights My nxt piece that ive been wanting is a hex/trap bar Then a slam ball I used to work at sears and we sold kettle bells but i nvr knew any work outs( 15 yrs ago)... until a cpl yrs ago... i may need to invest in a cpl dif weights and then a jump rope
how do you clean that fake grass/astroturf? just a vacuum? serious question.
Loved the video but would love it even more if provided links on everything you mentioned
Nice gears man. For now my pockets are happy with cheap resistant bands :)
I started my home gym with a power tower (Bowflex, used, at Play it again sports. $149 in brand new shape) I can do ab work, chins/pull-ups, dips, body weight rows and so on. The next was a 45lb basic kettle bell. I think I paid $50. Next I went to a gym auction and bought an adjustable bench and three sets of dumbbells (30/50/70) for $150 total. And a jump rope. It’s still all the equipment I need, under $500. And I have access to a gym for the days I want to do heavy barbell work or use cable machines.
Great video! You should do a weekly home gym workout/building routine for the beginner with this kind of equipment.

What brand is the 50lb slam ball?
A home gym is not that expensive, if you value in the money you save on gym membership fees. 10 years of gym will easily cost you 4.000 - 6.000 Dollars. You can get a pretty sweet home gym with that kind of budget.

@@lukeash3029 exactly. Also for me personally (and maybe for some other folks too), I have been training vor about 20 years now, and I never stepped foot in a gym, i always worked out at home. I have the essentials (some dumbells, some barbells, a bench, a rack, pullup bar, dip-bar and about 220 kg (480 lbs) of plates. I could never train as consistantly as I do if i would have to get into my car, drive half way through town, maybe sit in a traffic jam, just to work out. I would just skip :). Here at home, i can wear whatever i want (sometimes just shorts) i can listen to loud music, I never have to wait for any equipment and nobody cares if i sweat all over my bench :D.

Exactly! I watched this video when it was new and couldn’t find a trap bar at that price.
Just started building mind, 2 kettlebells and a thick battle rope, thus far, still want a trap bar and a bench.
Just so everyone knows, there are kettlebell handles that you can put of your dumbbells (and take off).
They should make the slam-ball out of superball material. It would be the next lawn dart product.
The trap bar good for women or more so for men?

You can progress until the end of your life with strength if you have: 1 set of gymnastics rings 2-4 sets of kettlebells ranging from 8kg to 20kg You can add cardio and unlock a ton of variation if you add: 1 jump rope 1 set of running shoes A few weights of resistance bands If you don't believe that relatively light kettlebells can handle your training forever, refer to Easy Strenght by Dan John.
