Fred Herzog is my favorite. I randomly found his book at my local library and fell in love. I get what you're saying about the feel of his work. I think the attitude of documentary work is accurate, and something we should all do in film photography. Create those images of what's going on because years later they'll have the richness and value of the past.
These are good but the usual suspects. My favorites: 1)Scottish Symphony , panoramic photographs of Scotland using a Linhof 617 by Michael Ruetz.- New York Graphic Society 2) Another Outstanding book using the 6x17 Format , Places of Grace: The Natural Landscapes of the American Midwest by Gary Irving- University of Illinois Press 3) Frontier New York , night photography of New York City using a Hasselblad Super Wide, by Jan Staller-publisher unknown 4) A New England Autumn by Gerd Kittel- Thames and Hudson 5) West of Last Chance by Peter Brown -W.W.Norton & Company All superb books rarely found on KZreadrs me too lists

Perfect! appreciate you watching 🙏
Fred Herzog was a local to Vancouver, B.C. and photographed a lot of it from the 50's when he emigrated from Germany (I believe). Sadly, we lost him earlier this year. He only really started publishing about 10 years ago. A good choice. I personally find a lot of inspiration from him.
I bought Bystander about a year ago. Great history of Street Photography. I was aware of the other books and most of them are on my wish list.
Those large format and medium format cameras have a quality that is unmatched
Bystander is a fantastic book. I read it cover to cover, very interesting. Thanks for the recs on Herzog and Shore. I’ll pick those up later.
I can see the joy you have talking about these books and photographers that inspire you. Keep of the great videos. Cheers!
“Still life out of real life”. I love that!
dude on your channel for the first time.. then you drop a new video.. just subscribed.. love what your doing man!
Fred Herzog is one of my favorites. Thanks for another great video. By the way, I just finished shoooting some street photos of my own and wanted to let you know that I've learned so much from your videos, and they're always extremely motivating and have helped me realize that photography can be interesting everywhere.
I've been looking at the magnum contact sheets for quite a while, I would love to get ahold of that. It's also great for history buffs.
Love how the studio is starting to look in the back! Great video
Great video and great books, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your list. I should find and get them from Amazon.
I've been going to my local library. They had a great book on Ansel Adams. There's a heap more to read up on so I'm enjoying the free education. Books are great, especially in this age where screens are dominant.

Sorry specific photographers
Ya got good taste. My last 4 purchases were the same Herzog and Shore books, plus Leiter’s “All About Saul Leiter” and one by Andreas Gursky. The last four library books I took out were all Meyerowitzs. I currently have on loan his “Restrospective”. Thanks for the video.
Great video about getting inspiration from more than just scrolling feeds! I don’t shoot street (I may have a total of 5 images I consider street) I love your work and what I’ve seen from these books. I’m inspired to pick up a couple of landscape “classics” and maybe a couple of wildcards. Thanks!!
Thanks for the good work. I got Fred Herzog "Modern Color" last year as a gift. A very inspiring book.
Yeah, Joel Meyerwitz and Saul Leiter are the some of the pioneers in early colour photography
Only ever dropping great content! Keep it up my dude!
The Japanese call the beauty of imperfection in their aesthetics "Wabi-sabi".
Shoutout to an amazing photographer with amazing books Boogie!
Great selections, I have a birthday coming up so now I have my wish list sorted.
I have the first 4 of them, had them for years, really inspiring books.
Hi, thaks for this video, for sometime i`ve been looking Thanks for this kind of video, I didn't know about the existence of those books. I hope to buy them soon to understand this beautiful art much better. Thumbs up!!
Thanks for this awesome video. Your work is awesome too.
These were some dope recommendations! Thank you 🙏🏽
Love the intro !
Omg you said the name Joel correctly youre a real one
Awesome video! Smooth jam too! 🎶 Cospe - "Pillow Tears" 🎶
Thanks for the recommendation for my future pick ups. If you get a chance pick up Lartigue Life In Color, Gordon Parks Half Past Autumn.
Nice video Evan. Although is not as clear from my work so far (especially here on youtube) I love Saul Leiter.
The 6th book on the list would be "Something to Say". Every page is amazing!
Saul "Lighter "
I am here for my dose of inspiration.
„Life Along the Line“ is a very interesting book, by O. Winston Link.
Evan I loved this video! I would love to support the channel and buy a few!
Added to the Christmas list, gotta get this to my wife haha
Stephen Shore's books are like Back Rooms Photos. Where it's nostalgic, yet creepy as its lonley.
Hopefully you’ve seen Everybody Street. It’s on Amazon Prime at the moment. That and The Colourful Mr Eggleston on KZread.
Evan, your link for Stephen Shore: Uncommon Places isn't working. For those that don't want to buy before you see, don't forget to try your library. I like to check out the books and then order the ones mean the most to me, sometimes takes a bit longer but saves a few $ in the end.
Thanks for the reccs! Wanted to let you know, your affiliate link for book #2 is no longer active.
Check out harry gruyaert, Todd hiddo and Ollie Kellet
Evan great video. What are your thoughts on Vivian Maier, if any?
What do you think about “street photography now” book?
Maybe controversial opinion ... but perhaps the appreciation of Leiter, and thinking ‘of you posted his work on Instagram it would be considered a banger’ .... is that I think some photographers were aware of his books/style via books. They learnt from it, adapted it a bit and uploaded to Instagram. As they did that, it became a fashionable style. Don’t get me wrong. I love Leiters work. Beautiful. He was the original. But I think a lot of people on Instagram and other social media don’t recognise where this style card from. I think Craig (sixstreetunder) is an amazing example of someone who has taken this style, and out a modern twist on it.
Awesome episode
Thanks for the amazing recommendations! There's this other book that's pretty cool called "Something To Say", forgot who made it, but its pretty inspiring as well :)
One more The Street Philosophy of Garry Winogrand.
I picked up the one that could be found for under $100 bucks lol. I think the link to Uncommon Places is broken.
Stephen Shore link is just to the home page for me ?
Intro 🔥🔥🔥
It's Saul Lie-ter. Not Saul Lee-ter. Just had to get that correction. Great selection in books btw.
Second amazon link doesn't work for me FYI

Leiter - EI pronounce AY
Joel Meyerowitz. It’s not Joe-ell. It’s Joel as in Billy Joel.
“Jo el?
🤘🏻
Is it just me or is it kind of weird that he calls them by their given name as if they were close friends? Anyways, awesome selection of books, my favourite is Joel Meyerowitz, I guess.
Joe-elle🤣
Great recomendations. But you forgot to mention yours. Just saying.
Picks up a photo book by the greatest street photographer of all time….posts, “Had no idea who it was or what it was…” SMDH
Goats. Awful cringeworthy modern term.
