    Sesei Jesse, thank you to bring us the roots from karate. My karate was cold, but, I had to study english and rebuild my karate, so I started to watch your videos, and maaaan, my mind blow up, and now I want to train karate every single day.     I only use pads for sport purpose training, I've never though of these creative uses. Thanks I'll try some of them for sure.

    Gonna use some of these the next time I teach the advanced kids class. I work at a sport-oriented dojo, but self-defense is always a good and very important addition!

    Exercise no. 3. I think that roll over takes you further away from the attacker. So, as a defensive act, better to run away than engaging with the aggressor. Of course, if you have place to run. Or else, get engaged with the attacker like in the exercise you just mentioned.

    #4 and #5 can be use also in MMA. But I like the #3 drill. Great drills!!!

    I recommend taking out the roll unless you are falling, don't want to get trapped on the ground

    Jesse Enkamp, could you give the name of the kick again? Did you say kakato geri? I looked this up and it looks more like an "axe kick". Can someone give me the name of the kick used about 2:45 in the video?

    Perhaps next time you are going to have a group of life-size padded practice dummies attacking you, which you can strike hard, without injuring a training partner..😀
