Is there a website that gives the set up of Chevelle’s settings on the IV?
The new light looks great. Really brings out the blue on your eyes. (Ha!)

I love my 1990 Rev A Mark IV for high gain stuff. I got it in 2018. I couldn't afford it in 1990 being a teenager but I wanted it so bad back then.
Nice selection Fluff! I personally love my Peavey Invective mh. It serves all my home recording needs
In 1972 I had a Marshall Super Lead Stack. Nothing Like it Enter SUNN Model T I ran into a used one around 1979. Definitely one of the greatest amps of all time. Then in 2004 or so I bought a used Fender Sunn Model T. Different Beast, nice but no cigar.
Wow that Ohnmacht sounds huge, i'd love to have that one! I'm mostly Engl fanboy, with a 1994 Savage 60 which is not leaving my home and an Invader 100 to play with my band. But i'm also into small hybrid and even pedalboard amps, got a few of these.
Great amps, I've been rocking a Marshall DSL1 lately and I love it
Mesa stiletto ace 2x12 as my wet effects amp and a 1960 ampex 2010 speaker for dry amp ! Records so sweet this way- I can balance dry direct punch with spread out smoothed distortion through the variac Mesa. Super fun to record that way!
Pretty mighty lineup! Sounding great as always man.
The ones I want to own or feel like it makes the most sense for me to would be an Electro Harmonix Dirt Road Special, Orange Micro Dark, and Roland Blues Cube. Just chilling on my Fender Champion 40 at the minute.
My top 5 are as follows 1. Peavey 5150 that I curse myself for seeling 2. Marshall JCM 900 with red tolex that I curse myself for selling 3. Peavey 6505+ that I curse myself for selling 4. Bogner Ubershall that I curse myself for not being able to afford 5. EVH 5150 III Stealth that I will never let go of.
One of my favorites is my Marshall Artist 3203 hybrid amp. It’s a quirky amp: single channel with boost, solid state preamp, tube power amp. The best sound is on the Normal channel all the way up (for about 30 seconds because your ears will bleed out). I have it paired with an open back Carvin 410. It is not easy to get a great sound but when you do it is marvelous.
hey fluff!!! i too have a 2008 mark IV in near-mint condition that i scored right at the start of covid...according to the serial number, it left their shop on april 24, 2008...i play it in stereo with a EVH 50W stealth...cheers brother!!!
Great List. My top pic is still my Diezel Herbert... because that is what I am used to since over 10 years. Nowadays I really like my SLO clone which is completely different... but the Diezel has the features for me.
Engl Savage, IronBall and a lil blackstar ht5, id love to get my hand on a mesa dual but not so easy around here. verry nice vids, keep them coming
I got an AMPEG Micro-VR for my birthday after trading in some older gear. I also have a Latana head that plugs into a fender deluxe cab, and an Orange Crush 12
My favorite amp is the Victory Kraken VX. It's my first tube amp and it was my dream amp since it came out. I love everything about it.
As someone who never got his hands on a high end amp (starving artist, lol) I still have my old Marshall DSL40C I bought used a few years ago. I am still in love with that little amp and still heartbroken over the new DSL series not sounding as good as mine.
Took out a personal loan for $2800 back in 1994 to buy my Mark 1V head and slanted cabinet without even ever physically playing it. Back then there were no major music stores near me so this entailed driving nearly 3 hours away, Handing over $2800 and driving home with a receipt and told they'd call once it comes in usually 3-4 weeks. I was in a band was young and admittedly very ignorant but to this day that purchase I have never regretted although upon first getting the thing home it became obvious this was exactly a plug and play type amp. Nearly two years later I knew how to use the thing to get the sound I wanted and it sits here today still operating perfectly with no more than a few tube changing in all those years.Truly a finely built machine
Being from England I decided to get an amp from each of the big brittish amp companies. I have a Vox ac15, Marshall jcm800, Orange or15, Laney cub supertop and a Blackstar ht-5. I might get a Hiwatt next to complete my collection. I also have a rogue Peavey 6505mh!
Great amps ya got in your stable! I used to run a Mark IV for a long time. Moved to a Roadster for a bit-also great. Moved to an early ENGL Powerball for a while-sick. Acquired a Mesa ‘96 Rev G Blackface and love it. Then discovered the Splawn Quickrod and Pro Stock which took over for a few years. Recently nabbed a ‘97 Bogner Ecstacy and that changed everything. Good gawd.
I have currently acquired a Dime D100C 2x12... I also have a Marshall VS100 with a 1960A JCM900 cab.
My top 3 right now are my 1967 Fender Bassman, 1987 Mesa Mark III Red Stripe, and my 1975 Marshall Superlead.
My current collection is a Lab Series L5, Orange Crush Pro 120, Mesa Boogie Stiletto Deuce and an Egnater Renegade 65
My top 5 amps that I had owned: 1. Orange Rockerverb MKIII 50W head - Best sounding amp of all time! Incredible low end. 2. Marshall JCM 2000 dsl 50 head - My first head. Still regret selling that one. Have never found another one that sound the same. 3. Mesa Boogie Single Rectifier 1x12 combo - Great amp, but hell it was heavy... 4. Marshall JCM 2000 dsl 40 combo - My first valve amp. Has always a place in my heart. 5. Orange Micro Terror - The loudness still surprices me.
That’s a cool looking PRS. Beautiful!
I love my Dark Terror! And have a Badlander 50 on order. Patientlyyyyyy waiting for it to ship 😩
Really loving my Dr. Z Maz 18 MKII at the moment. It does that small amp on fire sound, but it stays together better than a small Vox or Fender.
Have you ever considered getting a Royal Atlantic? Mark Morton (Lamb Of God) uses a Mark IV and a Royal Atlantic mixed, and that is his live sound. He uses a Royal and a Mark IV for on stage, and another Royal and Mark IV going to front of house. Since they pair together so well, if you love one, you will love the other.
Randall RT100 Diezel Herbert MK1 Blackhawk Amplifiers Odin Blackhawk Amplifiers Mjolnir Orange Dual Dark 50
I have a Bugera 333XL Infinium (I know it's a cheap) and a bunch of pedals, for some reason I love that amp
My favorite amp i own is a 2014 Peavey 6505+. Picked it up at a pawnshop for 400 bones. I have a Fireball 100, an EVH 5150 stealth, and an Origin 50, but none of them come close to the sonic goodness of that 6505+. Which is weird because most of the 6505s i have played did not move me. Some serious Voodoo in that amp.
That sounds lovely.
I don’t play metal but I still love your work. I have a Tonemaster Fender Twin and I absolutely love it. Throw my Mjolnir in front of it, a little reverb from the amp and, for what I play, it is absolute heaven.
That Friedman sounds amazing. I have a Marshall 2505 so I'm not surprised I like that one the most!
I miss my Soldano Avenger but I have a new love with a Dr.Z Jetta. Cheers Fluff!
My Engl rack half stack: E530 Tube Preamp E850/100 Tube Power amp 2 x E212VHB Pro cabs
Great selection! Personally, I love the Recto and Mark series. But here's a question: how come there's never been a Bogner amp on this channel?

Or Soldano, Metropoulos, Catagory V, Two Rock….

Amps aren't cheap, i think that the amps he has had on here are going to get him views... and bogner isn't exactly the best sounding brand imho, then again, all I've played was the uberschall.. and there has been soldano stuff on this channel
@alexandertorrente198
2 жыл бұрын
@@jjulch as for r category 5 and two-rock, as those are amazing amplifiers, they are more designed for clean stuff, this guy doesn't really do that kind of music from what I have seen. It would be like if a blues and jazz based channel did a review on a 6505
@felipetiecher
2 жыл бұрын
@@alexandertorrente198 what he's been bringing to the channel surely will get him views, but he isn't focusing on budget stuff either. This is a man with multiple Ernie Ball guitars and many amps stored away. Bogner is just a name that came to mind and that, to me, is famous more than enough to be featured on the channel.

What about Diezel amps)
Fellow owner of a Mark IV here. Mine is a Rev A short-head and I still haven't found a high-gain amp I love more than that. Also, it can do all sorts of stuff and yeah it does DOOM.
I had a chance between an Orange TH-30 and a Rocker 32. I LOVE them both. I'm glad I got the Rocker, but I really wish I could have them both
Mesa Mk V:25. Insanely versatile and unbelievable tone in a small package.
Love my rev g. Recto and my mark iv!
Peavey amps are so underrated. My dad used to own a Classic 30 before he sold it off to buy a vintage Gibson GA-5. Personally my favorite amp for guitar is my Rumble 25, I know it sounds odd at first but it’s a great clean platform and the overdrive button sounds great for just a little grit.
As an amp-tech I have the opportunity to play some really great amps, sometimes. The 5 best I heard so far: 1. high gain-wise my own DIEZEL VH4, so unique and versatile. The DIEZEL midrange is special. The amp is very sensitive to tube changes. 2. MESA Dual Rectifier Rev-C, very special compared to the later ones. It was so raw and not overly high gain. 3. Mesa MKIV for the versatillity and the reason Fluff mentioned, the great lead-channel. 4. 1974 FENDER Vibrolux silverface, 10" speakers and the best!!! clean sound, I ever heard. 5. 1968 JMI VOX AC30 top boost, THAT was the AC30-sound! I had several ACs on my work bench, but that particular one...
I love the use of the Rockler bench cookies lol
Finally a video where the Mark iv gets some love ❤️
My jack of all trades Tech 21 NYC Trademark 300 head is just my sound. Bought one new in '06 to go on tour, then made the mistake of selling it when I moved up here to the PNW. So, I bought another one on the used market a few months back. Being a solid state guy, who loves tune tones, SansAmp technology is just the pinnacle. 👍🏽
Oh and one more thing - I play a marshall valve state with a creation audio distortion pedal run the wrong way. I learned that i could increase the reactance of the speaker when I used it as a power boost in the fx loop. I found out that as long as i didnt use the gain pot or the distortion pot at all but only use the loudness that it added 25 percent more reactance; the distance the speaker actually moves back and forth was wickederly cooler. i tested that preception with an sxsw expert and he agreed with my take; note that it clips most amps and the creation audio lab pedal is powerful enough to hurt an amp. beware
Dayummmn! #5 is a beast! Every beginner needs a 200 watt amp for those late night jams...lol
i love my 5150iii heads.the fifty watt or hundred watt, can't beat them for the sound or price!!!
BE 100 deluxe is my favorite. Best amp I’ve ever owned by a LONG shot
all amps were gr8 except last one ... forgot to add soldano amps as well ...gr8 video overall bdw ..cheers!!
Interesting - no SLO in the 5? (Nice to see a Boogie Mark in there though!)
Fender Twin from the 70s was the best amp I ever owned. Although any distortion comes from a pedal. I didn’t care at all though
My top 3ish amps still in my possession 1. 1986 Marshall JCM800. Sound wise could be better, but the thing is just built to have the piss beaten out of it and it has never even remotely had an issue 2. 1973 fender twin reverb (silver face). The first amp I ever found on cl was a 73 quad reverb (still have that too) and I've just always loved how pristine the sound was. 3. Mesa boogie 50 cal + (your fault...jk). It was the first amp I ever went on the road with. Until it kinda exploded in a southern California garage show, it was just a fantastic amp for live. Great video as always, fluff man.
I have an original Model T, planning on getting an Ohmacht
I love my jcm2000. I think it's one of the most underrated amps.
surprised not to see the JVM 410 - love it
Yep my speakers just blew when you plugged in that 200watt monster. Good god that things loud.
That rev E is the kind of amp that's only going to get more and more valuable as time goes on. Good catch.
I have a marshal JVM 410H, and it’s the only valve amp I have ever owned, and I do not like it. But also as it’s the only multi channel valve amp, I’ve kinda got to keep it.
Nice list. How about cabs?
Red Seven Leviathan, KSR Orthos Mk1, Fortin Cali, Reynolds Valvart 501C
Love that Friedman! Straight up Rock n Roll
Great vid, what are your dual rec settings?
All I have in terms of actual tube amps is a Mesa Boogie Mark V and a Fender Blues Jr. I can cover quite a lot of ground just with the Mark V. I just recently got a couple amp sims too hough and those have been really cool (Neural DSO SLO-100 and Line 6 Metallurgy Modern). Would like to check out the Revv Generator and Peavey Invective some day too just to expand my high gain amp options.
BE50 also has an incredible clean channel! On the less heavier end, The mesa lonestar is fabulous... Andy Timmons really makes it sing. Well, Andy Timmons makes everything sing!
Hey man, not too sure abt your opinion towards fryette but do try the Deliverance 120. That thing is a beast for the plexi stuff. Incredible!!!
Right..that rev rectifier sounds unbelievable.
The Crate Stealth 50 and Peavey Ultra 410 are two amps I wish I had back. I will be keeping my Mesa Recto-Verb 25 and Vox AC151C w/Creamback. I don't have a number 5.
Those blue feet under the Mark IV? What and where? Super handy
The Rev E is my favorite sounding amplifier
Would any of the top 5 change depending on if you are using IR’s or a speaker cab?
The Friedman's are the best amps I've ever played. Do it all, sounds better than anything else I've tried imo
For the Mark IV I can kinds see how on the crunch channel I can kind hear "Point No.1" tone, but I think I was kind of expecting that extremely pushed sound that Pete gets from a sansamp gt2
That Rev E sounded great!
I’m not sure why Mesa didn’t keep the rev E. I kept trying to get rectifier to sound like that.
My Matamp GT120MV is the best amp I’ve ever owned. I love Model T’s as well. Fuzz does sound great out of them, but a Rat kills out of them.
Can you please tell me where to get those foot pads you have under your Mark IV? Thanks!
I have a 1990 Mesa Boogie Mark IV rev A. It used to be a combo but i turned it into a head. What are your settings??
Mark4, best amp I own! Close 2nd would be Peavey Rage!
I am only just into my amp journey so I haven't played all that many. I play through my Orange Super Crush 100 as that's the only amp I have. I do love it but would be keen to play through any of these amps or anything else really. Revv amps especially.
Curious about the bench cookies between the head/cabs? Why is that?
holy shit, that is the best ive ever heard a rectifier sound
The Mesa Boogies have so much bottom end. How do you get them to sit in a mix? I've always picked amps with less low end because I found it too challenging if the guitars are taking up the entire frequency spectrum. Between the amps in this video, I'd definitely choose the 5150 for that reason. It sounded like there was way more rolloff below 150 hz or so. The Friedman was the same way but sounded a little more brittle.
1. Fender Vintage '68 Vibralux Reverb 2. VOX AC30 3. VOX AD50VT Valvetronic 4. Orange Crush 50 (bass)
@ FLUFF--I have a really early rev C (serial # R0058) that was recently given to me by one of my old band mates. Long story short, there were termites in his warehouse that got into the headshell cab so he yanked the amp and burned the headshell (I have pics of him burning the headshell and matching speaker cab). I was wondering if you or anyone you know has a 90s headshell to sell? I don’t care if it’s crusty looking haha
Fluff weren't you an Orange artist at one point? You still use your RV? I love my RV 50 mki and then at the complete opposite side of the spectrum my early 68 super reverb with the AB763 circuit
i was curious on how much the last amp costs and couldnt find that info but i did find videos of the ohmmacht and all the videos sounded really bad but i guess might sound good to somebody lol.
I love the Rev E. Sad they’re hard to find
I would love to see a shootout of your rectifiers...especially the ksr vs the fja. But all of em lmao
I normally prefer lunchboxes for their footprint…. What do you think about the Mesa mini rectifier?
Does the hang tag bring out the mids?
ill admit , when you start to go into Revision Alphabet Soup, my eyes glaze over. But, the REV E is the best sounding amp in any of your videos, and i OWN a mark IV . i live way up north, and getting quality gear is a hassle, i have a Mark IV Combo that i love, and i live vicarously though your amp demos. Thanks for a great video , Cheers.
The Marcus 4 is fantastic!!!!!
I appreciate good high gain amp tones. But, I'm a Marshall / Vox guy. I just love the attack of a cranked Plexi.
Mark 4 is the only Mesa I would play as I am not a mesa guy, but what an amp. wow
Which fuzz pedal were you using on the Jupiter Sunn clone?I know the distortion on a beta lead isn't half bad but what about the model t or was that it's gain?
I own a triple rec personally, And I absolutely love it but I really want a Diezel Herbert
Owner of a Rev E here! Early 600 serial number. What settings do you live at? So many different possible tones.
