transpotation to the Greek island is literally the cheapest thing in Greece.about 50-60 euros for Paros Myconos etc even 70 euros from Italy to Greek ports at least 9 hours trip (for example Talin to Helsinki for just 2h trip and cost 20 euros)

In greece you have a view of sunsets,ancient artifacts, beautiful women, gorgeous waters, great food . And much more. Also depends where you go some areas it is expensive .and yes in New York you can pay 1k for a steak .so ck the menus before you order.

Its not expensive at all, its actually one of the cheaper countries in Europe. Also this credit card thing is bullshit, you often get a better price for paying cash and lots of small fruit stands, coffee shops or street food only take cash. Bullshit tips.

Yeah I just got back from two weeks in Greece/Crete, and most of these tips are the opposite of what we experienced. Food was CHEAP. Many small stores didn't take credit cards. Yes, you need to plan but why wouldn't you plan? Yes, the scenery is fantastic, no argument there! We didn't go to any of the Cyclades islands, but of course ferry prices would be high. Also, someone else pointed out about the under-24 discount being for students only.

Wow, contradicting comments,no surely not on you tube! I've been to many Greek Islands and if you go in peak season, the islands like Santorini and Mykonos then you are going to get stung. Be smart, go in shoulder season and the lesser known islands and it's a lot cheaper. But if you want to stay in luxury then of course it costs.....just like anywhere in world

The first two are true only in summer and for famous destinations

It’s hard to gauge what’s expensive being it depends on the costs you are custom to. Greece is less expensive than other western counties yet you can choose if you want a gyro or a fish that was just caught. Also, you need cash. I don’t agree with only needing a cc. Cash is king and can also save you a bit of money when shipping.

@@Christian.Grossi don’t think that the ticket especially for Aegina is so much expensive. Either from Pireas to Aegina or vice Versa it’s 8.9 euros or dollars. It’s not the fastest ship there is but it’s not either taking hours to arrive. Το go to Corfu there are many options and I consider the cheapest to use a train from Athens to Hgoumenitsa for 17 euros and about the same is the ticket ferry as it is with Aegina. That makes us 26 euros or dollars. Do you know how many kilometres is the distance between Athens and Corfu? Well it over 500. If you consider the sum of 26 euros expensive for over 500 kilometres well I don’t have to say anything. Also many hotel owners kept their prices the same to attract old customers.

Santorini and Mykonos are the most expensive and touristy. There are metros and long distance trains, but for shorter distances or between cities check out the KTEL bus system. And re: places to stay, depends on your budget-there are very cheap hostels. I’ve paid €10-20/night with breakfast in some towns, but I’m paying €50-70/night in Athens and Nafplio right now.

It depends where you go. If you want to go to 5 star hotels and expensive islands like Mykonos and Santorini then yes it will be expensive.
