I really appreciate your videos. Always good advice, especially since I just bought my first Bimmer. One clarification for your viewers related to the torque wrench; you can over-torque a bolt if you don’t know how to use the wrench properly. As soon as it clicks/snaps, stop applying pressure. If you continue to apply pressure, the wrench will not stop applying force on the bolt. The click/snap is an indicator telling you to stop, not a disconnect that stops the pressure you’re applying.

in my e92 i currently have a space saver tyre in the boot ( i ditched the run flats) a telescopic wrench and 3widow maker jack under the boot floor. i have an air compressor, tyre foam and and tyre strip kit. a few basic tools such as screwdrivers. i also have 1 carly adaptor that floats between my e92 and the wifes e60. the e60 thankfully came with a spare saver, wrench and jack already under the boot floor. there's also a bottle of spare oil + coolant and a tyre compressor. both cars have tool kits which i have supplemented and updated. even on long trips i dont carry spare parts or specific tools, but for the e9x guys that have ditched the run flats i would consider a spare, you may be stuck somewhere with a blow out and a flat phone battery

I always keep a bottle of premixed coolant, motor oil, waterless wash and some microfiber cloths. I have an emergency kit that includes flares, candles, drinking water, reflector vest, jumper cables, battery charging jump module and some first aid stuff. I also have a can of tire inflator/ puncture seal. One in the emergency kit and one factory M kit that came with my M3. I also have all the factory tools that come with the car, including the wheel lock key. Keeping a breaker bar is a good idea... but my torque wrench is a digi, and a little expensive, so I don't want it slamming against the walls of my trunk every time I change direction hard. I also have roadside assistance... which us pretty convenient when you have an emergency. I've used it, I know! I lost a lot of my tools recently. Some dip shit came into my condo building's underground garage and found my tool chest which I keep in my parking spaces and somehow was able to carry the damn thing up and out without getting picked up by the cameras. There's a guy a few spots over from me, he has a track bike that's he's often tinkering with... I noticed all his tools are gone too.

Dan Stanford well the emergency kit is all in one small canvas bag. The factory M tire seal/ inflator is in its compartment, under the trunk floor. The only thing you can see is small bag a 1L bottle of BMW oil and a bottle of coolant on one side of the trunk and the waterless wash and microfiber cloths in their own bag, on the other side. Factory issue, BMW tools have their spot too, they snap into place. I don't think that's a lot. Come to think of it I don't even need to add a breaker bar, or sockets in the car; there's no spare tire! Lol, E90 M3 comes with inflate and seal kit instead of a spare.

can't agree more--I would have made engine coolant + purified water AND some spare oil as one of the 5 must haves... ...had a scary moment the other day when the "oil level too low" light/warning flipped on. how badly I wished I had an extra litre in the trunk to immediately stop driving and remedy the situation. The following 6 minute drive to Advanced Auto felt like an eternity. --Funny thing, then the warning extinguished on its own, about 2 mins before arriving to advanced auto....talk about a false alarm. still added 1 qt...any one else ever had a similar experience in their e90 gen? I disagree on the torque wrench needing to be in the car. Chances are you aren’t doing any thing extensive on the side of the road. If you are changing a tire and are not a complete idiot, you will be fine if you go to get a repair or new tire shortly after. They will torque it to the proper specs. If it’s a newer bmw you are screwed because they have no spares, I believe some have fix it flat though. Torque wrench at home with your tools you most definitely should have one. Your videos are good, just my 2 cents on the torque wrench.

sublimegabe agreed, if you need a torque wrench then you need aluminum fasteners too, those are the only fasteners that are easy to over torque and break, and even with a torque wrench you are likely to break those that have been reused

It's NOT a COIL PACK!!!! It's an individual coil. A coil PACK is a group of coils packed together. The BMW uses coil-on-plug; or COP. Otherwise I really enjoy your videos. Subscribed!!

With the engine running, disconnect each coil one at a time. If you disconnect one thats working, it will make a big difference and the engine might even stall. When you disconnect the one that has failed, it wont make any difference

FYI I snapped a rod bolt off my M3 because I had a cheap harbor freight crappy torque wrench that would not click when it should and it went past the pound setting. So my advice is by a good torque wrench not a Chinese junk piece of crap. By the way I was able to get bolt pulled out of the Rod
