Not to mention that was during an era when female artists didn’t collaborate. It was all about being the “diva”. After the Boy Is Mine collaboration and people saw how successful it was, the girls started sharing the limelight! Even Whitney and Mariah had to come together!

Everything on the first half until Chris Brown is fucking perfect for that time frame. Sorry you weren't born then. You would have enjoyed it. Sorry it left you willing to talk down on it. Bet you will sing it at the top of your lungs though if it comes up on a jukebox(that's that bar song machine you use to play music) or on the radio(obviously not fm for you).

Two collabs I was surprised to not find on this list: Telephone by Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé, and Walk This Way by Run DMC ft. Aerosmith (the former for the sheer star power and the latter for being such an unusual cross-genre pairing that got fans crossing the fence to listen)

Dancing in the Streets with Jagger and Bowie was a great collab. You aren't taking into account the zeitgeist of the 80s as well as the tongue in cheek nature of the video of two monster personalities. It was SUPPOSED to be goofy and cornball. Also, the Aerosmith and Run DMC collab with Walk This Way was epic. Super unexpected and it fit together perfectly.

Shook the Genre: When You Believe by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. This collab of the two biggest female songstress supremes was the best. Both rocking the charts during the 90s with hits after hits after hits, they showed to media that there was no competition between them and that they support, respect and adore each other. That is on top of the magical song. Uhhhh the bridge, for heaven's sake, is insane.

Bowie/Jagger collab happened because of Live Aid (1986)and the video was made in one night so it was ready to show at Live Aid concert. Jagger and Bowie was supposed to preform the song together one from Wembley and one in Philadelphia but due to the satelite delays that wasn’t possible. That’s why the video is so campy.

I remember a bit of a joke that came out shortly after "Scream" was released, that the video proved Michael and Janet really were two different people. (Given the fact that Janet's albums had all come out between Michael's albums and they'd never really been seen interacting publicly anywhere--neither one seemed to be at things like the Grammy Awards at the same time--there'd actually been a bit of a conspiracy theory that all of that work had all really been done by Michael. Granted, no one really believed that but the album timing WAS really a wild coincidence.)

Secret love song with jason derulo definitely left me shaking my head… i mean jason derulo?? There are lots and lots of singers that would fit perfectly with the serious lovesong… why does it have to be him? He seems so inlove and obsessed with himself to even be singing this song lol… i think john legend would be perfect for this instead…

Numb/Encore was AMAZING!! Definitely the greatest collab ever! Me! Was nothing but childish and so preschool leveled. Definitely Taylor’s worst collaboration and she has way better ones….

I’ve never thought of collaborations as a genre, but whatevs.😆 “Me” was a fabulous collab!! Excellent song! Excellent video! Also, I don’t think it’s immature at all. It’s a fun, catchy song that fits the title, and vibe of the entire album! That was the point. 🙄 And Bowie and Jagger “Dancing in the Streets” was great! Two legends, fun song! Doesn’t deserve the hate!

I disagree about "Me" by Taylor Swift and Brendan Urie. I really dig it, and I think the childish vibe really highlights how juvenile the whole "you'll never find anyone like me" mentality is
