Been watching Youwy since ER came out. All the rest of the channels are PvP where they basically take turns showing you the same boring content. Or it's just tourists making trendy builds with the popular weapons. Youwy is pretty much the only source for PvE ER.

that Death Knight's Longhaft build is basically what i played through the whole dlc with, Lightning is my favorite thing in souls game and i was sad that the vanilla game had barely any cool lightning shit. one of my fav weapons in any souls game

@@theobell2002 but paladin is more fitting of a holy damage build than lightning, and for that we have plenty of options, and new ones too such as the Sword of Light.

I heard you say a couple times that the Blood Sucking Tear drains 1% HP a second. It does not. It drains 20 + 0.2% HP per second. At 40 Vig that's 1.5% and at 60 Vig that's 1.2%

@@dmaster6398 At 99 Vigor, it does finally reach almost exactly 1%. I wanted to point out the discrepancy because when people remember Power Within and its 1%/s drain, they remember that you could lower your max HP to the point that you can overcome the 1% with regen. It's much harder to do it in Elden Ring because the HP drain starts at a minimum of 20.

Great Katana is essentially a combination of my two favorite weapon classes, and I absolutely love it. It has a phenomenal move set and I’m so happy that it’s as powerful as it is. I’m using this build for sure

I have not fact checked this yet, but on a fextralife comment i saw, it's said that the rakshasa armor pieces don't actually increase the damage taken, it just has very low damage negation compared to other armor sets in the same weight category.

I noticed that too. If you wear tge armor you notice that the resistances are decreased in a very slightly way!

ok I just checked it; It has a passive on it that makes you take 1.2 more damage. Basically you do take more damage but it's so little that you probably have the damage mitigation of a light armor set. It's not enough to be a detriment.

I believe the damage increase is 2% per armor piece so I've questioned whether it's even worth it, regardless both effects are pretty minimal to the point that I only use it for fashion unless I'm trying to minmax or damage test something. It looks swanky as hell especially with the red bear pelt, so there's that

Ive been doing repeating thrusts on the great katana with blood affinity. Bleed procs from 1 aow, so good

One of the best DLC builds is just dex Milady. The wing stance R2 lunges so far that it trivialises a lot of tricky bosses. Dodge and then immediately L2 R2. Goes so fast that you have loads of time to avoid the next attack. You can also lunge outside the AI’s programmed attack range so you can risk initiating an attack before a dodge even.

Cool builds, I hope there will be a part 3 of it and I hope you come up with another Hand to Hand build. I'm currently trying to do a Hand-to-Hand build and experimenting, if I go full strength/dex, quality, or even bleed.

Hey man, sincere congratulations on 100k subs. You deserve it.

I beat the DLC first time with the essentially the exact same Intelligence build. Was super pumped when I saw decent scaling on INT with cold infusion on the backhand blades and was sold from there. Didn't get swift slash on first playthru but the Lacerating Crossed-Tree Talisman (enhances dash attacks) which went great with the running R2s. The running R2s on the backhand blade is soo good.

Running a Falix build atm…if you can get the aow off it does insane damage

just today i was using the messmer soldier spear and was really liking it. Pretty much was using the same setup. Definitely want to use that great katana build too!

That spear build looks right up my alley, simple, effective, pokey covers all my bases

It’s probably best that it never sinks in. Keep doing what you’re doing. Stay humble and keep grinding.

For the strength based guard counter build, the dueling shield is very strong because of the ash of war options. You can 2 hand a weapon with vow to just ignore certain attacks and stay in close. Carian crest and blue dew talisman allow you a free use every 15 seconds when you've run out of FP, if you're using it to dodge stuff like Radahn or any crazy hand to parry combos. Plus the dueling shield is just fun.

I'm a bit sad how underwhelming the overhead stance is for the great katana, repeating thrust just feels way stronger. think overhead stance should do alot of stance damage(similar to unsheathe atleast)

6:31 This was literally the build I used for my first DLC playthrough. Almost exactly the same. Although I found the Cirque to be better for quickly applying frostbite faster. The listed damage was higher too.

Just to note, while the rakshasa armor set does increase damage by 2% per piece, it doesn't actually make you take more damage despite the debuff under your health bar. I think the reason it was explained that way is because the armor pieces have less damage negation compared to other armor pieces of the same weight class.

I think a fun build is the “better ancient dragon man” build. 30 faith, 55+ arcane, world the Beast Claws occult for pretty decent bleed buildup and decent damage too. Pair with dragon communion seal for still rather high incant scaling and use your favorite dragon communion spells. If you want, go no armor and use the Rock Heart, but that isn’t required, and for bosses needs much more skill to execute with the whole “no armor” thing. It’s not the strongest thing every but it’s very fun to be a dragon-man who tends enemies with their sharp dragon claws

Someone checked and it’s a 1.2% defense decrease per peice but the armor negates it so it’s just a low defense set

About the great katana, piercing fang does more damage, stance damage, tracks really well and you can roll faster. I did try the build you suggested and of course, ur builds are always great, but the dmg im doing is like 3-5k damage with each piercing fang. Solid build doe

Might add one of the Death Knight weapons to my Int/Faith spellcaster build (generally using the Ash of War), simply because necromancy and lightning are some of my favorite types of magic.

for anyone looking for another arcane build, dual-wielding two bloodfiend's forks with occult infusion leads to insanely high bleed. pair this with seppuku on both and you can get bleed procs on messmer in 2-3 L1s and procs on radahn in 4-5 L1s.

Doing a Sekiro style NG+ run with deflecting tear and the great katana and it's so much fun 😅 Great Katana is mad underrated

Winged Serpent Helmet (Fire Knight Ash of War Buff) + Leda's Armor (buffs roll, backstep, running and crouch attacks) + Scaled Gauntlets + Bull-Goat Greaves is a good-looking functional set, recommend a whole lot

Talismans I reccomend are rotten wing sword and lord of blood

Idk i did my own build and melted everything… used rakash great katana right Hand and greatkatana left Hand with frost dmg (127frost + 110blood). Used jump attacks and with 40 vigor you can Equip all dmg boosting armor and a dagger with golden vow ontop. It’s really op….

Would like to see a vs video between the twin axes with blink bolt vs the great axe, I've used both thoroughly and still haven't decided but I'm a little biased to the twin axes.

An Arcane build is better with the new thorns inc with maternal Staff. But thats a good build aslo for Arcane! Gotta need to test it.

I’m taking a few characters to 175 for some fun builds. My main PVP characters stay at 125 or 150. But I want to do fun stuff like an Int/Arc finger build. Kind hard at 150 because you need mind too.

@@DeathstarsEG You get the fastest matchmaking and more importantly, once you get past like 175, builds stop being builds. You get Bullgoat mages with infinite mind. Basically “everything” builds. Being at 150 forces you to make sacrifices for your build.

I am currently having the most fun with Bayle spear and dragon stone build. Hits for like 5/6k damage each time. and you can off hand a dagger with endure to gain hyper armor during the casting animation.

@@Smnsnsnsn If you're ng+ you can use two dragon comunion seals to boost the damage further. Also, add both canvas charms, godfrrey icon and lightning charm. If you use the dragon stone again after the transformation, it buffs your dragon spells for 60 seconds

Thanks for the video. Just finished the DLC and will start a NG+ run, since I used a Fire Knight GS build I wanted to switch things up and play something Arcane based to use both melee and dragon communion, gonna try your great katana suggestion here! Any other good weapons to do this with in case I dont enjoy the great katana playstyle?

I was wondering what you thought about Queelign's Greatsword. I really like the weapon's looks and innate faith scaling on an infusable heavy thrusting sword but I'm not sure if it's good in comparison to other heavy thrusting swords.

It’s going to be the best for faith builds in terms of damage and it does get the most range. I don’t think I’d use it over the great epee or Godskin stitcher as they have better heavy attacks. If you don’t care about those heavies then just use it

I really like it that spears are good in damage, it adds some realism. spears and halberds were actually weapons made to fight heavily armored knights that couldn't be damaged with swords. Swords were mainly used in 1500, while spears and halberds were used 1600-1700.

Backhand blades have a much better moveset than dual curved swords. They have the best running heavy attack in the game which hits 4 times and since it's a heavy attack it gets higher motion values. From my testing the running heavy was outdamaging the jumping attack o bandit's, despite bandit's having higher AR. Also the light running chains immediately without delay in the normal light attacks which is insane and has tons of forward momentum. The light attacks are slower than curved swords but they are better because they also have forward momentum and hit backwards as well, so you don't miss. Also since they mix with thrust attacks alot of the hits end up being counter hits and end up dealing more damage. Add the crazy ashes of war, especially blind spot. Curved swords have better jump attacks and that's it. And if you want to spam just jump attacks it's better to go with a twinblade. If you want faster light attacks it's better to go with claws.

@Ecliptor. yes on a light running attack. Backhand blades on a running heavy which does more damage. And on their light running heavy they get the claw thing that it chains with the normal light attacks without delay. They get the best of both worlds. And they have faster recovery frames on dodge attacks.

@@ethanpispas4098 Well yeah, power stance weapons don't have power stance R2. Only special weapons that become power stance without needing 2 weapons (i.e. claws, fists, etc), so can't really compare heavy attacks. I'm with you tho, I think I prefer the backhand blades just in looks alone, the moveset is nice.

I feel the same way as stated in the intro. After 2 weeks, if you’re upset about spoilers, you’re the issue. You had 2 weeks to get through and see who the bosses are. Even story/lore spoilers are acceptable after 2 weeks

I think most players should focus on getting a +18 shadow buff. Getting that even 2x buff really helps.
