For real. Like yeah, Bleed is very good for Arcane, but it's not the only use for it. I've done Str and Dex builds to death, so this will probably be the next DLC playthrough for me!

For the milady, i actually went with a black flame blade build. The milady just felt like the perfect weapon for black flame blade for a couple of reasons: - The one handed moveset is very fast and has insane range, especially tap R2 lunges really far forward with a double swipe - since black flame doesn't stack but only reset on each hit, the speed of the milady is the perfect middle ground for black flame - the flowing combo structure of the weapon ensures that you can maximize every second of the short black flame buff duration. - As Youwy said, wing stance r1 can combo into another r1 or r2, making it just super optimal for hiting black flame Edit: for those interested in the build rune lvl 150 build Vigor: 45 Mind: 28 Endurance: 32 Strength: 12 Dex: 53 (58 with Millicent's prosthesis) Int: 7 Faith: 42 Arcane: 10 Right hand 1: keen Milady with wing stance Right hand 2: black knife Left hand 1: godslayer seal Talismans: old lord's, two headed turtle, Millicent's prosthesis, erdtree favor+2 Armor: godskin apostle set with high page clothes (altered) for the drip Spells: black flame blade (ofc) and a bunch more buffs (golden vow, blessing of the erdtree, other defense buffs) to make use of old lord's talisman. With this build, you will have enough fp and stamina to keep buffing, attacking and dodging without having to worry about any of those running out. With the armor you also get the benefit of light roll and the 3 godskin pieces buffing the black flame. Personal recommendation: i'm only making a light roll low vigor build to experiment with stuff i haven't played with before and to allow for high faith to try out new incants i'll find in the dlc. If you're only interested in the life drain property of black flame, i recommend only getting to 17 faith (25 if you want to use golden vow) and getting at least 60 vigor. With the high endurance you'll also be able to optimise for really high poise armors if you don't mind medium rolling

I used Milady on my Blackflame/ destined death themed character, but just had it either flame or lightning infused since I normally thing blackflame isn't worth using, but this is actually a really good use case for the spell with its short activation.

i actually had milady as second weapon in my ng+2 run. was fighting elden beast and usually use black fire dmg since it does % base dmg and elden beast has a shit ton of HP. Bro. I sliced that bitch up REALLY BAD with milady and black flame HOLY SHIT 10/10 recommended

small correction, the two-handed-Sword Talisman only effects Guard counters, light, jump and heavy attacks. It doesn't effect things that are based on base AR alone such as crits and skills. This is important to note as guard counter builds often rely on criting, especially with elemental damage weapons, so no it isn't increasing your crit damage either, (this is why lightning typically has a higher crit damage than any other infusion)

It isn't buffing crit damage is because crits are always "one-handed" for the purposes of damage calculation, iirc

Smithscript shield is such a goated backup weapon on strength build. Who needs mages when youve got a perfectly good projectile right there?

Same. Poison builds were some of my favorite builds to run in Darl Souls 2 and they haven't been viable in any game since so I'm also really excited to see how powerful they are with the DLC here.

@@yokabu7487 Basically poison by design would always do less dps then bleed or frost, since the status effect causes damage at a fixed rate that wasn't in your control whereas something like bleed would do damage at a rate based on how much you would hit the boss, so if you knew the moveset of bosses bleed would always just be the better pick. Not to mention talisman and armor buffs from bleed that just go into effect more often because of how much more often it procs. Since poison can be removed by that hard hitting ash of war now though, it actually functions somewhat similarly to bleed with a few advantages: The ash of war can hit far harder than just a bleed proc against some bosses/enemies, poison infusions on weapons have a bit more status buildup than bleed naturally, and in pvp the talisman that buffs damage from proccing poison was not reduced unlike the one that buffs damage from proccing bleed. While it's still unfortunate poison is only as viable as frost and bleed with just this ash of war, it's still really cool they found a way to make it happen at all with how poison was designed by itself.

Milady really works on any build, it has good scalings across the board. Obviously keen is going to work best, but it's not lacking in any department

I went for a blood milady, just seemed the logical thing to do. Got like 55 dex 50 arc and blood doesn't have much less dmg than keen, but gets 110 bleed, so it procs constantly with the fast hits. Absolutely one of my favorite weapons of all time, the moveset is just beautiful.

Nice builds. I would eventually like to try them all, or some variations of them. My fav of your builds is the foot frost. I just love the way that weapon works and the synergy with frost stomp is perfect! Personally I'd like to see top 25 weapons assuming that would include the seals and staffs, but if not then those two make the most sense.

One other note for the poison build: you can carry the deadly poison perfume bottle and use it to proc your poison damage buffs at the start of the fight. The aow on it procs poison on you, so you can do it then take a bolus right before going into a fight for a whole lot of damage boosts right out the gate.

The arcane one is super similar to the second build I went into the DLC with, but I had no idea how good that new Ash Of War was for poison! The fact that it also procs rot is seriously cool as well! Gonna have to give it a try since I almost have that entire setup already

between the beast claws, the new poison stuff, and the new dragon stuff I couldn't be happier to be a bandit/arcane fan. It'll be less damage than venomous fangs for sure but I like the idea of putting the poison flower blooms twice on the dryleaf arts for a poison infusion alongside the poisoned hand for a toxic monk setup.

A good arcane build I've been trying is Occult Beast Claws with Dragon Claw/Dragon Maw and the Rock Heart, using the consecutive hits talismans and blue dancer charm. The strategy is to build up consecutive attack buffs with the Beast Claws ash of war and then use the physical Dragon incantations for massive damage.

Ansbach's Bow slaps so hard! Once I got it, I actually used it to beat a remembrance boss in the DLC. Takes people by surprise in PVP too.

For the dried bouquet, you can use the small jar summons as they kamikaze themselfs or even any undead skeleton ones as they can revive and get you even more procs for the talisman.

I have been running a build I like to call the Frigid Knight, which is basically a str/int build that focuses on frostbite buildup, and sword-lance is insane on this build. Cold infusion creates 153 frost buildup, which paired alongside Glintstone Ice Crag and Adula’s Moon Blade creates the potential to deal a lot of damage.

Funny thing is, I was going to do 2 of 5 builds, one even before the game release. Great builds!

I love the poison flower blooms twice ash of war. I used it with a poison dryleaf arts and it was such a fun way of fighting bosses. I am glad that they have added more to the poison status effect with that ash of war. Arcane in general seems to have received a lot of improvements in the dlc.

2nd build looks so fun, i wanted to use milady as main weapon but needed something to help me boost the damage and enabling ranged attacks so this is perfect. I will shamelessly copy it lol

Top 25 best weapons would be pretty cool as it’s fun to incorporate your ideas but sometimes people don’t wanna fully change builds so just knowing why certain weapons are good helps

I like the black steel great hammer build and the venomous fang arcane build def gonna try them out

The hand to hand weapons, well dryleaf arts at least, feel super strong to me even better then fist weapons

@@LDN_Mxx two headed turtle, Millicent prosthesis/rotten winged sword, dragon crest gs, any dmg or defense talisman whichever you prefer. Mushroom head and kindered of rot go well on it but so can white mask if you’re not getting the rot proc. I prefer occult scaling for the added dmg per swing and the jump attacks are decent so sometimes Gravebird chestpiece

I can't wait to replay the dlc in NG+. Faith based lightning attribute weapons has been something I've wanted forever just so that I'm not investing in two stats for two different weapons on my lightning dragon cult build.

i wanted to try your intelligence one before this video and was actually thinking how to build it while waiting for my new controller to come in the mail so might just copy your homework. the arcane one is appealing too.

Ive been using almost that exact Poison Flower build for the whole DLC. I opted for Occult Dryleaf Arts/Dane's Footwork over the Venomous Fang though. You dont get the innate poison buildup of the Fang but Poisoned Hand in the main hand procs poison in 2-3 hits on most enemies or one use of the AoW, while still having the full martial arts combo on L1, then a quick swap to twohanding the Arts and most enemies are cooked. The Shattered Stone talisman also boosts all those extra kicking attacks. Poison Hand ash into Poison Flower Blooms Twice×3 is usually enough to proc poison, pop it with Poison Flower on the first, proc Rot with the second, and pop the Rot with the third. Melts almost everything I've come across in NG+ so far.

Death knight great axe skill lets you phase through attacks and you can find the ash of war for it too. Add a gravel seal and the x6 lightning incantation and you’ve got a Knight of Godwyn build.

I was doing some testing: Ranni's darkmoon is REALLY good in the DLC. I think it's a top tier spell. You can cast it to dodge renalla's last moon stomp and punish, you can also use it when she does the blue swords: the darkmoon will block the slashes. I also used it to dodge the putresence knights purple flames and deal huge damage when you otherwise wouldnt be able to - I got two back to back moons off when he was doing his flame attacks. I suspect you can use it in the same way against some of Bayle's magma attacks. I'm thinking you can use it against the dancing lion while he is spinning.

I would recommend a blade of mercy, curved sword talisman, dagger talisman, twin turtle, deflecting guardcounter build with milady. The guard counter is stupidly fast and combos into the light attack, and the stance damage from all the buffs to guard counters will get you stance breaking like crazy. Dagger talisman could be replaced with something else, and you can swap to a misericorde if you really want crit damage

The Black Steel Greathammer scales pretty well across the board, I have just been changing infusions on the fly with Savage Lion's Claw

The Poison Flower Blooms Twice reminds of how stupidly strong Erik in Dragon Quest 11 was with how you inflict poison then immediately remove it with a crazy hard hitting attack to melt bosses.

I'm theorycrafting a really cool, unique build I dubbed the "Carian Swordsman/woman". Basically I use the Carian Sorcery sword + cold enchanted Main-gauche. Since the Carian Sorcery sword is a thrusting sword, you get access to the unique dual wielding combos with the Main-gauche and you can cast sorceries with your other sword by pressing heavy attack. Fashion is Navy hood, Rellana's armor, Lusat's manchettes, Blaidd's greaves.

Main-gauche is sick, the moveset it gives you is really interesting overall but the rolling attack and jumping r1 are actually crazy with how fast they come out. Too bad regular thrusting swords are so underwhelming :(

Milady move set so nice and quick. Rarely get caught in animation and punished. Craig blade or knights resolve combine with quick r2 animations make posture breaking quicker than a sword weapon should be. It’s been my go to for 1v1 encounters in pve

Been running a similar build to the Dex one but pure Bow. Both Arrow Sting talismans, Blue Dancer and the enraged divine beast as it turns out it also buffs Stormwing arrows. The only major differences in stat spread are 30+ in STR for bow scaling and 25 in Faith for golden vow. Run with Bloodsucking Cracked tear and Bloodboil aromatic to really live on the edge and pump out dumb damage (And also get 1 to 2 shot by anything regardless of Vigor)

I will for sure try the scorpion claw thing one

These builds are great, you can also make a video about fun but not so much powerfull min max builds like throwing weapon builds etc

For the Dried Bouquet, consider using a fully upgraded Soldjars of Fortune. They run in to sac themselves anyways, you might as well get good damage out of them as well as the buff.

I kinda wanna try the last build but with dane's footwork, lol. I just think that ash of war fits so well with the kicking theme of that martial arts.

the arcane build seems super fun, tho it end up being too much of a fashion abomination tho ill eventually try it. im definitely going for the dex build, seeing a bow that kicks ass is awesome

I know a lot of stuff doesn't work the way it should in the DLC lol maybe you can make a video "elden ring dlc definitely not broken" then list all of the things that need buffs, nerfs & things that are just plain broken. For instance, I don't think the new Carian ash of war should one shot the poise of every boss haha

One build ive started on but haven't done much testing is with the new dragon forms, the dragon communion on in particular im interested to see just how strong it ends up being once everything is in place. The arcane build actually reminds me of a build i did way back with poisoned whips, although obviously not as min maxed as these new options, they did surprisingly well.

Rotten sword insignia on the dex build is a must, both the Milady and the bow have multi hits attacks, you proc the talisman very very often

For the poison flower blooms twice build I’ve been having a lot of success using the rotten great axe because of its innate rot so you are able to proc poison then pop it for some damage and then proc rot and also pop that.

definitely want to use the wing stance build, but i also want to try out a magma/fire build with the talisman of the dread and some of those new fire knight skills maybe

for faith i really like the fire knight greatsword with flame spear, it gets a really good moveset with the zweihander pokes and godslayer greatsword light attack combo plus an innate faith scaling and fire damage

I hadn't thought of guard countering with Weapon Guard. It's two-handed, so it looks more powerful with more firepower.

Im using a variation of the last build but with Poison Affinity Dryleaf Arts and Poison Blooms Twice AoW. Poison procs within a few seconds of your combos and poison blooms twice hits like a truck. My build is Faith Str and Dex, I use golden vow, and flame grant me strength so I can tank bosses and pump out damage. My equipment is largely the same, but i use Gravebirds Armor which increase jump attacks. I'll try arcane next
