Saying it even twice, just in case the ref didn't hear it clearly. Absolutely brilliant!

Very calm, very controlled, very personable but definitely the boss. A genuinely great ref.

Love the fact that Luke Pearce promotes play, he won't stop play unless absolutely necessary. Great for the spectators

3:50 can just admire that he admitted to his mistake, owned that it was his fault then changed to the correct decision. Takes a lot at the highest level to admit a mistake has been made in real time

He's coming along nicely.

I didn't realise Pearce was such a good domestic referee. I still think he still needs more time to bring all his skills to international level.

Always liked him, he makes some mistakes like any human does but he's on the good side. Always apreciated the pace he puts into the games.

This lad is fast emerging as a top referee. Seems to adjudicate in the style of Nigel Owens , by which I mean clear and unambiguous communication with the players and tries to let the games flow.

At a time when the entire Southern Hemisphere seems to be slating Northern Hemisphere Referee’s I feel it’s my duty to defend them they are only human beings just like you and I and we all make mistakes 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇮🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹

Luke Pearce is by far the best Northern Hemisphere ref, a close second going to Wayne Barnes - just because the Southern Hemisphere isnt a fan of Mike Adamson and Romain Poitte doesnt mean that we hate them all.

@@fergusturner2069 Pearce got a fair amount of hate during TRC, some people just don't like refs, but those people usually don't actually know the laws very well.

Great ref. Not so say he's never made a mistake as some SA fans seem to think refs should get every single call exactly right. But still a great ref

My personal favourite ref

As a Wasps fan I feel very grateful for the quality of referees in the Premiership. From what I've seen of the other leagues, and from what fans of other countries have told me, the standard of refereeing in the Pro14, Top14 etc is not as good.

The Saffa channels like TAS Analytics assassinating northern hemisphere refs because they're following Rassies lead and throwing their toys out the pram when losing. No responsibility of their own. I hate this culture of character assassination, it's become worse than football with the post-game disrespect of the ref. Luke Pierce has been a great ref, think a few of the Welsh and English refs have been very good recently. It's not easy reffing rugby games with the continual law changes - literally reciting and applying continually changing legal practice in real time. The refs must always be respected. Rassie has already damaged the game with his crap and it's a shame to see it has encouraged supporters to continue this undermining

It's actually turning me off of safas a bit with how touchy and vindictive they can get over rugby. And despite asking numerous times i've never really found anyone who can give me a reason why people from down south place such a high emphasis on hemispheres when they're borderline meaningless in real terms.

Totally agree mate, well said. Back in the WC I was really routing for them but with all this petulant bs and the ‘refs and world rugby are out to get us, we should be above the law’ has really stained them for me. And the implication that Nic Berry was racist towards Kolisi was just abhorrent.

@@GWLAD he made the right choice. JP Doyle now represents the USA. Good to see refs can change their allegience depending on where they're wanted, much like Shane Howarth.

I really like this dude. Obviously the goat is and will always be our boy Nige, but this guy is quickly becoming my fav ref

They did try to bring it in, but he pitches weren't long enough to keep putting them back 10 yards. They would have been taking free kicks from the stands behind the goal😂😂😂😂😂

Rugby is designed around self-control, your play, your options selection as a life lesson. Getting frustrated has to become a penalty at some point. Taking the big girl's blouse route is time-wasting especially for those professionals being paid to play.

He's really good but is he a little bit too reliant on TMO.

Luke Pearce shocking call with the Farrell one! How is that not reverse! He just penalised someone for pushing someone off the ball saying “its not necessary’ Not consistent at all. This is why i hate watching rugby because refs are so inconsistent

Shocking ref. Let's tmo ref absolutely everything. It's a wonder he doesn't call teams out of the shower to change the result if the tmo sees something. Crap for both sides at least though
