*5 MINUTE* UCLA Dorm Tour 2017 | Deluxe Triple Hall, communal bathrooms, sunset & city views!
Hi everyone! :) This is the Holly building, known for its high-rise views. I've listed TIMESTAMPS below:

This is a deluxe triple hall dorm at UCLA. There's Holly, Gardenia, Sproul Cove, and Sproul Landing. Deluxe halls have AC, nicer communal bathrooms, and are bigger than regular halls. It's also a common dorm for Transfer students!

FAQs:
Q. Why are the different types of dorms at UCLA so confusing??
A. No worries! We'll break it down for you. You can choose from triples, doubles, and singles from the following:
($ in order of priciness $$$)
halls, deluxe halls, plazas, suites
With halls, there are shared hallway bathrooms. With plazas, you can choose from shared or private bathrooms.
Tips:
1. When you're signing up for rooms in your second year, know that the ODD numbered rooms have the VIEW and the even numbered rooms face towards the hill.
2. The 10th floor has larger windows on the even numbered side!
3. After 9pm there's you'll need to check in with your UCLA ID, plazas don't have check-in. You can watch my Plaza Courtside dorm tour if you're wondering about that one!

One of the best dorm videos I’ve seen!! I know Holly is mainly a transfer dorm. How is the social scene in it? Also can you choose which number dorm you want or view? Cause this is beautiful

Thank you so much that means a lot!! It depends on your floor neighbors. It's less social than classic halls but it can be pretty social in the shared lounge. If you have a RSU (room sign up) time then you can choose the exact room. I'm not sure if entering transfer students have that, but if you've been at UCLA for at least a year as a continuing student then you'll have that option. Hope you're doing well!

Got put in a de neve deluxe triple! How do I know if it's the transfer dorms?
Can you control the ac?? And would you say the ac is worth the cost for the deluxe?

Hi! Yes you can and I think it is! The deluxes are also bigger than classic halls so the extra space is a benefit.
the nice view is only for odd number rooms?

Hi Irene! Yes the odd numbered rooms overlook la and the even numbered face the other dorm buildings. Those ones still let in a lot of light :)

Hi Minnie!!! I just saw your video again. UCLA recommended me to watch it and I was like OMG! I love the part where you put the view where you can see the beach. I'm feeling nostalgic because I'm transfering from Santa Monica College and I'm going to miss going to the beach and my professors. But anyways, I LOVE THIS!! Which dorm are you in? They told me to be in DeNeve. Is the Holly similar to a deNeve?

Hi Melissa!! Aww I'm so happy to hear that you love it! It's my favorite view!! You'll still be close to the beach and can visit SMC anytime :) Is it a De Neve deluxe hall? If so, it's very likely you'll be in Holly or Gardenia since it's common for those to be transfer dorms!
Do we get to choose which resident hall we will dorm in as first years ?
